Great stuff man, the new intro is much slicker and the video quality is noticeably improved. Good luck with patreon, glad to be able to support the channel.
I followed your instructions and my inn came out great. Everyone who sees it says it is the best thing I have ever crafted. I think what really sells it is the detail in the popsicle stick wood planks. It looks so good people insist it was story bought. Thanks for the awesome tutorial! oh yeah, it took about three days of work on and off
You've got a good sense of humor, this was great! I love how the project came out, but I especially love how you were honest enough to say you were bored at that point and didn't feel like drybrushing the boards 🤣
Long projects like this can wear you down for sure, but you did an excellent job building the inn and it shows. Thanks for sharing this as I learned a lot with the methods you used.
Great video. Lots of great techniques and ideas. But my favorite part is when you actually admit to getting sick of the project. It's always comforting to hear someone of your talent can run out of steam too. Best of all, you pushed through and finished the inn. And it look fantastic.
I just found your channel and I love it! My husband has been playing D&D for over 20+ years and I'm new at it. Im an art major and I just have to say your work is amazing.
Revisiting this in 2022 absolutely blasts me with nostalgia. That classic Wyloch music takes me back to when I was just starting to get into 5th edition and fantasy roleplaying in general and the delight and amazement at what a vast and fun hobby that lay before me. Thanks man.
Man,I gotta say, you've made an excellent work on this!it just gave me a bunch of cool ideas on different projects with these steps you've made.congratulations and thanks for the awesome video.
Just an FYI -- as a fifth generation bricklayer/mason: In Colorado -- and other western states -- we veneer with a stone known as "Moss Rock." Moss is known to grown on this stone naturally and comes "ready made" from the mountains. (We encourage people to spray a water and yeast solution on it -- or just beer -- it really helps the moss to grow) At any rate, the moss actually comes in a RIOT of colors: Greens, yellows, golds, reds and even shades of blue. As I say; Just FYI. Your Inn looks fantastic.
really liked the wash on the stucco, it really looks real. and also your homemade flocking is nice looking as well.it would be so easy to create a 2.5d tile to go underneath this for if people go inside. or just use some of the wooden floors you already made. like button!
I just finished this as my first project ever! Let me tell ya, quite an undertaking. I must have spent over 20hrs getting this thing perfect. I learned A TON! Truly exceptional tutorial, Wyloch. In hindsight, I would have liked to have completed some smaller projects first to get a few wins under my belt before starting this. If any first timers see this, I strongly urge you to take that into consideration as you could easily burn yourself out on the construction of this tavern.
Such a cool use of materials and techniques! My dad and I are going to start crafting together, and your crafts are going to be a huge source of inspiration! Can't wait to see what else you make!
I like that a lot, thank you! I am going to make my roof removable, and finish and furnish the inside, ( which will be even more monotonous), but this is the best way I've seen and I've watched ALOT of videos!
+DMBLAIR WULF Yeah, I don't like pure, bold, emerald green for my flocking. I like a muted, slightly yellow-ish green. The "Shamrock" color from CraftSmart is my favorite.
Will do. Likely to be a long project sine I Have limited time.... and I am not good at this stuff. This seems pretty easy to follow so I am hopeful building this will teach some things to carry on to more projects.
wow. always an inspiration to get out there and stop giving up on crafting lol. just from seeing some of your painting teqniques id love to see how you paint minis as well
4:15 I really like your dormer method--suddenly the identical rise/run roof makes good sense. I started my inn with 'dungeoncraft #38' so it's a bit late to reshape, but will certainly keep that in mind for next time. If I want dormers now, it's eyeballing or...math...
Really nice. I appreciate the dormer instructions, for sure (The boards are done as in Ep #8... which is no longer up. Ah, well. I think I can figure that out 😉)
sweet! And also looks like a work of love. Serious amounts of manhours must have been spent on that! Looks fun though. Have you considered making it with a detachable roof, mainly for rpg indoor scenes? I guess it would take even more hours to also do an interior though...
