@@BrokenNoahhahaha WELL said and I see whatcha did there ;)
Ghouls are potentially immortal, but their sanity isnt. It seems that evenetually, if they live long enough, every ghoul "goes feral"...
I think initial exposure levels also tend to have a pretty major effect on how long until they go feral.
Kat having so many hours into Fallout and never completing the main quest is very Bethesda lul.
yep, only ever finished 3. still have unfinished saves from vegas and 4.
for the show to really be bethesda, it should just randomly freeze every now and then or npc's should appear in the middle of furniture. 😄
I have 2500+ hours in Fallout 4 and have 1 character that made it as far as finding the Institute. Same as Kat, I do my own exploration thing and don't bother with the main quest. Get bored around level 100 and quit playing, then start a new character when I come back to it. I've completed 3 and a seen a chunk of NV. Started 1 and 2, but the turn based combat doesn't hold my interest.
@@vinsanity40k I’ll just say this..Go back and finish New Vegas. The storyline is AMAZING!.
@@vinsanity40k I think there's a moment in Ep 2 or 3 that's meant to be an easter egg to a Bethesda glitch...realted to Max in the armor...
The Golden Rule of the Wastelands: Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time.
What I love is the show acknowledging the VATS system without acknowledging it. Just for gamerunners.
Nerdgasms everytime.
how did they acknowledge it? i haven’t been able to play the game so i probably missed it but i’ve watched a lot of playthroughs so i know what VATS is
@@amelooloo Several of the shootouts in the show go into slow motion and have bullet cams that track the killing shot.
The best example is Cooper catching up to Wilzig in Filly and then having the shootout with the townsfolk.
Yeah its cool but it can't be real VATS because Cooper doesn't have a pipboy.
Ie the ghoul blowing the guys head off would be a critical strike in vats pretty much
Gucy is my favorite character so far, she's a badass.
I see what you did there lol.
The bombing scene was a fantastic example of how to build tension. The viewer knows the back story from the games. You know the worst is going to happen. And you can tell from the setup that it is going to happen at any second. The view of a giant city in the background. A father and a daughter at a nice birthday party, but worrying. Everything so clean and pristine. A glass walled house, which is practically begging to be shattered. The classic flashbulb cameras which evoke the flash of a detonation every time a picture is taken. And the scene draws out for so excruciatingly long. The viewer has to just sit there and sit there and sit there, knowing it is about to happen. When the first detonation finally happens, even that is drawn out in an artistic way. The father and daughter look at the explosion and converse in normal time while everything else goes to super slow motion. The other party attendees appear frozen in time. The fireball rises very slowly and the blast wave approaches at a gentle speed - slow enough for the viewer to think about everything that is about to happen. Slowly enough to think "get down!" and "omg the glass". Then suddenly everything reverts to a normal speed with a shattering blast of chaos.
Plus the little girl playing the daughter was a disturbingly good actor
wow well said!!
@@AL-fl4jk Yeah, can't wait to see her in season 2! (if it gets greenlit) :D
@@LordLOC i thisnk season 2 is confirmed already
@@maduraelknockout It hasn't. There is only talk of what they want to do in season 2 (deathclaws, more vaults and the Enclave etc.) but Amazon has not given the thumbs up for a season 2 yet (see what I did there har har lol)
The Power Armor during the interrogation scene was practical, it kinda functions like a marionette suspended from above with an operator inside doing part of the work. They made a number of practical versions that worked in different ways throughout the series. It's why the CGI turned out so well because they had properly lighted reference models to work from.
That’s so cool!! I’d really love to see a whole “making of” video for this show.
Wishing the little one a speedy and full recovery and for you to enjoy your "time off" from parental duty!
Yes at the moment my Playtimes are:
Fallout 1: 35 hours (unfinished)
Fallout 2 40 hours (unfinished)
Fallout Tactics: 10 hours (unfinished)
Fallout 3: 250 hours (unfinished)
Fallout New Vegas : 245 hours (unfinished)
Fallout 4: 450 hours (unfinished)
Fallout 76: 200 hours (funnily enough finished)
And yes Team Lootgoblin all the Way Kat
i finished F 1, 2, 3 and 4
never play NV, tactics and 76
but my second playthrough at F 3 and 4 deliberately not finishing the main quest, so i can continue screw things up
@littleollad3219 ah man you're missing out with NV. It's easily the best of any fallout after 2
I wish I could play Fallout 3, 2, 1 and NV, I don't have a PC, Fallout 4 was my introduction lo the saga, I tried 76, I genuinely enjoyed the first 4-6 hours but it's too damn laggy and I don't like being forced to play with survival mode elements in Bethesda games. I come from playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R SoC and the Metro saga so I guess it is my favorite genre of video games. By the way, I love to think that all 3 sagas take place in the same universe, it makes sense to me, honestly.
