      Great video! Short and sweet, good advice! I have a query though... net kills?? Forehand especially . I find these quite tricky when opponents play good, close, defensive blocks to the net... Forehand grip? Bevel? Pan handle?

      Using a left-handed trainer is a bit confusing to me to apply. I had to slowed the playback speed to 0.5x to understand this video and yet still not clear 100% :( Yet I grew up in an Asian country which so many times won badminton's world cup & I played badminton since i was little. Perhaps I have to watch this video about 5-6x to completely understand the video. Overall, I like the ways how they explain things.

    I've been playing badminton for 2 years, and I always remember my tutor telling me that last time, that the racquet does not "spin" during your play, the only correct grip is the forehand grip. This is what happen to me, that forcing myself to stay on forehand grip no matter how the shuttle coming, causing me really hard to return the shuttle sometime, because all I remember is, only forehand grip is the correct grip. After this video, now only I acknowledged that, you guys did "spin" the racquet on your hand while playing depends on the direction of the shuttle, thats really answered my mystery of the century.

    Thanks guys! I've come to badminton late in life, but really love it!! I've spent the last couple of years trying to undo all the bad habits that I'd self-developed over the previous three. Grips was what I started with and, as you say, with perseverance using the right grip becomes natural quite quickly. What I still find I have to be conscious of though is keeping my grip relaxed until the point of hitting the shuttle - my default is still to be "tense" and "tight" - getting there though 🙂 thanks again for all your helpful tips 👍

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  3 роки тому +6

      Thanks for the great comment Tom, and we completely agree! Keeping the grip relaxed is something that all badminton players have to continually remind themselves, unless you are Kevin Sukamuljo ;)
