When John denver passed,we were cheated out of years and years of his beautiful voice.i have alot of his music and I play it all the time.i sure miss his voice.
I was a student at the University of Georgia in 1972 when my roommate convinced me to go see a fellow named John Denver who was to perform on campus. I had no idea who he was, but agreed to tag along to see him. I left the concert stunned at what I had just heard. What a magnificent performance! What a magnificent voice! What wonderful music. I have loved John Denver since that evening. Thanks, roomie, for your insistence on me going!
Saw JD in 1971 while at North Texas State University. Helen Redy opened the show. I love him being a part of my life. I felt he expressed in his music what was important to me - I was a part of his tribe. My heart broke at the news of his death. I miss him. I miss his music. The world needs John Denver today.
I know I’m way late to this conversation but I’ve loved his music since I was a little girl. I’m 56 now and i have a 6 month old granddaughter and every since she could no longer be rocked to peace or sleep (around 1 month of age) I began to carry her around the house and sing Sunshine on my shoulders to her, softly in her ear and it would stop all crying or fussiness and ease her to sleep.. I then began to play it and sing it to her while she needed comforting and to this day no matter how frustrated or upset or fussy she is, I pick her and rock with her around the house and play that beautiful song and she just settles immediately. She loves it. Thank you John, for giving me a real & deep connection with my sweet, precious girl that belongs to only her and I. 🥹♥️

I pray we get a chance to meet him in God's restored world and hear all the stories that whispered the words of these songs to his heart. My husband died in 2014 . This song brings such wonderful memories to mind.
I am sitting bawling like a baby, I keep playing this recording. One benefit about bawling----it seems to cleanse the soul. The beauty of Denver's words and music will stand the test of time. They spiritually connect us to our most inner being.
Exactly. I've had a feast of Denver music this weekend. I have loved him from the early 70's. Met him here in southern California and hope to see him in heaven.
I heard this song for the first time today.. and yes, I cried too.... for it reminded me of the love I had for my wife.. who left this world two years ago... this song touches the soul
I had seen him once in Seattle and enjoyed him. A couple years later had the opportunity to see him again. I was excited. But then before the show started I learned that he would be preforming alone, without his band and thought about leaving figuring that he couldn't possibly entertain. I was wrong. Of all the concerts I have been to over the course of my 65 yrs, this one with just him showing what an absolute talent he was, was the very best. Shortly after I was up late watching Tv and CNN came on with the announcement that he had died in a plane crash. I cried. I cried for his family and I cried that we lost someone who had his own struggles but yet was in so many ways just a pure sole wanting what was best for all. I miss his music to this day.
Fell in love with my husband at his concert in 1985 to this song. We had it done at our wedding. I had it done later in 2014 at his funeral. I can’t listen without bawling. Amazingly happy ...and painful memories .....but it always brings a smile.
I found John's music in college in the sixties. it gave solace, hope and comfort in a decade full of turbulence and uncertainty. My daughter was raised on his music, though it seems none of the love found its way into her heart or life. I treasure the times we sang so many of his songs while we drove many miles together. This song is really how i feel about my wife and the love we share. It's love that's kept us happily together for two decades now and we hope many more. Peace and love to all of you.

A truly beautiful song. John's music brought my wife and I together, celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary this year. We managed to see him in concert 5 times, the last was in our home town and we took our three young sons (10, 8 and 5). Met him at the stage door afterwards and he made a fuss of the boys being out so late. I still have a personal letter from him which we treasure.

I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes you just have no other choice except letting go. A friend of mine lost her son this February. His death was an indirect consequence of mental illness. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was 16 and institutionalized. When he turned 18, he was transferred into a half-house. A few years later, he was allowed to move into a studio apartment of his own, but he was placed under legal guardianship. Then, one day in late February, a farmer found him dead on a pile of pallets next to a heap of manure. He was wearing nothing but pajamas and one slipper. According to the autopsy, he died from hypothermia. He must have walked at least 200 miles that night, because that was the distance between his place and the farm. It turned out that he hadn't obtained o refill for his medication since October last year. Both he and his mother wanted him to recover instead of dying, but fate does not ask for consent. At least, in death, he's free from his misery.
Same here. In the end my beloved husband's need to be free from the physical pain of cancer is greater than my need to have him with me in this life, although the pain is now mine, and it's indescribable. I can't wait to be with him again for eternity.
Beautiful and profound. He could be talking of a lover, a parent or his adoring audience. A wise man who has experienced the ups and downs of love, and concluded that it is worth it.
I have always loved John Denver. He stirred emotions with his songs. He will be remembered forever because of his wonderful talent and beautiful songs. Rest in peace .
If you are still with us on Earth, I want to tell you that this song is such a beautiful song, because it makes one stop and think about all the things that love is. I played this song at my husband's funeral after a battle with cancer. Such a beautiful song and very heart rendering. If you are still with us love snd peace to you and my heart goes out to you. No worry or sorrow or pain is all that remains. God loves you.
SO SORRY FOR YOUR HUGE LOSS. I PRAY THAT IN TIME YOU WILL FEEL SOME PEACE. THE PAIN NEVER REALLY LEAVES US...IN MISSING ONE SO DEAR, SO CLOSE IN HEART. IT IS A BLESSING TO LOVE AND BE LOVED. YOU WERE BLESSED AND YOU DID BLESS OTHERS~~