I'm the same way. I'll get so distracted exploring that I never finish a game.
I've binge-watched the show and absolutely loved it. I was initially worried that the show wouldn't capture the tone of the video game series, but at least in this first season, the showrunnners have nailed it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your reactions to the series!
Jonathan Nolan is a huge fan of the games (he's said in interviews that Fallout 3 was his favorite so far) and one of the other main producers (and writers) Graham something is a huge fan of the series also. Some of the cast are players also (Ella has tried Fallout 4 I think she said but isn't very good with a controller, hence why mouse and keyboard is better heh) and I'd imagine plenty of people in the production crew were fans of the games (I know one of the main costume designers and the guy who handled the power armor stuff were big fans of the series also). So, we got such a good confluence of awesome actors, people who loved the games making the series and just insanely good production values etc. Can't ask for much better.
I love this series. Totally nailed the world. Looking forward to watching the rest of the reactions as they come.
In the fallout lore, these bombs was not focused on direct destruction. Normally nukes would blind someone from that distance for hours, but these ones don't have energy like that. However...Those bombs were made specifically for radiation. They have insane insane amounts of radiation, that is mostly their purpose.
Back in the saddle again! Glad to see you two again :) Hope you have as much fun with this one as I did
Close your eyes when Lucy speaks and you can here Jinxs.
jinx if she was happy and well-adjusted (mostly). 😄
Especially when she's yelling, angry or hurt you can really hear it come through
Young girl playing Janey was fantastic in that opening. Her fear was palpable. And Ella is fantastic as Lucy. Her American accent is amazing. Should be she's practiced it since 15 years old.
Multiple nukes on a population center like LA isn't a strategic strike, that's a 'I'm going to destroy you' strike.
We're told in Fallout 3 D.C. was one of the hardest hit areas in the US so they're getting absolutely glassed at that moment.
Indeed. Stellar performance from that young actress
But don't forget, the nukes in the Fallout universe don't work exactly like they do in real life. They are made to be less destructive overall but just put out a ton more radiation. Hence why Ghouls are a thing, mutants etc. (also because it makes for cool characters and enemies lol)
And that child actress was SO good in that small role. The first 7 minutes of this show are some of the best TV I've seen in the past 20 years imo. You can see the fear in her face (same with Walton of course) and the music that kicks in after the shockwave hits them along with the slower motion of the scene (and the skyscrapers just collapsing in the background etc.) are all just incredible choices to show. And the rest of the episode wasn't bad either :D
@@LordLOC And the low yield is actually worse for everyone, because it kicks up a lot more radioactive debris that spreads ☠️
@@jromero9795 they’re in LA, not DC
Hoping that you and your family get through whatever problems are going on, I really enjoy your channel. Sending you positive vibes from the US. Hope that you also enjoy the show, it’s been a really great adaptation.

So thrilled that you're reacting to this. Being a Fallout veteran myself, it's so much fun watching this with reactors equally familiar with the games who notice all the details that are lost to people who've never played them.
As excited as I am to watch all your reactions, PLEASE don't feel rushed to get them out. We enjoy what you do for "us" but taking care of yourselves absolutely comes first. Anyone who doesn't understand that doesn't matter.
Thank you so much. Be well. 🤗
Oh awesome, so glad y’all are doing this one! This show is really good. Hope y’all enjoy!
Loot goblin sums up my condition perfectly, simple five minute quest turns into a hour of searching everything and stealing ever that isn’t bolted down
they even built a full interior for the Vertibird
I wasn't expecting this show to be nearly as good as it was. Real sleeper hit honestly. Glad to see you reacting to it!
I wouldn’t say sleeper, it’s probably the most popular show out at the moment. And yea, as a long time fan of the series they nailed it!
