Graham missed the chance to tell her that the suitcase did contain Spiders and Cats. And Bears and Humans and Elves and Zombies and Vampires and Treefolk and Soliders and Clerics and Druids...
Now I see why these took a year, well, besides baaby and unexpected moves and a full content schedule, but besides those reasons, is that these vlogs are polished as hell. Tight editing, great music, engaging content, awesome work G.
There's a Canadian pastry company called Vachon that make awesome stuff like strawberry Mille Feuille, and there's an apple-raspberry puff pastry they make that's the freaking bomb!
I eagerly await the rest of these travel vlogs. I've been rewatching your Japan videos while I contemplate vlogging my own trip to Scandinavia next year (depending on how my sisters/travel companions feel about it, I guess). Thanks for sharing with us!
SO great to see these! Melbourne is my home town and I really love seeing it from another's perspective. Was also amazing to meet you and Kathleen at PAX!
I don't know if it was the lighting, the beard, or a confluence of many things but something about the "I don't give a sh*t " phone talk feels Midway between a dad talk and a wwe promo.
I mean, 15 minutes is a quarter hour, so she just multiplied the 14 hour travel by 4. Don't get me wrong, I was impressed by the speed, but it didn't seem too unreasonable.
It is completely surreal to see you guys travel Victoria-Vancouver-whatever wacky location. I'm regularly in both airports several times a year as the in-laws live on the island, and the transition from the incredibly familiar to the absurd is fairly amazing.
Brisbane is my homeland! I do also love Melbourne. And love the way you pronounce it. Hopefully one day I'll be afforded the opportunity to go to canada and laugh at the silly names of your products too!
no joke I was watching this with my Hubs and when Graham went for the suitcase I paused it and said "how muh you wanna bet that's full of Magic cards?" :D
I used to fly to Melbourne regularly for business, so I've been on that SkyBus trip a LOT. Is it strange that I never stopped to wonder what LCM stands for? Maybe not, since I've only vaguely acknowledged their existence in passing.
I absolutely didn't even think about the whole 'I like/hate X electronic product!' all this time, it's not something that most people really talk about anymore, so when you mentioned it, it kinda felt like I was on the receiving end of someone telling me why 'x' is good or bad. So that's what it feels like. Huh.
Potato scollop ;) Actually if I remember correctly (From a year ago!) Graham and Kathleen talked about the weird polarising thing we have about calling them cakes or scollops.
I finally had to get an adaptor for the Samsung when it removed the headphone jack too. Have to keep replacing the adaptor as the wires somehow get crimped.
Hey Graham, if there's more of these in the works, I think it would help if you added the date (and maybe year?) in one of the opening bits. I was very confused because I don't know exactly when PAX Aus happens, but I thought it was... now-ish, but then saw footage of the old Moonbase. :P
FUCK YEAH SKYBUS Looking forward to seeing what you guys were up to last year...might give me some idea of what to do in my spare time when I'm down there later this month (the Japan vlogs were great for that for my last trip). My only plans so far aside from the con are going to Pancake Parlour and TGIF for that delicious food and drank probably too many times.
I've flown from the UK to Australia (and obviously back again). It went UK to Singapore (15 hours) then Singapore to Perth (5 hours). That trip is the only time I have done a flying in my life and I was not a fan of that long ass flight time, and that was with pretty sweet flying set-up for the time. I had my own TV screen in front of me that I got to control, I was 14 at the time and that was the first time I got to watch Sin City, though that was a little awkward given I was sat next to my Nan at the time lol. To hell with doing it now though, I smoke for one thing, so all that time without a cigarette would be a nightmare lol. PS when waiting for the connection flight in Singapore, airport security waved his MP5 in my face because I had my hood up lol.
GothicMonkey I know, right!? A few years ago I went overseas for a month and the first Aussie accent I heard after coming back sounded like they were laying it on super thick. They weren't, I had just gotten used to not hearing it every day.
Seriously Graham you make the best travel stuff. Probably all that video editing work you do but after watching the Japan stuff I tried to find more travel stuff and it is all just such poor quality after watching that one.
