Thanks Keith, I believe so also. Them for little ears are barely welded. If one fails you’re in a world of you know what. I plan on a lot of driving so I want to be safe. Ty 👍🤓
I'm considering adding supports around the jacking points when I redo my floor pans. Mine tend to get bent up from when I use floor jacks on them, and think it would be a useful modification. Love watching the progress! Thanks for another great video!
I agree with the others great mod Dave. It’s funny, I’ve never added the jacking points to any pan I’ve fitted since the 80’s so it was nice to see you do it👍🏼 I think probably because my car was my daily then and as we salt the roads over here in the winter, they were proper rot traps back then. Now I only use my bugs on nice days now, even in the winter, I’d probably fit the jack point next time around though just for aesthetics. I have a small trolley jack in each, along with a tool kit and spares, all a proper throw back to the past 😂
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle thanks bud, it was probably safe but it sure didn’t look that way. This cold weather is holding u the parts I’m getting sand blasted and powder coated. Have a good day.
Great addition to the frame head. My bug doesn't have those plates under the jack points. Are those an aftermarket addition someone thought up to strengthen that area?
Hello TrixedOut, actually those plates came with my floor pans. They do add a lot of strength to the area. Not sure if they are sold alone after market. If so maybe Wolfsburg West. Have a great day! If you can’t find them I believe they would be easy to fabricate. Basically a flat plate with the access hole. Dave
Hi Dave great 👍 I think the extra support was a good idea 😊

Hello Wrongdrone, it a good idea to beef up jack points. Next video I will be doing one on my top portion. 👍🤓

Hello Philip,
I thought about leaving them off but then I realized I need content. lol! Have a great day buddy.

Nice frame head mod. Your front suspension will appreciate it, going down the road.

@@busterstravels1534 The upgrade was worth it. Hopefully others will do the same. A few more weeks of cold weather. Spring is coming.
I can’t wait for the warmer weather.
@@busterstravels1534 Me too.

Thanks mama and papa, I don’t like asking but I think it’s important once and awhile.
