      You'd think when the government issued voucher for a digital antenna tuner, sales tax would automatically be discounted since the whole thing was meant to be free, that was the WHOLE POINT of issuing the vouchers in 2009-2010 when the digital switch over happened, and what's the point in having the government buy an antenna tuner and paying sales tax to the government, but I had the unfortunate experience of getting that one idiot who tried to charge a poor college student over a hundred dollars in sales tax when the antenna tuner itself was only 125$. She didn't like my point it was a government voucher and the whole thing was supposed to be payment and tax free since it was a decision unilaterally made by the government that would put a lot of people at a disadvantage and said I still owed her over a hundred dollars in tax. Either that or they were a scammer trying to get one over me.
      I took my voucher elsewhere and didn't have a problem. Funny that.

    I was unfortunately involved in an adult temper tantrum a couple days ago. However, I'm pretty sure part of it was my fault. She ordered two horribly complex cheeseburgers, so when I handed them to her in the drive thru, she just sat there to check that they were correct. My managers were getting huffy because she was holding up the line, so I asked her if she could leave the drive thru and come inside if her order was incorrect. She blew up at me, called me some names which I thankfully zoned out for because I was super tired. The managers had me leave the window until the crazy lady was gone. I explained that I was only trying to help. I'm pretty sure my managers learned that day that 1. They should be careful what they say and do around me because I tend to think I'm helping by doing what I'm not supposed to, and 2. That I can give the same energy people are giving me in a heartbeat

    When my former colleague/friend, a middle-aged mother of two grown children and was also a grandmother (relevant to the story) got fired for fudging her resume and plagiarism. She was ranting and raving about unprofessionalism, how she had ’20 years in the business’ and how no one respected her. "I'm a writer! I know what I'm doing!” I got so sick and tired of listening to her whine and cry that I finally went off on her. I said: "Would you shut up?! ‘You know what you're doing?’ The piece of fiction you call a resumé is full of typos and you can't even spell simple grade school-level words correctly. There's no A in positive, you idiot!” She looked like she'd been slapped with a cold fish. She grabbed her purse and stormed out like a spoiled middle school mean girl. We're not friends anymore.

    I've told this story a few times in multiple places. I did not work there, but I was an observer to the goings on. Varsity area Walmart. Carts are not permitted out through the exit into the mall proper this Walmart is attached to. This woman not only wants to take a cart that way, but it is a completely loaded cart, and she wants to go through 15 items or less.
    On only the second insistence that she cannot do this, the woman begins calling the cashier every slur she can think of for an Asian culture, and probably invents a few new ones in the process. She doesn't even try to get the supervisor to take her side when she realizes they're Asian as well. At one point she says "If I sh_t myself in your store, it's your job to wipe my ass".
    This goes up the chain to security and eventually the manager on duty. Of course, the second she realizes she's not getting what she wants, she begins treating them as badly as she did the first two, including asking the security guard how many times he's failed out of the police academy.
    When actual police show up, because there is literally a Precinct attached to the nearest Professional building, she becomes very calm and starts explaining her side. When the police want the cashier or supervisor's side, her composure breaks and she starts screaming about how "you can't trust them, those (insert yet another Asian slur) just back each other up" before either of them have even opened their mouths.
    When she finds out she's going to be escorted out of the store, she lunges at the cashier, claws out, but is caught by the policeman before she even has the slightest chance of harming this woman, thank God. The escort out turns into an arrest and banning, and I don't see anything more as it is time for me to take my stuff and leave at another check out.
    All that, because she was held to task for wanting to break a very obvious rule. Ironically, I used to live near the "Bad" Walmart in my city, and never saw anything People of Walmart worthy until I moved to this supposedly better part of town.

    The quote goes, "The customer is always right in terms of taste," meaning when it comes to taste, preferences, what you like and want, you as a customer are right. Whatever else relating to the store that you are complaining about and dropping that half quote on, you as the customer are 9/10 times embarrassingly WRONG

    During Christmas time I was in line at an amusement park to get a special ornament for pass holders only (not the mouse) and the guy in front of us said he was there to pick up his wife's. The girl very politely told him the pass holder had to be present. The guy laughed like it was a joke and says "no really I just want to get my wife's ornament" the girl once again stated the policy and it was like a switch. He started getting loud and yelling "just give me the ornament, she's with our kids, what do you want me to do?!" Finally the manager came out and told him to either get his wife or leave. The guy kept going on about the ornament and the manager told him again to leave, he wouldn't so he called security. I got my ornament and left before security showed up.

