You are an effing nerd legend (and general legend).
Right, and I forgot to mention that your hobby has a Wife Acceptance Factor of ZERO. Hero.
Keep up the good work. I’m loving vicariously through you!!!
I have a bricked Throttle mate, I live in Australia. I am on your discord.
I'm a VR player, but I love cockpit building!
7:00 😂👍
Yes! Sign me up :D
This could be the only a10 ever to grace Australia.
Mate - came across your channel two days ago. Looks shit hot and inspires an upgrade at my end. Blackening the room does heaps and I dont even fly. cheers
Pumped to see how far you can take this
RIP A10 on screen
Can't wait to see the rooms Dark mode 👍
Mate absolutely love this and the work thats gone into it. Plus all of the info on your website is invaluable.
Hoping to convince the wife to make my own some day.
Also hope to catch you on DCS some time 👌
Nothing beats the immersion of the real stuff, VR is great but man, the work and thought you put in the project itself it's something to behold.
Haven't caught you on Twitch yet, but please keep this going. Yours and Viper Simmer's channels give me lots of stuff to drool over, I'm super grateful for the work you put in both building and maintaining the cockpit, and also the effort that goes into producing these videos to show it off. Folks like you are what make the flight simming hobby so cool, honestly.
Love your work! So awesome to follow the development!
It just keeps getting better and better, I enjoy the technical parts
Pls make a vid on disassembling the sim & assembling it back!
i dare you to make the ejection seat work XD
No, you are the f€&@ legend!
Great channel, love the build videos and seeing the new buttons/dials/gauges in action. Keep it up!
Mate I thought the first few footage was from real world A-10videos . What a work! Happy New Year!
potential idea for the throttle rebuild: a solonoid operated toggle AB detent, so you can switch between having AB or full travel instantly depending on what jet you're flying. Also while not A-10 accurate, maybe finger lifts too?
50k subs that's awesome!
congrats on 50k
Thx for the videos m8
Love watching what you make for you cockpit THEN you post all relevant codes and what not for others to have a crack at it! Absolute legend! Looking forward to this year's mods.
I was just watching your Right Console vid from a couple of years ago and thought I'd comment about the part where you said the Internal lighting panel doesn't connect to the sim because it just uses a dimmer box of some sort.
What I did was use an Arduino board which sends the analogue data through to the sim as per normal (so you can see it change in VR etc) however I also send several variable voltage outputs into a few Mosfet switch boards, these can convert 5v variable into 12v variable if needed.
So I've got Mosfets for 12v console, 5v console, 12v inst panel, 5v inst panel, 12v flood, 5v warning. Each output of the mosfets feed a dupont rail so all the lighting can be plugged in as needed.
Dunno if that helps, you may have already replaced it but thought I'd share.
As always amazing ideas looking forward to them coming to fruition
subbed bcuz ur sick setup sparked a project im almost done with.. this channel is one of those hidden gems and i appreciate you frfr
Mate I love the Warthog and your simulator is just insane, well done. I love the fact you did so much to make it as real as possible, and can access a beer fridge lol. Have an awesome 2023 and spell my name right on your chest
Me thinking he means to help his kids get into the cockpit better.
“also I can reach the beer fridge better”
Well, that too.
VR is cool, but as someone starting to embark on a sim pit I've actually made the decision to stick with screen/projectors for the ability to see the cockpit I'd like to build. Like you I feel augmented reality would be the best way to go for these systems
You sir, are a legend! Please keep this going.
Definitely looking forward to your updates. The A-10 is one of my all-time favorite planes and your simulator is just awesome.
I love the videos. They are what help me finally get into the DCS. Though my setup is nothing like what you got (just a X52 pro hotas). But it makes me dream of one day.
Love it! I've got to ask: have you ever considered throwing a game other than DCS up on it just to see how it looks? Would love to see Elite Dangerous! Although I know it'll be super distorted since ED is not great at extremely wide resolutions. Or Star Citizen! Which apparently occasionally has free-to-play days that don't require you to subscribe.
Idk if Star Citizen supports this but it sure would be incredible to see.
2:58 🤣👌
I've been following your build for some years now, and everything you do here is premium content!
I love the fact that you go so far, to source real parts, AND make them work for you!
Is this the most bad-ass SimPit on UA-cam? The 50K subscribers are well earned. Remember seeing this for the first time and I was blown away. The beer fridge is just over the top! Happy New Year!
Just curious if you have looked into Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screen technology? From what I understand it makes a huge difference in contrast. Not sure if the screens can be custom fit for your application, but wow, that would be really cool in addition to the room darkening steps you are taking.
Have you thought about worn-out lifting slings/strops as seatbelts...
omg i couldnt imaging being a kid and being able to jump in that thing. im jelous
Congratulations, you really have deserved it, with being an inspiration to us all cockpit builders!
