I have recently submitted EOI (Expression of Interest) through SkillSelect service for Immigration to Australia.
This include English test (IELTS for Immigration), Skills assessment (ACS or Australian Computer Society), Employment details and personal details.
After EOI submission, the application gets in queue and visa invitations are issues twice a month. Users are notified via email.
Any change in EOI application will reset its position in the queue for visa invitations. So, do that carefully.

1-I already have one Employee Reference Letter signed by my Manager, that i got during my US visa processing on 1Feb2016.Do I need get a new one again with recent date ?.
This letter is not from the HR Department .Is that sufficient or do I need to get separate letter from HR Dept as well?
2- Is the following details Mandatory in Employment reference letter - Office Seal/Stamp,Contact Number Manager ,Email ID Id
In my ref letter Manager has hand written his name & sign above his designation in the company letter head.There is no Contact number or Email Id and document have no seal/Stamp .Any problem??..
3-I can download current employment proof from Company portal. Do I need to attach this along with employee ref letter?.
5-I am working in same company for the last 5.5 years . Do i need to upload my 1st & Latest payslips?.

If we go for multiple assessment what will be fees?.

@desi down under in my experience assement EA has accepted my 2 employment experience out of 4, bcz my 2 companies refused to provide me exp letter with responsibilities so those experiences are not counted by them. the 2 experience which as been accepted by EA is less than 3 years, so can I claim points for that?

I will go with EA but I have two concerns: (i) Is it mandatory to get skill assessed by EA? I heard from another that it is not necessary as the immigration officer will do the assessment himself so you can just skip the assessment part with EA. (ii) I have read ACS deducts some experience years like you have also mentioned in the video, does EA do the same?

As my understanding while i am selecting the VISA TYPES (Independent subclass 189 ) : in case if get a good score with IELTS 60 points , IF get below mark should i select here (subclass 489) or (Subclass 187) which means by getting sponsered i will get more than 60 points reach .

I have a question though, I fall under 261314 Software Tester in CSOL and this occupation isn't available in SOL which drives me to apply for Subclass 190 (and not 189). I have all my educational docs and employment docs scanned and ready, but confused about the ACS assessment. Is it an online process or should we send the docs (photocopied) to ACS?
ACS is completely online. No paper documentation required.
I submitted following in PDFs:
Passport
CV (optional but good to have)
Degree + Transcript (no need for school/college certificates)
Reference Letters (for each employment period)

Passport and CV are OK! We need the graduation docs right? I have semester wise docs and a Consolidated marks memo and a convocation and the Degree certificate! Do we need all of them? And I know what to submit for the Employment proofs :)

Great walk through guide. A quick question though. I am employed for the last 11 years out of which ACS has considered only the last 7 years of employment as fit for my ANZSCO code. I understand from comments here that only 7 years of points will be claimed, however in this 7 years - 3 years of experience is Australian and the rest overseas, This is not reflected in the ACS letter though. Is it mandatory that this information be in the ACS letter for me to claim points for Australian experience.
Not sure but there should be an option in EOI (and visa) application to specify if experience is Australian or overseas. That way you'd be able to get extra points for Australian experience.

I have a question regarding experience. I have 6 years of experience under same employer ABC in the same location but I have 5 different designations throughout the period due to getting promoted. My responsibilities for all 5 designations are similar. Therefore, my employer issued one reference letter mentioning designations with their periods and one list of responsibilities at the end. When submitting the employment details in ACS, I have created one entry with last designation but covering full period. Now my ACS assessment shows like below

When submitting the EOI, should I split the experience based on the designation (entry for each designation, even though ACS letter mentioned only the last designation)? What is the correct way to submit experience ? I have to anyway split the record for the period from 2011 to 2013(not related) and after 2013(related). My confusion is about the designations, because ACS only shows my last designation. Thank you very much for your support.

Yes, you can. Condition is that you are still working for the same employer and same position. I believe you can add maximum 1 year following the ACS assessment.

Hi Muhammad. Firstly I would like to thank you for posting such a clear video. Many of us have lot of information but important is how much we give back. Appreciate your generosity. I have a couple of questions, which are related to PR 189 skilled visa. Here they are -
1. How to get reference letter from the employer where you are working currently as they are not aware that I want to file PR Visa?
2. I have worked on Job1 say from 10th May 2009 to 10th April 2009 as Software Engineer. I was also working as software trainer for 6 months in parallel. Can you tell me as per your knowledge, will ACS consider it as total of 1 year and 6 months of experience? Should I even show the additional 6 months in the employment details section of EOI.

1 - The other option is to go for statutory declaration. It's basically a declaration from a colleague that you're working in that company.
2 - ACS doesn't recognise parallel or overlapping jobs. I'd go for one job entry only in assessment application.

To specify: My work experience was assessed until December16 and considered "skilled" until then, but the actual asessment letter states a Date in June17. Which one did you pick? I have one question about the employment start date - I started working from aug 6 2012 and currently work in the same company. So, how should I select the dates while filing EOI? , since ACS says after august 2014, should i fill the start date as sept 1 2014 ? Could you please me on this.
You should add all employment periods as long as they are recognized by ACS.
However, you can claim points for experience calculated after meeting the "Skilled Level" which in your case seems to be Aug 2014. So, you'll add all experience but split them and experience starting from 1 Sep 2014 will be selected as "Relevant".
I did same with mine as you can see in the video.