    A guy I worked with was a real a***ole who thought he was next in line to take over the department. He had spent the last 8 months making fun of the new guy and when that guy was actually chosen to be the new department head the a**hole guy went nuts! He screamed, threw chairs, overturned desks and file cabinets and was escorted out by the cops. He was not a nice person and was not very good at his job so why he thought he deserved a promotion was a mystery to everyone.

    If there were instant consequences for behavior like this, it would stop. We’ve (collective whole) let society overlook and reward tantrums but I can guarantee, if there were severe enough consequences and not be tolerated, would become rare. Children watched their parents or whoever and then viola! Mimic said actions. Even if it costs me my job, I don’t tolerate abuse anymore. I’m worth more than a minimum wage job and I really try to find out where THEY work so I can that to them. Petty? Yes, but oh so satisfying!

    I've seen people kick off because they dont have thr prescription ready, or they ordered it that day and have to wait for the pharmacy to stock it in.
    Ive seen people kick off over other stuff too, one time a woman got so angry and was threatening this poor lady behind the counter, i was ready to jump in but thankfully violence never happend. Pharmcies can be crazy places, doesn't help that the British medical system is crap

    Fun fact, the saying actually is "The customer is always right in a matter of opinion" they are not always factually correct.
    Also, even in a matter of opinion, people are not always right, because people often make decisions that they realize later, they did not actually want, but you should respect their decisions as long as they are reasonable.

    • @Sablestine
      @Sablestine 3 місяці тому +2

      "The customer is always right in matters of taste." was spoken by Harry Gordon Selfridge (and several other businessmen in the early 1900s) to convey that even if a customer wanted something "ugly" it is not the employee's place to criticize them or try to get them to buy something more good looking. "Taste" has a bit of a different connotation than "opinion" --this is just me being nitpicky btw I mean no ill will toward you haha

    Fleas suck by the time humans catch a pet with them their house is infested 9\10
    Flea wash and collars work but not as well if the parasites still exist in your carpet fleas have short lives so the issue is the eggs as even killing adults doesnt mean you kill the eggs. I had to bug bomb my house and flea bath my poor indoor cat outside and camp in a tent for 24 hours to get rid of our infestation.
    It was hell .
    Why we had em my dad kicked my cat outside one day whilst i was at work, he learned his lesson. Indoir cats are indoir for a reason.
    But yeah we now have wood floors instead of carpet parasites are horrible.

    • @elleumm
      @elleumm 3 місяці тому

      Carpet powder can help with that too. You basically sprinkle it on the carpet, use a broom or something to rub it in, then vacuum up the excess. It’s also a good idea to pick up anything on the floor- the edges of curtains, shoes, hampers, boxes, etc. My rescue dog came to us as a puppy with so many parasites that she wasn’t fully grown until she was 1.5 years old. That included fleas- it took us months to get rid of them, but at least they were confined to the basement so we could stay upstairs while we treated.

    I don't know if I'd call this a tantrum, but it was definitely immature behavior that I witnessed. This happened when I saw Titanic. I was 10 at the time, and it was the longest movie I'd have to sit through. I was crossing my legs since they were getting tired, and I accidentally bumped them against the back of woman sitting in front of me She thought I was doing it on purpose, so she threw the ice from her drink back at me. I was shocked, and my dad was furious. I remember he whispered something to the effect of "Don't mind her. She's being a b***h".

    While it's never okay to throw a tantrum like a little child The guy who thought he had a lifetime warranty for the tires was probably just a bit confused as oftentimes tire shops themselves will offer some type of warranty or guarantee but this is not a guarantee from the tire company It is a guarantee from the shop itself
    For example the popular tire shop discount tire basically offers a warranty that if, with a tire you purchased from them, you get a flat tire from like running over a nail or glass or whatever they will replace it for free
    I'm guessing this guy was offered something similar but with alignments where the specific tire shop he purchased his tires at gave him a free lifetime alignment and he wrongfully assumed that it was the tire company giving him this when it was in fact the shop
    Although again this does not justify throwing a tantrum