6:00, note to self, get NC Headphones for my child, Dare I take them on an airplane before their 3rd birthday. .. Secondary note: please try to find ones as cute as the pair Penelope is wearing.
chi7891 actually still is but people who wanted it just moved to other devices google pixel 2 is eating a lot for that exclusion. granted im not a fan of less features for design sake
Its on the minority. Until bluetooth or usbc headphones are 10 to 20 bucks this port isnt gonna go away its sgill controversial but when google did it the phomes that did it had death sentences for other reasons . Pixel 2 costing more and having less features than my s7 thats a year olf already..... yeah
lol Kathleen's face when Graham told her the Magic cards were in the suitcase
amythistxue1 So many different emotions in such a short time
My face when Graham DISCOVERED the magic cards. I'm pretty sure I woke up the rest of the house.
Graham missed the chance to tell her that the suitcase did contain Spiders and Cats. And Bears and Humans and Elves and Zombies and Vampires and Treefolk and Soliders and Clerics and Druids...
@@EternalDensity and a whole lot of BADGERS
8:50 can confirm: Penelope is definitely Kathleen's.
i'm starting to wonder if graham ever has his watch charged..
I still have Boston time on my phone and I went there in 2019
My favorite part was the complex and rapid shifts in reactions on Kathleen's face upon hearing that the luggage was full of Magic cards.
The fact there is a box for badgers makes me feel a lot better about giving Graham a bunch of them at PAX Aus last year.
Bumps and Badgers is my Dungeons and Dragons knock-off game
Your child is the sweetest. It is obvious the pride and love you show for her.
Now I see why these took a year, well, besides baaby and unexpected moves and a full content schedule, but besides those reasons, is that these vlogs are polished as hell. Tight editing, great music, engaging content, awesome work G.
I salute you for travelling so damned far with a tiny child. You are both far braver than I will ever be.
It should be considered a crime that this channel only has 10k subscribers. The quality and commentary is too good for that number to be so low...
"Oh, Christ, it's magic cards"
Apple products are the best though. Pie, crumble, cider, I don't see what the problem is.
There's a Canadian pastry company called Vachon that make awesome stuff like strawberry Mille Feuille, and there's an apple-raspberry puff pastry they make that's the freaking bomb!
Graham thought Australia took quarantine seriously then
I eagerly await the rest of these travel vlogs.
PAX this year just won't be as good without you guys there.
Glad to be watching this long awaited v-log. :)
I don't know if it was the lighting, the beard, or a confluence of many things but something about the "I don't give a sh*t " phone talk feels Midway between a dad talk and a wwe promo.
Glad to see the Australia GVlog finally come out! It only took so long that I actually went to Australia in the intervening time!
"So the next flight is only 56 times as long", either Kathleen has insane mental math skills or she calculated that before (for some reason.
With the prospect of dealing with a very young child in a pressurised metal tube for a very long time, I'm sure she calculated that a lot, heh.
I mean, 15 minutes is a quarter hour, so she just multiplied the 14 hour travel by 4. Don't get me wrong, I was impressed by the speed, but it didn't seem too unreasonable.
You've posted this video just in time to come back to Melbourne for PAX Aus 2017. Yay! :-D
It is completely surreal to see you guys travel Victoria-Vancouver-whatever wacky location. I'm regularly in both airports several times a year as the in-laws live on the island, and the transition from the incredibly familiar to the absurd is fairly amazing.
Wait does Paul skip cons because he's wanted in Australia for unlicensed experiments in mutant cow production?
Who said that it's unlicensed.
I sort of wish that part ended with an inexplicable cut to Paul, simply saying "You're welcome, Graham!" and then back to the real video.
That's what I come to these vids for: non-verbal Australian snack assessment.
Those things with the fish and chips were dim sims ;)
Ahh, the Sky Bus, have spent many an hour sitting on that. Enjoy Melbourne!