Believe it or there was a time in this nation where actual talent actually reigned in this nation, just a man and a guitar and a song...somehow we have lost this and with that loss...we lost so much more...simple and pure...RIP John Denver...RIP
When John Denver died so did a gentler world, well, as far as music goes...The simple genre of folk music. Still miss seeing John Denver's Arbor Day and caring for the environment commercials, like him singing, "Plant a Tree." in the 70s and early 80s.
one of the most amazing human beings to have graced this earth. We are fortunate to have lived at a time when he was here, to benefit from all his gifts of advocacy and his talents.
@Ms.Bottom Time How right you are.. When l face the Good Lord and He would ask me what l did with my Time here on Earth..l'll say I spent a good portion of it listening to the music of John Denver
I'm not exception, like most, I have an opinion and my opinion is I just listened to one of the greatest songs every written, and performed. Not just the words, but the tune, them melody and all those other song technicalities. And John Denver is the one who sings it best. No apparent effort, it flows from his mouth right to your brain. I thank him for his lasting gift to the world.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼Wishing you and yours some well-deserved downtime and a very happy new year to come. Cheers to health, happiness, and prosperity in 2021! Son of John Denver.
Wow, even sung live this blows me away. When he says "from the bottom of my heart" and then sings the song. What an amazing personality he had, a truly beautiful soul. I love this song all the more, every time I hear it, thank you John, from the bottom of my heart 💘
John Denver wrote the soundtrack to my life; I wept when he was killed in that airplane smash; Loosing my own son at a sweet tender age, and listening back to this, and hearing his words, takes me to a time and place, for me when life was still wonderous; Thank-you John for the magic, you poured into our hearts; life was magical, when you were with us; but, still your legacy lives on. and those who lived your experience, know the true joy and love, you shared with us; we were blessed!
Your name is hope. Don't loose it. Choose to find that magical and wondrous life again. That's perhaps your mission now on this planet. Believe in it. My heart is with you.
It was in the early 70's that I first heard this man and his music. As a New Zealander it was quite strange for me, so many of my friends mocked this choice of music, but in my heart it expressed what I felt , what I tried to express , to explain me. 50 years later, I have never found a better way to express myself. I don't sing much anymore , not that is no longer important - just that nobody cares anymore -
I'm 73 and still playing guitar and singing. I used to sing a lot of John's songs, but now I cry too hard when I try to sing one, or even hear one 😢. Started happening when he died. What a voice!!

John Denver was my favorite. I can listen to his music and it transcends me to the most peaceful beautiful places I can ever imagine. Beautiful and profound. He could be talking of a lover, a parent or his adoring audience. A wise man who has experienced the ups and downs of love, and concluded that it is worth it.
YOU HAVE TO BE A ROMANTIC HUMAN BEING. I AM SURE YOU BLESS MANY PEOPLE. BLESSINGS TO YOU ALWAYS~~
Listening to John Denver's music is like putting on a warm, cozy blanket.
Yes a song's best friend.
He is a lot more than that. Love ❤️
I LOVE YOUR ANALOGY! PERFECT!
All I know to say... is this;
To call this "Beautiful"... just isn't enough word❤
RIP DAD you've been gone 4 weeks and i miss you terribly i miss the bad jokes the knowledge of age and most of all i just miss your love 😢🎉❤❤

I LOVE YOUR WORDS... IN THIS INSANE WORLD, YOU ARE SO VERY CORRECT. I FEEL A SOFT PEACE WHEN I LISTEN TO JOHN DENVER. HE WOULD BE SAD TO KNOW WHAT OUR WORLD TODAY IS ALL ABOUT. BLESSINGS~~
Tenho o vinil de Plácido Domingo cantando essa canção com o John. É de partir o coração...
MARAVILHOSO!!
Obrigada, John.
Está feliz onde está agora, cantando com os anjos🙏💔💖💖🇧🇷🇧🇷
Yes, that is an amazing version of the song!
Me too!!!
Had this played at my husband's funeral, we both always loved it, the enigma that is 'Love.'
My sisters sung this at my wedding 39 years ago. The funeral comment does not feel right..
Believe it or there was a time in this nation where actual talent actually reigned in this nation, just a man and a guitar and a song...somehow we have lost this and with that loss...we lost so much more...simple and pure...RIP John Denver...RIP
His music, his voice his guitar, just pure magic,I'm 70years young, and just listening to him takes me right back too my younger days.miss you still john
When John Denver died so did a gentler world, well, as far as music goes...The simple genre of folk music. Still miss seeing John Denver's Arbor Day and caring for the environment commercials, like him singing, "Plant a Tree." in the 70s and early 80s.
I remember😀
I do remember, I was in Dubai that time, I didn't go to work as I cried all day long....
I feel sorry for people who have not heard this song! I wish more folks had a chance to enjoy this masterpiece, this gift !
John Denver 1943 - 1997. Beautiful man and musician sorely missed.
one of the most amazing human beings to have graced this earth. We are fortunate to have lived at a time when he was here, to benefit from all his gifts of advocacy and his talents.