Probably a silly question. What layer am I peeling off the Foam Board? THe whole layer so the foam core is exposed? or just till there is a thing layer of paper? I feel I may have got some dodgey foam board.
Okay thanks, I believe the foam board I have is stubborn. I get a good layer of paper off, but there is a very thin layer left. I'll check the shop for other stuff.
Lol not gonna lie kinda upset that I didn't think to do this stuff years ago sooo jelly. But I now have soooo many craft projects ideas to do in these lock down trying times
Level one pleeb?! How dare you, I'll have you know that I worked extra hard to be a Level TWO pleeb! Nice terrain feature. If I had it my way I'd probably slip a piece of cardboard on the bottom that displays an inn-scene when the building is removed. Wait, that sounds like something DM Scotty would do... Screw it, I'll do it anyway.
I love how thorough your instructions are. Also I wonder, what inspired you to start crafting? I personally have always been into roleplaying since I was a lad, but I had to fill the void when I got a good job and had to quit smoking weed. Crafting is cathartic.
Laine Wiggins The brand is Readi-Board, from Dollar Tree. If you arent US based, try soaking the foam board or applying rubbing alcohol to the paper for a minute.
Great stuff man, the new intro is much slicker and the video quality is noticeably improved.
Good luck with patreon, glad to be able to support the channel.
+Black Magic Craft First! Thanks for that......now, very eager to see your approach to buildings.
I really don't know if I can make one of my house builds into one tutorial...lots of techniques going on, but I'll try.
I followed your instructions and my inn came out great. Everyone who sees it says it is the best thing I have ever crafted. I think what really sells it is the detail in the popsicle stick wood planks. It looks so good people insist it was story bought. Thanks for the awesome tutorial! oh yeah, it took about three days of work on and off
Outstanding, glad to hear it!
Thank you for making things look easy and using materials and tools easily accessible. Gives me courage to try on my own.
You've got a good sense of humor, this was great! I love how the project came out, but I especially love how you were honest enough to say you were bored at that point and didn't feel like drybrushing the boards 🤣
even though im just a student of architecture...
i feel satisfied of your work,it's a epitome of both art and style.
Fantastic! It's the details - you add so many little embellishments that bring your pieces to life.
+Bill Allan Thanks
This is an incredible looking building. The detail is wonderful. Beautiful job.
This is awesome! I would love to see a version where the 3D building lifts off leaving the floor of the inn for playibility.
Thx!
Finally! A video on how to make a really good Inn structure. Good job, this is the only video I found on how to make one of these.
+Pootis Thanks for watching!
You never cease to amaze, Mr. Wyloch. The foam on cardboard trick was very clever.
Out of all the 100s of videos iv watched over the passed 3 weeks this is so super simple yet awesome and exactly what im looking for
Long projects like this can wear you down for sure, but you did an excellent job building the inn and it shows. Thanks for sharing this as I learned a lot with the methods you used.
Thx!
Why did I just find your videos now?! Omg what did I do so wrong to not be this blessed!? I'm so getting my build on in the morning!!
You made this way more understandable that other tutorials. I really like your style and the way you explain. keep it up with the good job.
Thx for watching!
You are gold my friend, an incredible human who makes others lives better! Ty for this video
Looks pretty darn good Wy. Couple things I would try to add to it but there's the beauty of seeing what others have done and add to it.
Rise over run tip= Super helpful, thats why my buildings didn't look right ! Great tip
Great video. Lots of great techniques and ideas. But my favorite part is when you actually admit to getting sick of the project. It's always comforting to hear someone of your talent can run out of steam too. Best of all, you pushed through and finished the inn. And it look fantastic.
+Michka Bailey Thanks
I just found your channel and I love it! My husband has been playing D&D for over 20+ years and I'm new at it. Im an art major and I just have to say your work is amazing.
Thanks!
Great idea about using the foam core and peeling one side so you can texture it. I never would have thought of it.
That tavern is gorgeous! Love the wood trim and the white walls & flocking especially :) Great work!
+Jennifer Gwinn Thanks!!
What an amazing build! It is INCREDIBLE! I am such a fan of your work. I love your dungeon walk troughs too. Such a great channel.
