My Father had Alzheimers and shortly before he died he wanted to hear this song, he sang the chorus to me and I remembered the album growing up. I found it on You Tube and sat beside his hospital bed and played it over and over. He sang it to me and it is a memory that I cannot find words to describe. When I sit and think of my Father I put this video on and listen to this beautiful song.
Ti sono profondamente vicina, una sofferenza profonda come la perdita del proprio padre accompagnata da una melodia così bella. Sono emozioni profonde che fanno crescere e rendere migliori. Un abbraccio
What I love is that John Denver doesn't give in to the temptation of trying to battle with Placido. So many singers who duet with opera stars feel the need to blast out their part as if in competition with the power of the opera singer. John used his own pure sweet voice to good effect.
Hello 👋 Dear. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
I understand that John used the moment as inspiration to sing more naturally, than forcing his voice as it matured. I too used his advice to grow into my voice that can span the hollers
This was our wedding song in 1982. I walked down the aisle to this song and cried all the way. The words captured the true meaning of our love and we are still happily together.

I had an appointment today with a patient that has advanced Alzheimer's. I was talking to her significant other about various 60s folk/rock singers (even though I wasn't born until the 70s), and the patient started singing this tune out of nowhere. I hadn't heard this tune for a while and couldn't place it at first. She was in tune and got most of the words in what was a gorgeous middle finger flipped to the disease in her head. Music won for today.

May 2023, my parents will celebrate 60 years. This song will play after renewal of wedding vows. Mom just survived cancer, and Dad had 9 operations last year. God is good, and so much to be thankful for.
When I was a child, Placido Domingo and John Denver went to my city for a show. My family would never have enough money to buy me a ticket, so I waited one year for public TV to reproduce the show at 2 am. I convinced my mom to stay awake until the show. She stayed with me, and somehow, this song became "Our Song" from my mom and me. When I got married, she walked with me to the stand, and they played that song; she was very emotional and barely held the tears. One year after that, she went to live in heaven as the cancer was already taking its place in her entire body. She passed 55 days before my daughter was born... I can't express my feelings when I heard that song again, all memories that it brings to me
The loss of John Denver cuts through my very soul just as deeply today as it did on this date In 1997. Dearly loved, greatly missed, and forever in our hearts.
@@gracecabrera5989 What I noticed is that Placido is not shown singing in the two sections where his vocal is delayed, against John, "Full of conflict, full of pain//Like a fire when it's cold outside//'Or thunder when it rains."

I remember hearing this song as a 7 year old kid, and have always wondered what and where it was. NOW I KNOW!!!!! This is one of the best days ever for my 47 year old self!
The more I hear John Denver, the more I miss him! Thank you John for all your beautiful, inspirational songs!!! John Denver is surely a one of a kind. He was born to write and sing and entertain us! Thank God for John Denver!
My God I miss John. I listen to him in concert its like he is sitting next to me. I miss John and not only his singing but his sincerity to the outdoors.. Shall John R.I.P.
a few years ago..at my daughter’s wedding .. I danced the father-daughter dance to this song… The line that states… some say love is holding on and some say letting go…. produced 2 smiles and a hug… :-D
The first time I heard this, I was driving alone and cried thinking of my wonderful wife and the love we shared and the life we'd built together. Okay, that sounds sappy as hell but it's true. The delivery and orchestration are absolutely spot on! This is the most romantic version I've ever heard or could imagination.
Hey Bill you are Not alone this beautiful song was made for us who have lost our loves by two fantastic artists who undesrstand what love is..Not everybody does my friend..

Hello 👋 Stacy. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
My dear father used to really like this song. He passed away over 20 years ago. "My memories of love will be of you." I love it too. Such a beautiful song.
I first heard this song in 1983 when I was 17 years old and it has stuck with me forever . it has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung by the most talented artists that ever lived
February 2021 Texas. Can remember when it first came out. Seems like a lifetime ago and yet has never aged. It remains forever beautiful as are the artists. Many thanks.

