My Grandfather had a 100 acre farm in ,Horry County, South Carolina. He raised tobacco and cotton. Every summer we go to the farm and visit for two weeks. Those were the best memories with my Grandma and my mother’s family. Every fruit tree imaginable, any kind melons, vegetable gardens, fresh eggs, hogs, cattle and cows. Mules to ride. I loved it.
I really enjoy your humor, and the realism of your farm and videos. This is true small scale farming that most people could accomplish, infact it is a dream of mine. Farming with my grandpa like you farm was a highlight of my growing up and young adult life.
Hi Pete, I've enjoyed watching your UA-cam all winter long. I grew up (1950's-1960's) on a small Dairy Farm in the Red River Valley of Minnesota. My Dad owned 160 acres, we milked 27-30 Holstein cows, grade A milk, 200-300 chickens and sold eggs, we grew all the small grains and corn, my Dad purchased a new Allis Chalmers WD-45 in 1955 and all the AC implements that attached to it (Cultivators, tandem disk, mower, 3-bottom plow, round bailer, etc.), so I grew up enjoying the cows and running the farm equipment. In my teen years I worked for two farmers who owned Farmall B's, Farmall 400, McCormick Deering WD-9, F-12 and F-20, and AC WD-45. They were also Dairy farmers, so I bailed a lot of hay, milked a lot of cows and cultivated a lot of corn and spread a lot of Cow fertilizer. Farming was always my first love, but the Lord Jesus Christ called me into the ministry, so I've been an Assembly of God ordained minister since the early 1970's and now that I am in my '70s, I am retired, but still reflect on my wonderful heritage of growing up on a Farm. Keep up the good old days on your good old tractors, I enjoy watching.
I’ve looked at huge number of restored tractors and, they have nothing on your restorations. The difference is, you use your tractors for what they were made for. Fabulous work and preservation of farm equipment. Thanks for yet another super video.
Ha! When you sprayed the water on the tractor, you could hear each cylinder start firing again properly! They don’t make em like that anymore! Great video Pete.
The 5g chip/chip/tinfoil hat joke AND a JD tractor joke in one video??? Makes putting up with the awwwwwful dadjokes worth it! :D Keep up the great work Pete, thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Pete, it makes me feel so good to see you enjoying your daily chores. You are so right about the secret of happiness. You have truly achieved it. Bless you and yours my friend.
Hi Pete. Just watched your video about how you took a six month leave from your job and eventually quit. Good for you sir. I was in the same boat. I was a Manager at a small Oil exploration and production company. I was not happy, but they paid me crazy well. I was 57 and miserable. Covid hit and they let me go. Best thing that ever happened. I retired at 57 and never looked back. I had saved my whole life and was more than ready. Just never realized it. So happy for you to find your passion at a young age. Best of luck to you! Love your channel!
Thank you Pete. By the way, I restored/own a 1939 McCormick-Deering T-20. That's the tracked version of your 1939 F-20. It has the same 4-cylinder gas engine and I believe the same transmission. But, of course, no steering wheel.
@@eltsennestle998 Fifty years from now, modern machine will have long since been junked, but that old American cast iron and steel will still be earning it's keep!
This channel brings back old memories, I'm 81 yrs old and a Ohio Farm Boy, Back in the year Farmall always won the Tractor Pull Contest at the County Fairs.
The memory's return! The small spreaders and tractors. We had a bigger operation and farther to haul. We had 4 spreaders like yours only new hollands, pulled by 2 JD B's a JD A and Farmall H. Every spring after school and Saturdays. My brother I and two niebor kids drove the spreaders and did did the loading with a JD 70 with a farmhand loader.
Love those farmer jokes! Marvel Mystery oil, it's all in the fragrance! We called our spreader "cow paddy!" Just wear a wide brined hat & sun glasses & keep your mouth closed while spreading
I enjoyed the adventurous filmmaking here. A few interesting angles, a little goofiness, and a fade out at the end. Good to mix things up now and again.
Hello again, Peter. Enjoying you spreading the manure. What else to do on this day, my 66th birthday. Not the only thing on my list for celebrations. Seeing friends later. My husband and & I have had our two shots... yea!! Now back to living.
Listening to those tractor sure brings me back to my youth of growing up on a farm sure do miss it one of the best lives you can have God bless and take care
Pete Fun funny , my day job is driving , while waiting for people my phone sits on the dash as I watch pete videos . My boy and I are working on our pile w the h and putting together our av . Thanks for killing time w us 😆
🤣😂😝. This was so fun! On your shot when you drove the tractor over the camera I actually ducked my head down 😂. Then your head protection gave me a good belly laugh. Talk about a super fun way to spread the poop...it’s enjoyable to see you having so much fun even when you’re working hard. ❤️
You did a great job, as always. She sure is a beautiful old tractor! The oldest one I ever worked around was a Hart-Parr. It hasld steel wheels and chain system that was part of the steering and a big magneto. Used it in the Spring to spread bank run gravel on the lane that went to the back of the farm. That was back when I was 15 and growing up in Southwestern Ohio. Those were good years. We didn't have much money, but we didn't know it.

I'm new to your channel Pete, and catching up on all your old videos. I have said it before in previous comments, and will say it again. You leaving your job to farm is my inspiration!!
I come from a family of practical jokers. As a kid, I loved to watch my dad use farm machinery. He was using the same type of spreader as you are using. Wanting to see how it worked I stood a little too close to the back of the spreader. Dad thought it was funny until mom got a look at me and had to clean me up. You could say "The joke (or something else) was on me!"
You know I love old tractors just like you but I like an assortment. I've had Allis Chalmers, Farmall, Ford, John Deere....they are all very cool. lol Every one of them can take a beating in the field.
Great video again. You are always so precise in explaining in tractor procedure, especially with the vintage models. Before you started cranking I was yelling in my phone " You didn't turn the gas on!!" Happens to all of us one time or another. 😁
That foil hat could turn you into a lighting rod and that wouldn't cool your head. Thanks for the laughs, now days we can use all we can get. God bless you and yours.

Your restoration on the '39 tractor is amazing. I really enjoy your videos, especially the info about how to run a farm & your use of classic old machinery.
Love the comment about how you can make your farmall sound like a deere. I believe it was a previous video but still the nostalgia runs deep here as I grew up where John deere did and now my boyfriend sells deere parts. I love how much info you can cram into a few minute video. You and your fam are an inspiration to me and the family farm.
My Dad had an F20 back in the 60s that was our loader tractor and rock puller. He sold it on a farm sale for $75 dollars. Sure wish we had it back. Hillary didn't talk to the pigs. Run Run Run, o i forgot there to fat now. Thanks for sharing. 80 degrees now in Iowa
That is funny! Years ago we actually had a guy at work that thought the aliens were trying to infiltrate his mind so he would wear aluminum foil under his ball cap. Great video thanks for sharing!
OMG Pete I'm dying..... Your tin foil cap and how you just got on the tractor so casually like there was nothing different.
I laughed out loud when I saw that!!

I'm sure people are wondering why you still have chains on but it's definitely smart as April always has surprises.
You know if I take them off then it's going to snow...I'll probably take them off after I finish with manure.
