Hello, I subscribed your videos. It’s very helpful. 🏸🏸 But I want to ask, both of you are left hand player , so can you show some video with right hand and foot step. That’s would be great . Thank you so much 👍🏻👍🏻
It took me a while to get used to watching ur left handed videos but I got it now! Keep up the good work . I always smash the Like button first before I watch so I don’t forget . You guys never disappoint
I never comment in your videos. But its been 2 years of watching your tutorials and I can't tell you guys how much it has improved my game in that time. I was a good beginner but with poor footwork, poor technique and horrible stamina. The only thing I had was reading the game so I used to place the shots better which falsely made me think I am an intermediate player. Until I played with real intermediates I realized how bad I was. I learnt footwork exercises and warmup and tons of other things from you. I invested time in practice more than matches and applied those things in low voltage matches. All together I wanna thank you for all your hardwork and teaching me whatever I know today❤
Another fantastic video. Incidentally, I made a late cross court drive from my deep forehand corner yesterday. Our opponents were covering for a straight clear and straight drop. It was so satisfying to hit a winner in such situation 😁
Great video, thank you! One thing I've not quite figured out yet is the difference between this as a late 'defensive' shot, and what you often see in singles - where moving towards the back forehand corner in a similar sort of chasse step seems pretty common! As far as I can tell, it's the same footwork, just often less deep and lunge-y, so they're not left way out and trying to recover to the middle... would explain how they make it look effortless 😅
Every time that you make a video you add another skill that I have to improve greatly on 😳 The teaching in this video and in all of your videos are very a good. Clear and simple , thank you for making this😃
Thank you! :) Squeezing the grip is when you have a loose, relaxed grip and then when you strike the shuttle you tighten your grip to create the power!
Great video, thank for sharing the tips. Help my games alot. Another request from me if allowed. How to do a very very late backhand or forehand shot. I mean you basically running from the front to the back court & hitting it between the leg or at least near your leg. It happen few times when i play double & had to carry my beginner friend. Kinda like single vs double as my parner would freeze alot & not to mention bad return from him.
Awesome video! Quick question, at what point do you squeeze your grip when doing the late forehand clear? Do you squeeze upon impact or way before striking the shuttle? Hopefully you guys can answer.
Thank you! We use Victor equipment, and would highly recommend www.trmesports.com - you can also get 10% off everything on this shop using the discount code "BADMINTON INSIGHT" at checkout! 🔥
Thanks for the comment! They are hard to be used as deception because you are late however the last minute cross court shot can always work quite nicely! 😀
I'm green with envy at your control - something that too often eludes me, and I love it when Jenny gets Greg out of position even when it's only a demo'.
What exercises do I have to do to develop good core muscles? Usually in situations such as these my core muscles aren't strong enough to allow me to keep my posture and have a hard time recovering back to position.
Hi Alex, have you checkout out our website? We have 12 different core programmes on there which will help you :) www.badminton-insight.com/shop/core-circuits
Your videos have always been good but I feel like that lately you've gone the extra mile with videos' content quality. These videos are really helpful and the content quality is amazing!
Great video. It's almost important when playing doubles to have your partner duck a bit if you go for the cross court as I'm sure many of us are guilty of having the shuttle meet the back of their heads.
I need some tips on late "overhead" shots . Many times I was caught by attacking clears that zip past my head and I cannot move "behind" the shuttle to hit regular overhead forehands . In such cases , what are my options .
hi ive been wondering about this forehand clear that I see a lot of pro players doing. It's where they don't have much chest rotation and only really use their arm to clear really relaxed. Like I see Kento Momota do it a lot. I call it the abbreviated or late clear. Just wondering on some tips on how to get a nice relaxed and long clear when you don't ahve much time or space to do a full body overhead swing? Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! Hopefully we explain some points in the video, tips would be to be able to use your forearm and wrist well to create the power!
During singles games most of the time my shots go out of the court when I play clears in that late position. Could it also be the racket stiffness that prevent the control of the angle? I have a flexible shaft. I will film myself to identify the issue, I suspect the elbow not moving properly.
Nice suggestion! Would definitely recommend nutrition and your training load as the first place to look, but we'll dive into this topic more in the future
@@BadmintonInsight i mean, you should add some slow motion in this video and the future videos so we can see the footwork and the action clearly, it's difficult for us to watch the step of footwork with normal speed.
@@BadmintonInsight Thanks for replying. I think I am really using my wrist too much, i think i need to put get power from my shoulders than my wrist itself. It's getting worse at the point where i can't write anymore.

Thats great. I have a trouble with late cross drops. Will try now as you have suggested.
Thanks! Hope it helps :)
Again a great great video from the two of you :-)
A suggestion to a coming video: 'How to avoid to have to play a late forehand or backhand'
Haha that would of course be ideal! Thanks for the kind comment and suggestion Tonny :-)

Another great video! To help out a player in shall we say 'advancing years', can you do a video on The Late Every Shot 🤣
Hahahaa 🤣 not actually a bad idea! ‘How to play when you are not very fast?!
Ah but Dave, with all that experience you know what shot they're going to play and you're already there before they've hit it, right? 😉
Thanks for another great video

LinDan show many times this skill save him from awfully bad position..

Legend! 😆
Wow.. nice tips
Thank you! 😀
I'm here because I got absolutely destroyed by my opponent who was so good at doing these. Need to add this to my arsenal.
I measure my opponents skill by seeing how they handle late backhand. If they can do backhand clear consistently, then they're better than me 😂
Awesome❤🤙👍👌
Thanks 🤗

True... 😆
True, just hit my partner a while ago while doing cross-court late(she's fine tho)
Most of the time we did bad on Late forehand or late back hand due to get nervous and hit the shuttle before foot stand firmly on ground
I need some tips on late "overhead" shots . Many times I was caught by attacking clears that zip past my head and I cannot move "behind" the shuttle to hit regular overhead forehands . In such cases , what are my options .

Do you guys practice in the same courts as Smith/Ellis
Sometimes, but they're often away travelling for tournaments!
0:20 that was a lot of trust to stand at that position dodging in-coming shuttles
Awesome

i did the late forehand once , i missed the shot and the racquet hit me just beneath my eye

Wow. The cross shot with a feeder looks a bit risky. Really duck!

Thanks for the feedback! You can always press pause if you want to read a bit longer 😊
the cross is good but the 1st one you will get trap if ur opponant knows
That's where you need the clear and the cross, so your opponent doesn't know so can't gamble on your shots! 👍🏼
My wrist hurts when i slice the shuttle
You might be using your wrist too much, or you need to strengthen your wrist!