So I need to enter this employment two times? Like from may 2007 to december 2007 with no points claim and then again from january 2009 to october 2009 with points claim?

I am a bit confused about the date of skill assessment to be filled in my EOi as there are two dates mentioned in my assessment report.
*Should I fill the date of assessment which is mentioned at the top of the assessment report(Which is the actual date when I received the assessment letter)?
or
*Should I fill the assessment date as when Australian Computer Society received the assessment request (When I actually submitted the skill assessment)?

Hi, Thank you very much for uploading very helpful video. I recieved my ACS Skill asessment, and they have mentioned as below:
The following employment after October 2009 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately

But they have recognized all my employment starting from Aug 2008. But mentioned employment after Oct 2009 is at skilled level.
So my question is:
1) Should I declare all my experience starting from Aug 2008 and select as NO until Oct 2009 and not claiming points?
2) Should I select YES for my experience starting from Oct 2009 or Nov 2009 to be considered for points claim?

1- Yes and ending date will be Oct 2009 (no points till this time and it includes Oct 2009)

I would like to share ACS has deducted 4 years and 2 months from my overall experience and informed to count my skilled experience only from Nov 2009 ( my work experience starts from Aug 2005) even though they have confirmed I have ICT Major and my nominated occupation is suitable and related to my qualification.
Please share any idea, why they deducted 4 years and 2 months instead of 2 years.

@@desidownunder2085 I have a very important question on the same. I have worked in one company from May 2018 till July 2021. My ACS letter says that I can consider experience from May 2020 as 2 years they have considered for suitability. So how do I put that company experience in EOI application. Shall i make 2 entries for the same employer : one from May 2018 to May 2020 and select No : second entry for same employer from May 2020 to July 2021 and select yes. Or shall i make single entry from May 2018 til July 2021 and select Yes.

1. Can I update the EOI file on any day from 189 to 190 class after obtaining the state nomination.
2. What they mean by future application when they ask for family member details. What should be the right answer for following these two questions. In my case I would take my spouse along with me and later on i will call my parents also to live with me in Australia.
i. are there any family member the client would like to include in a future application ?
ii. would the client be accompanied by the client partner in a future application ?

1- Some people file 2 EOI applications simultaneously i.e. for 189 and 190. Try looking into that.

How many months are usually taken by Australian govt. to assess the EOI and provide final result/invite?
EOI is automatic. Every month usually 2 rounds are conducted. If you've enough points, you'll automatically get the invitation to apply for visa.

Yes, I think you can do it.
On a side note, EOI date is reset if the points change.

Hi can i update EOI once my one year work experience(in Australia) is completed or do i need to wait for skill assessment from ACS. my work experience will be completed in 5th of sept. and i am planning to update my EOI on the same day and then lodge for skill assessment for acs. You can only add experience/education in EOI that has been assessed by ACS.

Sorry, don't remember correctly but you'd need to provide all the relevant details during EOI.
Why you did not claim points for all your jobs . I see from the video all of them were Network Engineer. ?
ACS (my assessment authority) doesn't allow us to use a certain chunk of experience (2 years) to claim points. That's why it has to be marked as irrelevant.
If it's post graduate does it come under masters? 4:01
Do I need to get my education also accessed by any Australian agency? I am getting my work skills (Software Engineering) accessed via ACS-RPL since my B.tech is in electrical engineering. Do I need to get my education accessed separately for getting 15 points for education?
Should be done by same assessment agency, as far as I know.

Yes. You need 7 in each of the modules to claim points.

I got colored copies certified from notary (lawyer) about 7 years ago for my application.

Desi Down Under, i have a previous active health clearance under My Health Declarations which I used during my subclass 500 visa application. If i will lodge my skilled visa and include my dependents, how will I know when its time to take their health checks? Should lodge and wait for the CO's advise or I can do it prior to lodging? May i know the reason why you have selected "No" for "Is this employment related to nominated occupation", even though u have selected the same network engineer as the prior one.

1- ACS deducted first 2 years of my valid experience so, I can't claim points for it. Selecting 'No' means I'm not claiming points for it.
2- Yes, you must first get your education/experience assessed by the assessing authority. In my case, it was ACS.
3- It's pretty difficult but check the "ANZCO Code" PDF on ACS site to get an idea.

1.what would be the number of years evaluated as work experience by the ACS authority?
2.what other documents should I produce from my previous and current employers, kindly brief me what statutory/affidavit of work experience mean, and by whom should it be authorized(I am from India)?
3.How many years from experience will be deducted for my part time masters degree? Would you advice me to not include my highest earned degree as masters as it might reduce my years of experience?
4.When will the ANZCO code be revised for the year 2017, I am planning to send EOI in the month of June'17, will there be a change by the
time I send for skill assessment and update EOI.
1- Without reference letters, you'd have to go for Statutory Declaration.
2- Statutory Declaration is details of your duties signed by a colleague (preferably of higher rank) in front of a legal authority (a judge?).
3- As far as I know, ACS doesn't count any experience gained during the education so, you might want to consider this before filing an application with the MS.
4- They are usually revised in June. On a side note, Software Engineer is a highly competitive field so don't waste any time and try to get as many points as possible.