@@ryanhampson673 I mean sleeper in a sense that I didn't really see any hype for it nor people really expecting it to be good, and then it was actually very good
@@bajscast Oh there is a ton of hype for it online over the last 2 weeks, everywhere I've looked are interviews with the cast and crew and things like that. I think when that first full trailer came out, people realized we might have something S.P.E.C.I.A.L. here.
I have never played Fallout but I already really like this series. Nice review. I hope your baby feels better soon. 👶
if ur a gamer u should play 3, 4 and new Vegas they're great
I’m so glad you guys are reacting to this series! 😁
Walton Goggins is indeed an incredible actor. Not sure if you've ever seen Justified but if you haven't you should definitely watch it. Goggins was only supposed to be in the first episode but he was so good that they decided to keep him in the show for the entire 6 seasons as the shows main antagonist.
Boyd was the deuteragonist, but yes WG was great in it. "We dug coal together!"
@@lonelybanshee8593 Technically he's both the deuteragonist and the antagonist. While he does aid the main character, he only does so when it benefits him and for the most part they are on opposing sides.
I have recognized the Junk Jet before it shoots, just after it`s load sound. The Syringer was not looks like the one in the game but it acceptable since it made in a Vault. The big aircraft is the Prydwen from Fallout 4. It is one of most famous things in the game.
It’s apparently another airship the Gwennan. Which is amusing that they are sticking with the Arthurian naming convention.
@@jonathanedison The Brotherhood has really gone more into the whole Knightly order stuff at this point in the timeline.
@@jonathanedison 1ep time 00:36:29 when kids watching at arriving of ship. On its side you can see name Prydwen like in the game.
My favorite gag of the series so far is Lucy's "Okey dokey" being applied to increasingly desperate and alien circumstances.
The New California Republic had its roots in the first Fallout game when you rescue a girl named Tandi from a gang of raiders. NCR as a faction came to prominence in Fallout 2 where they were a ruling government, which then went on to expand Eastward, which is why you meet them in New Vegas. I highly recommend going back and playing the original games, but probably buy them on GOG, as they usually run with fewer issues than the Steam versions.
I'm SO glad you react to this show ! I hope you'll love it ! It's a very nice adaptation of the game and also a good show :D
The show is supposed to be set roughly 9 years after fallout 4
Yeah, I'm glad they set it after Fallout 4 and not in between earlier games.
Yes, the power armour is practical(of course with some CG mixed in)
There are video clips of the suit behind the scene. Highly articulate.
Walton Goggins just knocked it out of the park with his roles in this series. I ended up catching the flu so I watched the whole series in one sitting.
Hope u feel better soon
all 3 of the main leads were immense
I’ve been crazy about Ella Purnell ever since Arcane, but this is the first time I’ve seen her in live action. I hope this is the role that makes her a star
(I never saw Yellowjackets)
She really is a fabulous actress, and apparently she just can't miss when it comes to video game adaptations.
She's in the movie Kick Ass too, awesome movie
@@yannhollister9091 she is? I’ve seen that…who does she play in it?
@@yannhollister9091 oh, she’s dolce. Huh. Man, she was young in that. Okay cool, another thing I’ve seen her in

The series was much better than I expected. Happy to see you react to it
Your like the 4th reaction channel to clip the Room “i did not” line 😂
So good to join you again. You're the bombe. Looking forward to more Fallout knowledge and lore from you.
I am only at episode 2 because I don't want to rush through the first season. I love Fallout (played 1 - 4 and new vegas, have 76 on steam but didnt play it yet) and this looks so good and they got the details 95% right. The only thing I would have added is a 2 minute introduction like in Fallout 4 to summarize the pre-war world. I think Fallout 4, when starting a new game, did it perfectly. For people who don't know the lore, I think that would have helped. After all, War, war never changes
i bet she plays like me: loot all, explore all, craft all, build all and then you go to the next mission
Approximately.
