I'm getting a Stimson's Python and I'm hyped
I'm with you on the preeminence of the antaresias! And you have certainly developed some amazing looking snakes... But I'm concerned about the long term health risks of doing so much line breeding. It worries me that the US trend of creating 'spectacular' morphs is having a deleterious effect on our naturally beautiful Aussie pythons... I would hate to see genetic problems coming up amongst the most already beautiful species of pythons simply to get interesting colour effects. How do these snakes handle? What about their neurology? Just interested to know how, as a prolific and professional breeder, you feel about some of these issues ?
Beautiful snakes but breeding sibilings doesn’t sounds good
Great video Peter! I've loved the Aussie mini python group forever and I just got my first pair of stimsoni today!!!! I love 'em like crazy already. You've done some great work with yours. Those wheatbelts are smoking pretty. Nice video. Best, TC
Who would you suggest to get Anteresia from in the United States?
You could try Justin Julander, Nick Mutton , Brian Barczyk or even Vin Russo
Beautiful pythons! Love your videos, thanks for sharing!
I just picked up my FIRST EVER snake today
Nice snakes, awful, unnecessary, head banging music. A real push away for me.
@@calrob300 appreciate the comment we have changed alot since the early days
@@CrittaCam Good to know. I will check out your more recent videos then. Thanks for your reply.
@@calrob300 please do
Are stimsoni now all childreni?
The Glow Worm Project is spectacular. Yesterday, my western Anteresia Stimson's Python arrived. He is so tiny with a big friendly personality. I have other Pythons and I am delighted to have my little boy Rhey join my snake family. Love your video and I have subscribed to your channel.
Oh wow! Thanks for the SUB
is it me or does he sound exactly like Russell Coight - All Aussie Adventures LOL
Mate I found you informative, helpful and insightful also.. I’m working my way into the animal field and your guides are brilliant.. thanks and keep up the good work.
thank you so much
awesome stuff guys i hope to see you at the castle hill expo again this year!
Beautiful species! Love your passion for them!
Hi peter love your videos buddy . Peter just a quick question about feeding my stimson’s , which I only had for a short time. I have been told by some to start and feed only rats , but I have been told by others to feed rats and mice . Could you please clear this for me as I AMA little confused. Love your animals buddy , keep up the great work...
i feed mine both, it really makes no difference as long as they are eating!
Hey dudes love all your vids any chance you can do a vid on womas??
I love the smaller python species. Have been wanting to get pairs myself.
Awesome video, very informative!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Peter love your channel ... after some advise on my stimson temps with a heat matt under the click clack what temps do u recommend...
Thanks Dwayne, you need the temp on the hot spot around 30 -32'c
Why are these not popular in the states. I finally got a pair of stimsons and they are awesome. Hopefully they become popular
Because we don’t export them
Love all those beautiful Stimsons
The glow worm is an F4?
Is a Melamine enclosure 2ft x 2ft x 2ft ok for an adult stimson python
That's a good size
Thanks Peter love your videos keep them coming ..
nice
Hey Pete, I need some advice. I want to get a shingleback skink. And I was wondering if it would be ok if I put the shingleback with my blue tongue skink? Also I bought the blue tongue from your stand last year at the penrith Reptile expo.
StrikerdanielFTW You should be able to keep them together as I've seen it done before. Before you do make sure you quarantine the Shingle Back along enough to make sure there is nothing your blue tongue can catch. Before putting your shingle back into the enclosure disinfect and clean the cage so there is no scent of the blue tongue to avoid territorial disputes.
Can you tell me more about the pygmy stimson from FNQ?
There is a whole chapter dedicated to it in The Complete Children's Python book
@CrittaCam haven't been able to get hold of it, last time I had a look it was out of stock at alot of places, I'll have a look again, cheers.
@CrittaCam there seems to be alot of debate as to where they're actually from and not alot of other information online about them. I'm just keen to know more, thanks.
Is this what they call a "lemon sided Stimson"??
Are those full grown size?
What do you feed your babies once they start eating that is?
i offer them 6 feeds of pinky mice then they move onto fuzzy mice for around 20-30 feeds before jumping up the next size
CrittaCam how much would you sell a pair of glow worms for 😍
Really wish I could find these in the UK
Would be pretty much impossible if you haven't found them already. To the best of my knowledge, Australia dropped the exportation of reptiles back in the 70s. Be nice to see that ban lifted.
I am from Connecticut, USA and it took a while to locate one and it was worth the wait. Keep checking the internet.
The glow worms are beautiful!
Just got a stimmie today very excited
Getting a stimmie soon very excited
I would love to own one of your glow worms!!!
Thanks Peter!
I got a hatchling Stimson's python today and named it Kaa
we don't know the gender so that's why we called it Kaa it being a name for both genders
Enjoyed the topic and your obvious passion for this species. Disagree with your focus on selective breeding - which usually means artificially breeding relatives to each other. Dad to daughter; mom to son. In the end, you achieve your selective physical traits for color or pattern, but you "dumb down" the genetic line by creating mutants which would NOT have occurred in nature. Let's give your ideology & breeding habits the Fairness Test. It's a single question: Is it appropriate to breed you to your daughter or niece - to achieve specific traits? Just checking...
So I am curious is it possible to produce a Scaleless Stimson??
Anything is possible with the right genetics
Did anyone come up with albino yet
Albino spotted pythons yes
Shouldn't they have hides, also you shouldn't just reach in a grab them so fast