Great ideas, I love the roughed up foam board/aluminum texturizing. Well done!
This has an almost Warcraft-esque feel to it. Your color scheme is very warm too. Good stuff!
Revisiting this in 2022 absolutely blasts me with nostalgia. That classic Wyloch music takes me back to when I was just starting to get into 5th edition and fantasy roleplaying in general and the delight and amazement at what a vast and fun hobby that lay before me.

Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial love all the details you've put into it!!!
this was really impressive. i may attempt to do this when my other projects are completed.

You are officially the best UA-camr. Ad free, amazing videos. Awesome job, and keep up the good work man!
Hahaha, well, um.,.I mean I did enable ads a few years ago... :-/
@@WylochsArmory
It's alright dude. I still enjoy your awesome vids, and include the projects in my own campaign. Keep up the great work!
wow this one is amazing, love the end result of the Inn. Please keep up the good work!
This is a fantastic tutorial and a wonderful result!
Thank's for sharing.
Just found your channel. New to D&D but you have such amazing works of art with these I cannot wait to try some of these out. New fan!
+Wesley Falk Thanks for watching!
I like that a lot, thank you! I am going to make my roof removable, and finish and furnish the inside, ( which will be even more monotonous), but this is the best way I've seen and I've watched ALOT of videos!
So cool I love this idea, I'm using it for inspiration for my Xmas village.
I needed this tutorial. Thanks for sharing. It turned out so amazing!
Good work dude. I'm off to buy all the stuff I need to make my own. Thanks for the inspiration
Such workmanship! Very inspiring!
+Jesse Chalmers Thanks!
awesome work... I like the sawdust flock with the lighter green sawdust...
+DMBLAIR WULF Yeah, I don't like pure, bold, emerald green for my flocking. I like a muted, slightly yellow-ish green. The "Shamrock" color from CraftSmart is my favorite.
Wow, most impressive and creative work on this inn, worth the pain!👍👍
This is a pretty big project. I feel like I need to give you more than one "like."
Going to build this for Frostgrave. Thank you for this.
Rockin!
Share us a pic on the facebook page!
Will do. Likely to be a long project sine I Have limited time.... and I am not good at this stuff. This seems pretty easy to follow so I am hopeful building this will teach some things to carry on to more projects.
Really cool. I appreciate your detailed instructions.
Thx!
Great video & tutorial..., & smart little building to show for it. Well done! 🙂👍
Great looking inn! Thanks for showing the tutorial!
Very cool! Only thing I think is missing would be a small bird's nest around the chimney 😃
wow. always an inspiration to get out there and stop giving up on crafting lol. just from seeing some of your painting teqniques id love to see how you paint minis as well
+Dave Thiessen So would I! I have never tried...
perhaps it is time then...
4:15 I really like your dormer method--suddenly the identical rise/run roof makes good sense. I started my inn with 'dungeoncraft #38' so it's a bit late to reshape, but will certainly keep that in mind for next time. If I want dormers now, it's eyeballing or...math...
Very cool inn! I did little house for «Flames of war»... it's fun to build but it's a long process! ;)
+Monte Cristo Yes indeed!
If you made the walled part separate you could lift off the top of the building to place minis inside for protection.
Interesting approach to a medieval inn. If you cut out the windows, a simple light source could be used for additional effects.
+Stronghold Crafter Kev I did consider that. But got lazy :-) Thanks for watching
These are so good. You deserve more views and subs.
Really nice. I appreciate the dormer instructions, for sure
(The boards are done as in Ep #8... which is no longer up. Ah, well. I think I can figure that out 😉)
Great vid, and keep up the great work. You make it look easy, but damn good!
+MarsKng Thanks!
"Alright, you lvl 1 plebs," if that isn't our DM... amazing build, as always.
This is such a good channel keep on working hard!
Wow that is really nice.
Thx!
This was great! Thank you.
Awesome tutorial ! you made it look soooo easyyyy !