The perfect match between loot goblin, completionist and righteous murder hobo 🥳
@@KatSonny fighting 1st boss with maximum level and late game gears lol
I first remember Mr. Goggins from the original Shanghai Noon... man I can't believe that movie is so old now.
the T-60 armor in the series is both practical and CGI
That's why they look so good! I knew they couldn't be 100% practical

it's so funny to tell that to maximus that violence against another brother is a sign of weakness when his shit is being kicked out of him in his intro
Yeah, that seemed an odd choice if words. Either urs show the corrupt hypocrisy of the Brotherhood(no way the fo1 version acts like this) or somewhat sloppy writing. I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt here becayse what we see if the BoS in the series, they're just villains. There's no depth.
The minute I saw the Junk Jet, I knew I'd love this show.
I know right! When I saw the Junk Jet, which is a very minor detail and could easily not be included in the show, I knew I'm gonna love this show. It's an easter eggs orgasm 😂
I hadn't visited your channel in a year or two. Goddamn. How are you both even more beautiful?
When they drop the big one hope your in the blast range. Atoms brake apart so fast you never feel pain. Good luck.
I'm on my 3rd watch-through of the series, and I've seen multiple react channels going through the series hahaha can't get enough
You guys seemed to really enjoy this. Knowing what is to come... i cant wait to watch the rest of these reactions. The show is really really good and it did fallout very very well.
Enjoyed that. Hoping things turn around for you as soon as possible.
I love that every reaction I've watched so far, people always hand wave the scars and other peculiarities as being the result of the famine. Which is believable, and it isn't like vault dwellers haven't devolved into cannibals in the past games. It's just funny seeing the same thought process as my own in every single reaction.
Kat: "im a loot goblin"
Me too, ma'am.. me too 😂
Played fallout 4, 4 times... last time i was 80 hours in even before going to find minutemen 😂
Ps, hope your child gets better guys... love from Iran
Stay safe, friend ❤️
This is the reaction I've been waiting for :D
This looks like it will be fun. Looking forward to watching it with you guys.
I'm SO glad you two have at least played the games, sure the other reactions of the "non-fans" are fine but I don't enjoy them as much as people who at least know the basics and things like the Overseer or Stimpaks, always a pleasure watching your channel
In the Fallout universe microprocessors were never invented. Instead, people focused on increasing the use of atomic energy. That’s how you end up with the retro futuristic technologies.
In regards to the guy that got shot with the dolls leg… In the game, you can craft a gun called a Junk Gun. It uses the worthless things you find laying around as ammunition.
Its on point in every single aspect. The perfect example for a show like this done right.
9:00 Outrun what? The radiation? The gammy burst is the bright light that happens as the bombs go off. It travels at the speed of light. Everyone at that party has already taken a lethal dose.
The initial explosion basically wipes out anything within the immediate pressure blast radius. The gamma burst is actually only about half the blast radius so adds little to the immediate kill (everything is dead anyway), but it serves to irradiate debris, which is blasted into the sky as a mushroom cloud and begins to drift downwind, gradually settling to earth.
The result is a slowly spreading downwind tail of lethal fallout. It's radioactive gas, vapour and dust that gets into your lungs and irradiates you from the inside. It further contaminates water and food supplies and keeps killing any living thing for months, years, maybe centuries.
So yeah, if you're not instantly dead, run, and hope that you can get out from under it to clean ground.
I played through Fallout 3, and the first time played Brotherhood of Steel, then Enclave, and the third time Regulators, After that I always played the Regulators, because they were out there among the people who needed them, while the other two isolated themselves and seemed to think the wastelanders not worth their time.
Loveliest reactors IN THE WORLD
I love that y'all are doing this show. It's a blast!. Fallout 4 is my favorite of the series
Looking forward as an old gamer fart, will watch soon. I understand it will need to attract an average audience, I'm quite good at ignoring stupid modern days obligations in TV shows, I think it will be good.
Watched the intro of it, this has always been such a strong theme.
Hoping for epic "leaving the vault" imagery.
The gun shooting doll parts and stuff is a reference to Fallout 3 & 4 which had guns that could launch junk items. The Rock-It Launcher and the Junk Jet.
I remember the one you get on Nuka Cola Island that shoots bowling balls, but I did not remember this particular one
Kat
Kat is a murder hobo? Lol would never have guessed.
Edit: their was a full suit that was practical. Apparently it was 7'2" tall like 2.1 meters and weighed more than 120lbs.