When you talked about the linear actuator for your wife and kids, I was thinking what a lovely bloke, doing that for his family. Immediately says you now can also reach the beer fridge, AH the real reason hahaha
I asked Santa for one of these for Christmas but sadly I got socks instead. :(
You could make your kill marks based on your best play session or on your dcs stats
Next step should be a real helmet, with real nods so you can adjust your gain like the real deal :P
Ive been following your build for years and years, but only just recently subscribed, amazing to see you at 50k, congrats! keep up the amazing build
Do you plan on changing the LEDs in the real panel, so they fit the rest of the cockpit?
Just hoping some of your exemplary agency and hyperfocus will rub off on me so I can achieve literally anything worthwhile beyond survival in the coming year... Kinda joking but not really.
It's nice you want your children to get in, but why do you need to get the seat back to get at the beer fridge? Isn't that what the children are for?
I see your a bad dad
@@dryaldibread2327and you’re bad with grammar
@@dryaldibread2327 he's not a bad dad 😂😂 all parents make there kids do stuff they don't want to

@@Dcscinematics140 Not all buddy
Could you add a working ejection seat and give it a try?
I am 1 of 50,000 ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US.....
Have you got a link to that image you showed with the thrustmaster throttle and the real one side by side? I'm in the planning stage of my own throttle build.
Just curious, would it be possible to make your wrap around screen taller using the existing 3 projector setup? Or would you need something more elaborate?
I was still watching for the lolz! Can't wait to see you write my name on your bikini'd chest! 🤣
Cant wait for the Wart-hot tub stream 🤤
Would it add to the experience when firing the canon to flash am amber spot light behind the projection screen - effectively an ambient lighting system?
I'm upping my wife's life insurance limit in case you ever put this up for sale.
Hey,
any plans for an functional HMD?
I am planning to start with a Apache Pilot Cockpit Project in the Future.
The biggest Part for my Opinion is the IHADSS, but nothing is impossible...
I don’t know if your still looking for a warthog Thrustmaster throttle quad. I have one that’s working all but a few switches. I’ll donate it to the project if you wanna pay the shipping.
You mean you'll no longer accidentally hit the eject when you get out to get a beer??
I really enjoy your videos and I have a question.
How do you deal with the switch positions if you get shot down? Do you have a checklist to align the switches with the sim or do you have a program to tell you which ones are in the wrong position?
Where did you get the F14 and A10 painting or pics at?????? (War plane art)
Was wondering the same thing
Whats the brand of trackball?
Hey could you please post the link to the small trackball mouse you mention? I can't find it anywhere
hello from Sweden you have inspirerad my to try build a sim pit for a JAS 39 gripen C thank you! Look
forward to se you hotas build, hope you do it in chanel sow we can watch it :)
what are those plane models hung up on the wall called?
Just curious, have you looked into the WinWing throttles? Though im sure you are pretty committed to using your current one as your setup is built around it, but might be worth a look. They just released the Orion 2 throttle.
7:07 Hog tub stream? ;)
The new Academy 1/48 A-10C? 😉
Holy shit how did I miss that one. I'm in.
@@thewarthogproject Take a look on here for the reviews, it’s glorious. The rivet counters are jumping on it for some shape inaccuracies, but it looks fine to me.
@@mmouseav8r402 looks awesome and I ordered one. I'm just happy to have an A-10C that doesn't have an A cockpit.
Do you have the hmcs implemented with track ir?
What he really needs is to build an actual head-mounted device so that the HMCS symbology is projected into his eye like the real thing
Are you having issues with the latest DCS update. DCS-Bios basically stopped working right after 01/25 update. I would like to check with you. Thanks.
No issues here it's been running fine for me.
@@thewarthogproject Thanks for getting back to me. once I knew it was not an update I disconnect all the panels and connect one by one. It was the counter meassure panel. some how the arduino was not powered. it shut down the whole sim. Another question, my lights panel for the A10 you know it have like 5 potentiomers it works fine if I just connect it (alone) to the PC on USB port. but If I use a regular USB HUB just for power it does not work. also the same with the SAS panel since it has potentiometer. Can you mix (Slave-master) with the non version? Thanks.
@@JuanRamirez-gr1jc I don't use any networking with my Arduinos, just straight to the usb hubs. I've had problems in the past with usb disconnecting, and I found that nine out of ten times the issue was the cheap cables I was using. Don't use the crap blue ones that come with knock off Arduinos. Also, for some reason some cheap Arduinos only like usb 2.0, so try using one of those ports instead of USB 3.0
first lol. do i win something?
For your next project to integrate your cockpit to this

It would be EPIC!
I want my name on your forehead please. 🤣
I'm probably only the 1,000th person to ask this, but why aren't we sending these to Ukraine?
you should try VTOL VR
Do you have a real job?
