I had a recent viewer on my channel who is getting ready to do this job on a '71 and I recommended that he come check out your channel since I'm doing a '61 and while similar, it's not quite the same as a super beetle. Hopefully he finds his way over here and sees this video. Keep up the good work, you're cruising along nicely on these builds.

Thanks Cowboy, I love doing these projects. I’m self taught. Not a pro but I have a lot of experience. Thanks for sending him my way. I did a 69 standard beetle for a friend a few weeks ago. I did a video. That should be similar to your 61. Ok but thanks for your support. Wishing you a great New Year’s. 👍🤓

Nice going Dave. I know who I’ll be calling if I need opening up 🤣 I’ve never changed a whole one before just patches so enjoying your progress. I’m sure you know but don’t throw the old one out without removing that front crupple zone panel, it should unbolt but may need heat👍🏼 Also the inspection plate for the tunnel.

Thanks again Philp, I will remember. I want to put a tow bar permanently on the front and it needs to bolt to the cripple zone panel. 👍🤓

Hay bud,it is pretty big. The hard part for me is getting started. Believe it or not I enjoy figuring these things out. In my working life I worked for Thompson consumer electronics. When something went down. I had to figure things out and get things moving again. Of course I worked with other guys and we would brainstorm and learn from each other. Even though this is a first time job for me, I’ll confident it will all fall together in the end. I consider you as my technical advisor. You have been a very big help to me in one way or another.

I'm sure you will do a great job installing the frame head. I'll do my best to be your technical advisor. As always, I'm glad to help you out.

You are a brave man. Just cut it off and fix it. Can't wait for the next video. This video was to short, lol.

Thanks Ben, I agree the video did seem kinda short. I’ll work on that. I believe the next video will be cleaning all of the welds and mounting the Napoleons hat.