I was blessed to see him live twice in Minnesota. One of the few artists that make me take pause and listen. Love love love his music
Aren't we blessed that God gave him such talent and he was able to share it with the world!!!!!
A classic, memories of John Denver who has given me many happy hours of listening to his music....never forgotten ❤❤
A beautiful song from such a talented & gifted man. Gone too soon but his songs live on.
Hello Ruth
How can you not love this song. A true masterpiece.
2019
One of the most unique voices in folk-country music. Boy! Can he hit a high register!
!him! love Love
I met John Denver in 1982 and have never met a more down to earth person. What a wonderful man.
Wow, even sung live this blows me away. When he says "from the bottom of my heart" and then sings the song. What an amazing personality he had, a truly beautiful soul. I love this song all the more, every time I hear it, thank you John, from the bottom of my heart 💘
Wow ..
Love it
still in love with John... still brings me tears to hear these songs
I'm so sorry about the loss of your son; there is such pain in this life but John tried to ease our sorrow
Your name is hope. Don't loose it. Choose to find that magical and wondrous life again. That's perhaps your mission now on this planet. Believe in it. My heart is with you.
That is beautiful, I miss him too. One of a kind.
I hope you are at peace now...time does heal..
It was in the early 70's that I first heard this man and his music. As a New Zealander it was quite strange for me, so many of my friends mocked this choice of music, but in my heart it expressed what I felt , what I tried to express , to explain me.
50 years later, I have never found a better way to express myself.
I don't sing much anymore , not that is no longer important - just that nobody cares anymore -
So beautiful...❤❤
John Denver And Acoustic guitar what A Perfect combination Love this SONG 💛🧡❤️💙💚💜 My Favourite 💜💚💙❤️🧡💛
Perhaps Love from the viewpoint of a romanticist is like magic. It's encompassing involves all the good things of what life has to offer.
This man had the voice of an angel and was pure talent I could listen forever
John Denver seemed like such a nice guy. RIP John and thank you for all of the great music. ⚡👍
I'm 73 and still playing guitar and singing. I used to sing a lot of John's songs, but now I cry too hard when I try to sing one, or even hear one 😢. Started happening when he died. What a voice!!
Beautiful song. I love to hear you sing John. You have a beautiful voice. You left us way too soon.
Simply one of the greatest musical artists of all time, and one of the most beautiful songs ever written. RIP John, you are gone but never forgotten ❤❤❤
His was the best concert I ever went to. I loved how he included everyone in the singing and clapping. I really miss him. Far Out John❤️
John Denver was my favorite. I can listen to his music and it transcends me to the most peaceful beautiful places I can ever imagine.
I felt bad that this audience laughed at a moment when he was trying to be sincere. 😢 It's no secret now that he suffered from depression.
RIP John......you are terribly missed & still LOVED. ❣️
Hello,how are you doing?

John Denver was an American treasure. A real triple threat. He could write, he could play, and boy could he sing!

John was too gentle and kind for this world. God called him home.
John touched the hearts of people all over the world. He was passionate and sang with such sincerity. He knew how to express his feelings so deeply touched by catastrophes in the world and will live on in the hearts of people forever. Always my idol, a man with so much emotion and love of life. Truly truly missed. I loved the man and the music. Forever grateful for all that he did to make the world a better place. His legacy will continue to live on forever. Thank you John, I love you.

@Mike McKay
Wasn't he a sodomite?
'God called him home'. ARE YOU SERIOUS ???
He did NOT OBEY the gospel of Jesus Christ. PERIOD.
He is in hell as we speak.
Tone and musicality in his voice is truly a wonderful noise. Like a perfectly tuned piano or violin. Simply beautiful.
I was here with my Beautiful Dad . God Bless You mate xx

Wasn’t John a really true gift to us, I listen everyday to him and I never fail to wipe my tears away❤❤
The best song ever about Love. John Denver, you’re gone too soon but your music lives on!💞
He's just so entertaining, just him and his beautiful voice and guitar
His voice is so pure. Beautiful song, sung beautifully.
I met him in the late 60s at a college concert when he was still with the Chad Mitchell trio. He was so nice to talk to, a genuine human being!
This is a beautiful song, one of my favourites. A great talent, gone far to soon
JohnDenvers voice no matter what song has me either happy, or teary. This song perhaps love definitely the latter. God bless you John, where ever you are 🎉
Sublime. Music, as skillfully expressed, by a grand artist gone too soon.
One of the best voices of all times! I am glad I got to see him min concert! ❣️
John tried so hard to make this a better world. Through his music.
Through his actions.
And with all his love he wanted us to be better human beings.
I have always loved John and wished I could be like him. He was so cool and so "FAR OUT".
I am missing him so much this morning that my tears have to come out and hear him sing too.