Very cool, and only 127 easy steps. lol
Yes but there "easy steps" lol
It made me laugh too! 😂
Started building this today, thanks bro
It looks wonderful. My only critique is that it's a very small inn. Perhaps they have an exclusive clientele.
very cool in the process of finishing mine i built not as good as yours though
Awesome tutorial mate. Heaps of great tips. Subbed
+Nathan Scown Thanks!
just AWESOME!
So many cool methods! Enjoyed watching this.
+torq21 Thanks!
great tutorial and very very good job!
+Silvio da Fonseca Oliveira Junior Thanks!
Really nice build!
one of my favorite videos! will you be doing another big project like this?
Nice cutting mat
It's a lot of steps, but worth it
sweet! And also looks like a work of love. Serious amounts of manhours must have been spent on that! Looks fun though. Have you considered making it with a detachable roof, mainly for rpg indoor scenes? I guess it would take even more hours to also do an interior though...
+Nikolaj Bourguignon I would just remove this from the table, and use my Tavern Tiles from episode 010 instead. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful and somewhat ambitious, but excellent, no doubt.
Absolutely Amazing.
massive thumps up!
that thing looks amazing!
+Curt Satter Thanks!
Great door!
wow it looks really awesome! would it be possible to make something like this which you can remove and reveal an inner playfield?
Thanks! Yes, many people have done that and shared on facebook (not sure if you're familiar with DM Scotty's Crafts and Games?)
Nope, i'm fairly new to D&D and one of the other players sent me a link to your video's. I'll certainly check him out though ;)
Probably a silly question. What layer am I peeling off the Foam Board? THe whole layer so the foam core is exposed? or just till there is a thing layer of paper? I feel I may have got some dodgey foam board.
Just the thin paper that is attached, leaving the foam itself exposed. Discard the peeled paper.
Okay thanks, I believe the foam board I have is stubborn. I get a good layer of paper off, but there is a very thin layer left. I'll check the shop for other stuff.
Yep, it has to be the really cheap dollar store stuff. Will try and get the exact brand for you.
That was amazing, thank you.
This guys voice is so calming. Hes like bob ross for d&d
FANTASTIC WORK!!!! (But please bring back the beer-chugging! ;)
+Earl Tea Grey TV 'Tis been demoted to behind-the-camera duties.
this may sound stupid but what is 1.4 inches ?
That would be 3.556 cm. Not that it really makes it any easier...
Lol@ 127 easy steps. You are truly a craftsman brother
Amazing Wyloch!!!
+DM Misha Thanks!
It is beautiful
Very cool as usual.
+Joshua Kirk Thanks!
can you please do a video for Christmas nativity scene.
Lol not gonna lie kinda upset that I didn't think to do this stuff years ago sooo jelly. But I now have soooo many craft projects ideas to do in these lock down trying times
Can u do a video on how to make a stadium sorta like a coliseum
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider it.
+Wyloch's Crafting Vids thanks
I personally think it would look great and would like to see/build one myself
super great video
Thx
Great video dude
Level one pleeb?!
How dare you, I'll have you know that I worked extra hard to be a Level TWO pleeb!
Nice terrain feature. If I had it my way I'd probably slip a piece of cardboard on the bottom that displays an inn-scene when the building is removed. Wait, that sounds like something DM Scotty would do...
Screw it, I'll do it anyway.
+TheGradualGhost I intend to use my Tavern Tiles from episode 010.
Wyloch's Crafting Vids That works too.
Have you tried thatch roof yet?
Great vid!
I love how thorough your instructions are. Also I wonder, what inspired you to start crafting? I personally have always been into roleplaying since I was a lad, but I had to fill the void when I got a good job and had to quit smoking weed. Crafting is cathartic.
Trashboat Thx! I started crafting for my games when I found DM Scotty's UA-cam channel (thedmscraft) about five years ago.
Inn your dreams
How do you peel the paper off the foam board is it a specific type of foam board because the one I used the paper had a really hard time coming
Laine Wiggins The brand is Readi-Board, from Dollar Tree. If you arent US based, try soaking the foam board or applying rubbing alcohol to the paper for a minute.
