    Keep it going. You are doing well. Document/ record as you go. It's cool to record. I wish i had captured some of my early falls, including my early attempts on my drop ins. Every session is different. Some times after you progress, it's hard to be back at that beginning stage. Don't let anyone stop you from what your are doing. And, yes bend those knees.

    If you are scared to be kidnapped i suggest you pick different places to skate at everytime you are going to record because there are such insane/evil and scary people online who would most likely recognize the place you are at and actually camp the place until you arrive and actually kidnap you, you never know, those 250 subs you got it only requires 1 of all of them to live where you live and recognize the places you go to, i don't really wanna make you paranoid by this message but if you are really feeling that you would get kidnapped then this might be something you should think about to always change your routines and times so it wont be so obvious, and also, nice video! goodluck with your skate journey and hopefully you will go far!
    EDIT: Also forgot to mention it would be good to let someone close relative to know where you are going to as well, so they know your "last location" so to speak.

      I’m afraid of getting raped at night time and I’m a dude. There are crazies everywhere, but all jokes aside. I think female are at more risk than guys having bad things happened to them. I live in Philly, which has a high crime rate and skate at night time. Try to skate in a nicer area or in a plaza where a lot of people.

    Tighten the trucks a bunch more, and keep the front truck a little looser than the back truck. Also replace the trucks and wheels when you can with low trucks (I like venture lows), and 54mm 97A wheels.
    Deck brands have different feels and angles to them, you should try as many brands as you can to see what dimensions feel the most right with you.
    Fun things to try, Practice running with your board in your hand and throwing it down and jumping on it as it comes down. Then try learning to stop by kicking the board up with your back food, to catch it in your hand while moving. Also look up powersliding videos!
    Good luck!

    Good luck you two. It's great exercise. First order of business: how to slow down by dragging one foot, how to stop by hanging your heel off the back of the tail and letting it slide against the concrete as a brake.

    Some tips that might help you out:
    - bend your knees more, it'll give you better balance, more confidence and prevent the board from shooting from underneath you before you manage to step off (really important)
    - make sure your front foot isn't too far ahead, you should be able to put all your weight on it without it nose-diving, don't cover the 2 front bolts or only just about cover them
    - keep your legs more apart, especially your back foot seems to be a bit too much in the center of the board - the more apart they are the better your balance, the best position for the back foot is right in the dip/groove of the tail, it'll naturally want to slide in there
    - practice transition from pushing (100% weight on the front foot which should face the nose of the board) to riding (balance closer to 50-50, feet mostly sideways), it's all about getting that front foot to pivoting from being straight to being sideways at the exact time your back foot gets on the board

    @MrBaskins2010 3 місяці тому +1

    incredible progress in such a short span of time
    /in the future you'll wanna move your back foot a little further towards the tail. while stationary, try pivoting the nose of the board in 5 degree increments. forward and back

    If I might make a recommendation. Practice visualizing skateboarding by watching skate videos.
    This has proven to be a means of actually building muscles related to the exercise/sport.
    I've tested this visualization with violin and skateboarding, and reason I can jump back into violin or hop back on a board after 10 years of not skating (which I did in 2022) and is due to regular visualization techniques.

  • @DRS0395
    @DRS0395 3 місяці тому +2

    Hey Veren! Good job.
    What will help is loosening your trucks just a lil bit till you can comfortably correct the boards angle without falling off. Notice earlier in the vid when you try push and you go off to the left (as well as towars the end on the smooth path), and the board stays straightish or to the right? Slightly looser trucks will give you control of balancing it out with the foot on the board.
    Try to also add in some tictacs till you can go from standstill to moving (it's like space walks but without the manual)
    Forgot to add: enjoy the journey, skateboarding is hella fun!

    • @selfawarepotassium
      @selfawarepotassium 3 місяці тому

      Her trucks are already too loose at 2:39 so wouldn’t loosen them more than that.

    • @DRS0395
      @DRS0395 3 місяці тому +1

      @BreakfastBacon her wheels are lifting slightly. They can do a quarter turn more. Either that or she switch to medium bushings but there's no need to replace components when she can just loosen them slightly.
      Don't get me wrong, once she's comfy kick pushing she can tighten them up more. But not being able to adjust the board with your non pushing foot will make it harder
      Another note: check the body language. If she has to make drastic moves to compensate for something her feet should be doing. There's clearly room to tweak.

    As others have said here in comments it is great that you start by riding your skateboard instead of tricks as it builds confidence and board feel. After you are comfortable on your skateboard and can feel how it behaves tricks will become more natural, just being able to easily do tick tacking around is great before doing ollie. Ollie is all about muscle memory and synchronising different at first unnatural movements. Keep going and have fun :)

    At this level the fastest way to improve is just ride everywhere. Don’t drive to your skate spot.. choose a closer spot and ride there and back all the time and everywhere. If you want to get into “tricks”, start with the hippie jump. Hippie Jump is the number 1 beginner step to get used to jumping and getting back on the board.

    • @troublingleaf
      @troublingleaf 3 місяці тому +1

    Keep pushing learn to balance and well first and please get all the protection, helmet,knee pads elbow pads because if you fall hard and get bruised or break a bone you will not want to get back on your board!!! Keep pushing it's what I also love doing 😊