It's funny, I had just been rewatching some of the japan vlogs, so this is both exciting and familiar
Bumps 'n' Badgers sounds like some kind of Nsburg event. "Come on out to the seventh annual Bumps 'n' Badgers Day..."
Oh hey, it's the Watch & Play beard!
Glad to finally see your adventure :)
Yay! Welcome to Melbourne(it's a bit late, I know) Hope our city treats you well! Guess I'll have to continue watching the vlogs!
I don't really know the "industry" terms to describe why your intro to this video was so awesome, but it was super fucking awesome.
I just came back from a weekender to japan (from montreal) so all the airport shenanigans felt very relevant.
oh goddamnit, I got all excited and thought you were coming to pax Aus again.
Love your travel vlogs.
When Graham puts on his dad pants at 3:58 It gave me a legit stirring
I know this is an old video but just felt i had to shout out Penelope for handling that travel day. I don't think my daughter would make it
3:58 ever feel like something the universe truly needed just happened?
I wasn't even gonna snark about Apple products, and yet I still feel suitably chastised.
I recognise the red things!
Sad I missed you guys while you were here, hopefully I'll have another chance one day
Really tempted to go to PAX AUS this year.
Yuuus, not sleeping and I have something new to watch!
Watching this in 2020 really threw me for a loop at the 9:00 mark where G starts talking about how seriously Australia takes Quarantine...
Brisbane is my homeland! I do also love Melbourne. And love the way you pronounce it.
Hopefully one day I'll be afforded the opportunity to go to canada and laugh at the silly names of your products too!
I don't think anywhere has as silly of names as australia, and I've been a lot of places.
Peneolpes comic timing at 5:18 is perfect.
The music you have my one year old loves it and keeps dancing to it
no joke I was watching this with my Hubs and when Graham went for the suitcase I paused it and said "how muh you wanna bet that's full of Magic cards?" :D
IT'S HAPPENING.
In all seriousness, I'm so happy to finally see these happening. I expect many Australia shenanigans
Welcome to our country friends!! Too bad its the opposite coast to the one I'm on or I might've been at PAX :( hope you enjoy your stay! :)
Hope you're having fun!
Huh.
I'm an Aussie and I was just waiting to see your reactions to our super strict quarantine, lol you guys were weirded out
I've come back from the canada/us twice now to melbourne...and that never happened on arrival. Guess its not a thing that United does.
Very interesting that the line between Vancouver and Brisbane goes over Hawaii.
Haha, I thought to myself it'd be hilarious but unlikely if the suitcase was full of magic cards, but it actually was XD
They cornered the Magic market on Bump in the Night's. Gotta store them somwhere.
The things in your fish and chips were dim sims. Oh and I think I saw potato cake in there too.
Potato scollop ;) Actually if I remember correctly (From a year ago!) Graham and Kathleen talked about the weird polarising thing we have about calling them cakes or scollops.
Patrick Curtis I'm kinda amazed at this hasn't decended into a flame war over it tbh
I wonder what they thought of the Dim Sims. I'm curious
I know! It's almost like the LRR audience are civilised or something ;)
At least this wasn't a year ago. You met the imaginary deadline
I finally had to get an adaptor for the Samsung when it removed the headphone jack too. Have to keep replacing the adaptor as the wires somehow get crimped.
Oh is that milk low fat, no fat, full cream, high calcium, high protein, soy, light skim, Omega 3, with vitamin D & floride or extra dollup?
oh i miss those ads
Waiting for graham to spit some hot fiya over these beats in these videos.
Hey Graham, if there's more of these in the works, I think it would help if you added the date (and maybe year?) in one of the opening bits. I was very confused because I don't know exactly when PAX Aus happens, but I thought it was... now-ish, but then saw footage of the old Moonbase. :P
Penelope is ADORABLE! She’s grown so much!
Yay! Finally!!
FUCK YEAH SKYBUS
Looking forward to seeing what you guys were up to last year...might give me some idea of what to do in my spare time when I'm down there later this month (the Japan vlogs were great for that for my last trip). My only plans so far aside from the con are going to Pancake Parlour and TGIF for that delicious food and drank probably too many times.
