It would have been worthwhile checked the reverse of the camcover breather box. There are two small metal pipes there that drain the oil from the crankcase gases back into the oil. They are always blocked and can be a source of oil consumption. Saab released a TIS about these.
Good video there! Not sure if you're aware but those later pipe connectors are easy to remove just pull the red ring up and it should come out of the hole.
Hold the red piece down as you pull out the pipe. Pulling up on the red ring is how it locks in place….they sell the full bush assembly for each instance of those red clips in the engine bay (not all are the same size). Worth grabbing to replace all the o-rings!

How did you get on replacing the check valve? I’ve just done the same an struggling to get the part removed from the other end at the back of the engine.
This is more from obvious oil leaks when open the bonnet/hood. White smoke could just be condensation, but could also be a sign of your turbo on the way out if it continues sometimes when hot

Superglue is perfect to get the gasket to sit.
Pretty sure that superglue would harden the rubber and therefore compromise it's flexible sealant properties

It’s a breather hose. Just let it hang there.

I just got white smoke from exhaust especially on cold start. Could that be a solution? I own a 2003 saab 9-5 2.3t