Perhaps love, is being together where no words are spoken. Perhaps love, is seeing you, touching you with my eyes, that we'll be together untill we go that special place where lovers go, and live forevermore. Perhaps love.
I loved Placido Domingo. Saw him @ LA OPERA in some of his favorite roles. Though not a fan of Denver, this duet is outstanding. They blend their voice, not competing but enhancing each voice. The lyrics demand perfect harmony because love is an extravagant feeling that only The Love of God can give us.
I used to play this song over and over on LP. in high school in the ‘80s dreaming of life that never happened. Didn’t turn out as expected ~ but a good life nevertheless. Love to others watching and remembering the greatness.
Heard this song on the radio today. Made me cry. My Mom loved this song and I remember her buying it in 1981. She died two months ago from Alzheimers. Miss you Mom. ❤❤
Earlier internet age, this song touch to me from the my radio...' s comnected me wif God. Thank ' ou very much sir John & sir Domingos... Your song changed the my world and my soul.
My grandma loved this song, I remember listening to it in her car from a cassette when I was a kid. She passed away three days ago and I was put with the task of choosing the music for her service. This is the first song I knew I would be including.
The vocal harmony of two great singers is a joy to listen but background orchestra music arrangement us equally enchanting it is a good recording that will survive from generation to generation ❤️
One time I walked into my morning class in college in 1990, and this song was playing on the overhead intercom. (The teacher had put together a compilation of different music she liked, and she used that to entertain us before class would begin. A nice gesture on her part.) ...The first time I heard this song, it was tear time. (Almost a flood of tears, which could've drowned the class.) Good thing I came to the teacher after class that day and asked her to make me a copy. I have it, to this day!
The first time I heard this rendition I was brought to tears. Nearly 40 years later, I'm still moved in the same way. John's vision, his truth, and his message of love and peace will never be forgotten.
2021 & still here I am listening to this without breaking down. The last act of love for me is grieving as it shows how much and how deep my love for my Mama since she breathed her last.
This song was playing in my head as I woke up from a dream. My beautiful Mama, I miss her everyday. I'm sure yours was a rare treasure too. Ain't nobody like our Mamas. :) "And even if you lose yourself and don't know what to do, the memory of love will see you through." May you find healing in His time. May you have peace that passes all understanding. May your pains give you wisdom. May hope fill your heart. And may you, above everyone else, be blessed abundantly beyond measure.
Ouvindo em 06/06/2022 A primeira vez que eu ouvir essa música foi na minha infância. Apesar da infância sofrida essa música é uma das poucas lembranças boas que eu tenho. Ainda consigo sentir a mesma emoção. O amor nunca acaba. Deus é a fonte de todo amor 🥰
the price of Love is a a deep, deep pain - to know that one day I or her must walk that lonely road ....alone ...but not without the memory of that sweet kind face. my heart is breaking into a thousand pieces whenever I think of that day....whenever it comes.
Memories of Christmas 1981, my parents, children and my wife opening presents listening to the cassette of John Denver & Placido Domingo singing this, not being able to get enough. I must have worn that tape out! "If I should live forever and all my dreams come true my memories of love will be of you." Amen
John Denver could produce pure strong music without seeming to make any effort . I saw a video of John filling the Sydney Opera House this way.................... pure magic!
I do the same. It speaks to the depth of emotion and the true meaning of love expressed in this serene melody and hauntingly precious lyrics of a timeless song that knows no borders, boundaries or restrictions. We can all feel love it describes at any age, sex, nationality or creed . This song brings back memories of love to see us through.
I read that John denvers manager put this idea together! What a visionary he was to put easy listening john with a male opera singer was genius! One of the best ballads ever recorded! This was before singers got to together or the call it guesting on some one else's record like they do so often now days! I've always love John. I'm a 70,s kid! That was a great generation! Those artists could sing, play instruments! There was so much talent in 70,s! My all time favorite was the carpenters!
My Father had Alzheimers and shortly before he died he wanted to hear this song, he sang the chorus to me and I remembered the album growing up. Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home
Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants to show you more
And even if you lose yourself
And don't know what to do
The memory of love will see you through
Oh, love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don't know
Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of change
Like a fire when it's cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you