Really diggin the transition music, G
oooh finally, just in time for pax aus lol.
Penelope is ADORABLE!
Those big headphones on Penelope are so cute
Family naps are the best naps, tbh.
I've flown from the UK to Australia (and obviously back again). It went UK to Singapore (15 hours) then Singapore to Perth (5 hours). Yes finally!!!!
A+ pronunciation of Melbourne and Brisbane! (Melbun & Brisbun)
i am personally not a fan of apple, but if the phone is good for you and you enjoy it, good for you and props to you for that
as an australian, wow does the accent come through thick on video. also hey brisbane, hometown.
GothicMonkey I know, right!? A few years ago I went overseas for a month and the first Aussie accent I heard after coming back sounded like they were laying it on super thick. They weren't, I had just gotten used to not hearing it every day.
Graham with the "be cool bro" at 3:56
Seriously Graham you make the best travel stuff. Probably all that video editing work you do but after watching the Japan stuff I tried to find more travel stuff and it is all just such poor quality after watching that one.
WELP...you got in before the next PAX AUS.....just :D
Dude what is the song that you hand when you where on the skybus
Oh yay
"Big beard" Graham is best Graham.
Profile pic checks out.
and pax is in like 2 weeks so less than a year
Woot! Melbourne GVlogs! If anyone is curious about things in this or future Aus GVlogs, i'll use my local knowledge to help out as best I can.
Mountain man! The beard has grown!
6:00, note to self, get NC Headphones for my child, Dare I take them on an airplane before their 3rd birthday. .. Secondary note: please try to find ones as cute as the pair Penelope is wearing.
You guys were in Brisbane? Dang I missed you again
btw they came out and said LCM literally means nothing. It's just random letters they thought would sound good.
Concerning the display that shows your flight progress... Was that "N" up in the left corner a reference to Netscape?... High tech that...
Technically, there were probably some spiders in that collection of Magic cards. Both real and Giant.
Alternate title: "Various Ham Tubes"
I mean, if ALL your Magic cards were in the suitcase, surely there were some spiders and cats in it.
Is that the African blue basil from the pizza TTSF at 0:35 ?
New QWERPline, you say? I EAGERLY AWAIT IT!!
Uhhhh... this is an old GVlog (date-wise). Sorry.
God Kathleen I so great! that reaction haha
Luckily the headphones jack thing is no longer controversial like it was last year
chi7891 actually still is but people who wanted it just moved to other devices google pixel 2 is eating a lot for that exclusion. granted im not a fan of less features for design sake
Wingalpha yeah I mean even android phones aren’t including it now
Its on the minority. Until bluetooth or usbc headphones are 10 to 20 bucks this port isnt gonna go away its sgill controversial but when google did it the phomes that did it had death sentences for other reasons . Pixel 2 costing more and having less features than my s7 thats a year olf already..... yeah
When did you get a little Graham
almost two years ago now
I had forgotten how big Graham's beard had gotten.
To answer the question "what is this?", it's a dim sim (or "dimmi")
Not to nit pick but don't you still have your old i6 couldn't you use it as the camera for a few weeks for convience and save battery life on the 7
I find it kinda funny it took you 17 hours to go from Victoria to Victoria. Also, I don't think anyone knows what LCM's is supposed to stand for.
Less Crispy because Marshmallow? I dunno, that's the best I got.
As I understand it, Kellogs' official position on the matter is that if it _does_ stand for anything, the expansion is unknowable.
To those who also live in Perth who apparently don't exist CHEERS!!!
Also pax please notice us :(
I dunno, as someone who used to work in Perth cbd it can be kinda gross and not nice.
yeah but I still feel we deserve a fair shot at a pax
Guess what was in the suitcase
Spiders?
No
Silverfish?
No. All of our Magic cards.
THAT'S WORSE!!
I have that same exact luggage bag.
Whats the music used in this?
Being perplexed by dim sims 😂😂😂😂