Righteous murder hobo loot goblin with a completionist-gene, indeed
She is so pretty its hard to look at her let alone pay attention to whats going on Im literally awe struck. How is there such beautiful people in the world
Yeah, and Sonny's a lucky guy to have a wife like that. ;)
generally ghouls in fallout become feral over a long period of time, and they usually attack anyone but feral and normal ghouls.
I'm pretty sure in the games just like the show, there's stuff they can consume that helps keep them from going feral. I could have sworn is was straight up radioactive stuff, but maybe I'm mis-remembering.
Yay looting! Fo3 I felt bad leaving junk behind so FO4 I leaned in haha. I stole _every_ single thing that could be looted from the Institute because I wasn'tsure if I'dget another chance. I imagined my kid having a conversation with his assistant about how his mom has problems, cuz even the ash trays, and who steals ash trays???
I only did the full campaign once siding with minutemen and railroad. Mostly I use a mod that lets you start wherever and skip the story just enjoying the world. Also a mod to tweak survival difficulty to something in between normal had mode and stock survival for more immersion without quite so much tedium.
heeey , wishing you guys the best 💖
Amazon definitely grabbed the bloody mess perk. When I saw the gun through the head I knew they were gonna do it justice.
If it hasn't been mentioned yet or you haven't been told yet this show takes place after the games about 10yrs after fallout 4. Bombs dropped in 2077 and this show takes place in 2296.
The credits are still part of the episode as they are connected to each episode they are attached to.
You two are the only ones I’ve seen mention the credit graphics.

Fallout 4 is my 2nd most played game of all time with 500 hours, and in those 500h I managed to completely finish the game ONCE. I have started so many different playthroughs, with mods, etc over the time, so I absolutely relate to Kat

Enjoy! I’ve never played the game but enjoyed the entire series
26:09 Masterful edit. Zero notes.
that dolls leg weapon must be a reference to a weapon in fallout 3 the rock it launcher who shoots about any scraps and things(=
Yeah, he should play New Vegas on the channel. But she should play Outer Wilds (not Outer Worlds) due to its focus on exploration, observation, micro and macro puzzles, and absolutely no handholding whatsoever telling you what to do. But not live, to avoid spoilers. Since its based on knowlegde, you can only play the game once. Obviously read out everything. If you have learned the prerequisites, the answers to the puzzles can be derived from reading the ship log, meaning it's never about doing something completely obscure like in some older point & click adventure games (like Monkey Island).
Hoping you will have a good time with this show.
22:54 funny detail, she patched herself up same way jinx fixed her leg back in arcane :D (ppl probably already said she is the voice actress of jinx)
You mention in the intro that everything in the games counts you believe, yes that's true. This is set after the events of fallout 4 so in universe cannon anything game wise could be featured.
New Vegas is the only one I have played almost fully. I never got to play any others except a very small amount of time playing Fallout4. I don’t know everything about the other Fallout games other than New Vegas, but I loved this series. And I know next season is going to be New Vegas so maybe I will recognize more things next season.
I am not a nitpicky type about continuity I just accept things as they are, but I think they did this very well.
Fallout 4 was awesome! I binge watched Fallout and thoroughly enjoyed it, they nailed it. Love it. :)
I never played the game. The production seems to be excellent.
I really wonder if Maximus's actor delivered that line like Tommy Wisseau on purpose.
Yeah that was either really awesome or really awful. I haven't decided yet. lol
The new California Republic was founded in Fallout 1 a major player in Fallout 2 and a major player in New Vegas
ppl over estmate how big nukes are ... the blast radius . only A few miles.
The games have different endings and it is unknown what the official ending is. The series mainly concerns Fallout New Vegas, the game sets in the year 2281 and the TV show in the year 2296. Guess war will never chance.
Haha loot goblins unite!

Well, the expiriments were different in each vault, so some could be connected while most are not. But, it does make sence from a generational perspective, to be able to trade people, for the very reason they brought up. "Cousin stuff" being the only way to continue the human race could lead to issues.
The Ghoul is using VATS with the Bloody Mess perk lol
Definitely do highly recommend playing New Vegas, especially with this show in mind. It's probably the game that the show has the most connection/easter eggs to, atleast out of the 3d ones.
Granted the graphics are quite dated by now, as well as crashing issues on Windows 10/11, but at it's core it's the deepest game. Best story, dialogue, most meaningful player choices etc.