Wonderful song, I can't listen to it without crying. The words are so poignant ❤
I love you Lindsay, perhaps in another life ....
So sad we are so apart in time and most likely in distance --- Love from the Finger Lakes
Gets me every time...
I remember hearing this song as a 7 year old kid, and have always wondered what and where it was. NOW I KNOW!!!!! This is one of the best days ever for my 47 year old self!
Exatamente assim..ouvi tinha 10 anos e me emociona até hoje, é linda
Just turned 48, and remember when my dad introduced this song to me. I thought I would hate it. Been a favorite ever since
The more I hear John Denver, the more I miss him!

Agreed. Imagine what else he could have done. Another song of his, Imagine.
In those days, 40 years ago, also Placido’s voice sounds lighter. Still love this version, 40 years later, best! Still brings tears to my eyes 👌
a few years ago..at my daughter’s wedding ..
We need more sappy - no apologies necessary at all.
Bill Cole - We all share one love my friend!
Bill Cole your a lucky man to feel that way
Hey Bill you are Not alone this beautiful song was made for us who have lost our loves by two fantastic artists who undesrstand what love is..Not everybody does my friend..
You are blessed.
This bring me joy and sadness, it was my grandads funeral song and this song is so close to my heart ❤️
A year since my Grandad has passed and I will always quote from this song "my memories of love will be of you" this will be with me for the rest of my life❤️❤️
This is my favorite song by John Denver, I’ll get married to this when I get older!!!!
Still brings tears to my eyes. I would rock my babies and sing this to them. You can always come home and be filled up, when running low on love 🧡
Hello 👋 Stacy. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Isso não é música, é um hino ao amor.
Simplesmente extraordinário
Grande signor @Marcos Tadeu ..... condivido in pieno... è una canzone meravigliosa.. davvero un inno d amore !!!👍🙋🇮🇹
Concordo... Esplêndida!

E por que os compositores não fazem mais músicas lindas como essa?
Wooooow! This song is so beautiful! I fell in love. Thanks! God bless the author of this wonderful melody. happy morning everyone.
My dear father used to really like this song. He passed away over 20 years ago. "My memories of love will be of you." I love it too. Such a beautiful song.
Thank you for posting this beautiful piece of music by two extraordinary people.
This always brings to tears. I didn’t know it when I first heard it, but it perfectly describes the love I hold for my husband
I had it played at my husbands funeral last year after 51 years of marriage. It truly says what l felt for him and still do x
I first heard this song in 1983 when I was 17 years old and it has stuck with me forever . it has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung by the most talented artists that ever lived
This is by definition, Excellence in music. Not sure this will ever be replicated again in our life times. Beautiful work by all, ❤
This version is magical.
What a beautiful combination of two world class greats.
February 2021 Texas. Can remember when it first came out. Seems like a lifetime ago and yet has never aged. It remains forever beautiful as are the artists. Many thanks.
Hello Nora how are you doing
What a beautiful song! Would never have known till I read some of the comments! 🎀👍🎀🎶🎶🎻🎶🎻🎶🎀🎀👍😍👍😍
Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home
Perhaps love is like a window
Perhaps an open door
It invites you to come closer
It wants to show you more
And even if you lose yourself
And don't know what to do
The memory of love will see you through
Oh, love to some is like a cloud
To some as strong as steel
For some a way of living
For some a way to feel
And some say love is holding on
And some say letting go
And some say love is everything
And some say they don't know
Perhaps love is like the ocean
Full of conflict, full of change
Like a fire when it's cold outside
Or thunder when it rains
If I should live forever
And all my dreams come true
My memories of love will be of you
Perhaps love, is being together where no words are spoken.
Perhaps love, is seeing you, touching you with my eyes, that we'll be together untill we go that special place where lovers go, and live forevermore.
Perhaps love.
@@owengreene382 Awesome!
Seems to be the story of everyone's life! Peace and love, stay safe!

