I'm a self funded retiree. My wife and I have a van and Prado that has taken 40 years to buy after raising 3 kids and paying off the mortgage. We travel, and the kids reckon we don't take enough photos. No way in the world I'd want to spend my time filming and editing like you guys. You deserve every cent you get. Something I admire about you guys is you are so down to earth so honest. And just such legit adventures not a “pretty painted picture” from sponsors. It’s actually heart and soul to it. It’s inspiring.
And lame as it may sound I spent a month over in Aus in 2015 and it stole my heart from then I have been trying so hard since then to move to Australia and travel, explore, open up the world and just see how much more there is out there.
Absolutely no idea how a Pilates instructor and dancer would make enough but I have a view point “If your not living your dying”.

The problem with wiki camps is it got sold to a group that owns caravan parks, so majority of the free camps have been removed sadly.

I've just got back to Perth from 73 days in an oztent with my beagle and Prado on a return trip to Tassie, it was epic and as I said before you guys gave me the push to do it.
I quit my job at 42 and off I went.
I will be going back to casual work for different companies to the highest bidder 😂, but I never want a full time job again with only 4 weeks annual leave, so for me I make the choice to work casual and holiday when I choose ...⛱️☀️
Be safe guys and keep doing the good work, you guys are good humans 🙏

Love your work guys - I have been soo inspired by you guys. I just bought a Mitsubishi Delica that’s going to take me around Australia. Your story was the straw that broke the camels back with me and made me move forward with something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

My wife and I are avid travellers. We have done the LAP with our at the time 3 young kids...the best year of our lives back in 2013. Countless trips before and since. We are from Vic but moved to the Sunny Coast in 2017... best move ever....

I have watched a few of your series and I am so impressed. Your word of mouth is so valuable to me and helps me with my planning for our trip soon around Oz. I would love to look at the ebook for cooking for tips, as the meals look great. Another point I would like to make is the honesty in how much travelling around costs. I have been a bit worried lately as so many youtube channels where people are spending well over $1k a week. As we will be travelling as pensioners I was so heartened with your budget. (BTW, if you're wanting to snorkel/dive the Great Barrier Reef, I can highly recommend Seastar out of Cairns. We did their day cruise a few years ago and it was amazing. @@SarahandKeelanTravels an overnighter would be absolutely amazing!!! We had such an amazing trip to the Reef, one of the best days we've ever had. Snorkelling the reef is definitely a MUST DO!!! Can't wait to see your footage; unfortunately we didn't have a waterproof camera. But swimming with turtles was just beautiful.

Really appreciate the honesty and candour here guys. Love your channel. The wife and I have just bought the van of our dreams, a tow vehicle and about to sell up the house and hit the road, she’s a photographer and I’m in IT, and dabble in video editing, so absolutely appreciate how much effort goes into putting out these videos. I’m fortunate in that I can keep doing my day job, (thanks yo Starlink). When we thought about a UA-cam channel, both of us were worried about the effort of editing impacting our enjoyment of the experience. We’ve decided to still do it, and for posterity and our friends and family to keep up with our journey.
You’ve both inspired us that we’re on the right path. Your setup vids have been hugely helpful, and hopefully one day we’ll catch you out there and we can have a beer! Thanks for being legends.

great video Sarah and Keegan! thanks for your honest and frank comments on running a youtube channel and sharing your personal income info for some perspective. Previously, i had no idea what youtubers could earn nor the hours involved to earn it. You have done a terrific job documenting your journey and sharing some awesome tips and great locations. keep up the good work and most of all, enjoy yourselves. i’ve been doing preparations for a big lap later this year with heaps of little mods to my ute and van. i’ve made plenty of mistakes and changed directions a few times resulting in wasted money on mods that didn’t work and later changed to something different. no setup is perfect so my point for most people would be to just get out there and give it a go and make changes after really understanding your individual needs. planning on doing a few videos as i go, am right into windsurfing so currently do plenty of promo stuff on facebook as an unpaid advocate of the sport. looking forward to once again travelling this huge country and documenting some windsurfing when near the coast line. anyway, enough bs. thanks again, you guys are the real deal genuine good aussie people! cheers, Al Windsurfer LT1

We appreciate your candour and openness on what is normally a close conversation. We are full time on the road traveler and just record for our own use but even then sometimes we just forget to turn on that GoPro.My bad! Often thought about the work that goes into all that footage, with passing car shots, drone footage, cameras attach the van and car, a lot of effort. Sometimes you will highlight a place or area that we have been and its look incredibly more beautiful and spectacular then what we have experienced ourselves. We done guys love your work.

Great honest break down thanks so much! I’m happy to see another budget traveller as far as food, eating out, activities etc. makes it seem more achievable for people like me! I’ve been on the road full time in my vintage caravan for 4 years now but plans for my “big lap” have encountered a few hiccups over the past few years and the cost of petrol is a big deterrent too! I like recording my sagas on my channel just for the memories too but definitely don’t have the level of commitment to it that you two have but so admire people like you that do and help make UA-cam such a great resource for all of us, so kudos to you and happy trails! 😍

You Tube certainly gives freedom of when you work and how, against having to work casually on the road.It is easy to see you are both loving what you do.There will always be knockers thinking it is money for jam, but it is easy to see it not the case.