Heard this song on the radio today. Made me cry. My Mom loved this song and I remember her buying it in 1981. She died two months ago from Alzheimers. Miss you Mom. ❤❤

I just found this masterpiece full of beautiful words describing love ❤️
My grandma loved this song, I remember listening to it in her car from a cassette when I was a kid. She passed away three days ago and I was put with the task of choosing the music for her service. This is the first song I knew I would be including.
Hello my name is josh mark i bring you good news
Loved this at my sons wedding June 2022
The vocal harmony of two great singers is a joy to listen but background orchestra music arrangement us equally enchanting it is a good recording that will survive from generation to generation ❤️
One time I walked into my morning class in college in 1990, and this song was playing on the overhead intercom.
(The teacher had put together a compilation of different music she liked, and she used that to entertain us before class would begin. A nice gesture on her part.)
...The first time I heard this song, it was tear time. (Almost a flood of tears, which could've drowned the class.)
Good thing I came to the teacher after class that day and asked her to make me a copy.
I have it, to this day!
That's a pretty poetic way of putting it. Hehe. :)
That's just exactly how it happened that day.

This is one of the most beautiful songs ever and a magical collaboration. These men are two treasures who left us a legacy of meaning in their songs,

The first time I heard this rendition I was brought to tears. Nearly 40 years later, I'm still moved in the same way. John's vision, his truth, and his message of love and peace
will never be forgotten.
Una época diferente , ya no volverá ahora solo permanece.
Me,too. A Chinese old lady 75 . This song has been with me over 40 years!
2021 & still here I am listening to this without breaking down. The last act of love for me is grieving as it shows how much and how deep my love for my Mama since she breathed her last.
I'm so sorry for your loss. May her memory be a blessing.

A primeira vez que eu ouvir essa música foi na minha infância. Apesar da infância sofrida essa música é uma das poucas lembranças boas que eu tenho. Ainda consigo sentir a mesma emoção. O amor nunca acaba. Deus é a fonte de todo amor 🥰
Francisca, você também a conhece do comercial de 50 anos da Sadia, de 1994?
Sim, conheço 🥰

the price of Love is a a deep, deep pain - to know that one day I or her must walk that lonely road ....alone ...but not without the memory of that sweet kind face. my heart is breaking into a thousand pieces whenever I think of that day....whenever it comes.
A beautiful and touching song. Placido Domingo and John Denver deliver an amazing and unexpected duet.
I miss you so much John. So very much. You gave us some of the most beautiful music ever written. RIP.

Memories of Christmas 1981, my parents, children and my wife opening presents listening to the cassette of John Denver & Placido Domingo singing this, not being able to get enough. I must have worn that tape out! "If I should live forever and all my dreams come true my memories of love will be of you." Amen
I am still listening to this song in 2021.
This song is timeless...
Thank you so much for sharing.
Likewise
Indeed truly beautiful
John Denver could produce pure strong music without seeming to make any effort . I saw a video of John filling the Sydney Opera House this way.................... pure magic!
This song is too short!! I keep running it over and over! Never get tired of it! Great voices, great lyrics, great music!
Me too! Still tear up when I hear it.
Pressed the replay button many times.
Same
Extraordinariamente, bela!
John Denver was one of the greats of our society. Every thing that he said had a deep meaning. He will be missed for the next 100 years.
Sorry, but you missed few zeros - for the next thousands years - and beyond eternity …

One of the most beautiful songs ever,by the best songwriter/singer ever...enough said.
Always loved John, but I never knew Plácido Domingo was so cool. That voice....wow. They look like they really enjoyed performing together. Jan 2021
I love this song, John Denver was an amazing singer. Wonderful.
