Valerie, Let’s just say Angelina achieved consummate professional status at a far younger age than we had ever witnessed in any other vocalist. Angelina was born with a hyper sensitive ear in addition to being endowed with a highly evolved and advanced intellect, intuition and instinct to perform at the professional level she does.

Yes, Angelina has a great ear - she listens to other artists and then finds a way of interpreting the story from her perspective - then she can be free to feel each moment - she draws us in to her world, to be in that moment - just irresistible..

You explained Angelina very well. She has not only an amazing ear but also the ability to take what she hears and translate into her singing. She did an amazing performance in Nihongo (Japanese) during her concert in Japan, when she was still quite young. She definitely sings in the moment. When, I. attended two of her concerts in July 2022, I was surprised that although she sang a lot of the songs at both, it was amazing how well she sings them beautifully and at all the same time differently. The same goes for her band. She and her band really do play of each other and seam to adjust, almost flawlessly to each other. During one of her songs at the second concert one of her band members seemed to get caught up in the moment, as Angelina was about to start the next phrase, and basically did extended solo. Angelina looked over and when he finished she had every applaud for him then the band got back in sink and she finished the song as if was just the normal flow of the song. It truly was an amazing experience to she her at the two concerts, just days apart.
It's really impressive that someone this young can be so good in that lower register. Great reaction, Valerie!

As I recall Frankie Valley from The Four Seasons had the first hit with this song then Andy Williams covered it and had a big hit also. Years later Andy sang it as a duet with a young lady from England and it hit big once again.
To mr Andy snd Angelina are my two favorite singers. Johnny Mathis is way up there too.

I just feel that I should comment on Angelina's breathing, because that is something every singer and voice coach is commenting on. It sounds as if Angelina is not breathing, any why is that? It's because she isn't. Not at all.

I went through your impressive list of Angelina reactions once more. It appears to me that you probably never have got to react to any song from her last in Norway, summer of 2019. It was a very nice consert, once again put on to YT by our great friend Boris Palenovski. It`s also rather interesting to see her growth and maturing during those years until her summer-consert last year. Back then she even did an Adele cover, as she sung "When We Were Young". I`m not all sure, but I think that`s her only Adele performance at any live consert. Thank you Valerie to come back to our Angel, I always enjoy your reactions because of your unique way to analyze the singer. Angelina listened to a lot of artists in her childhood, due to the interest in Jazz of her grandma. What is so fascinating for me is that she is able to make songs her own on the spot (often in a single take), while keeping aspects of the original singer, if it´s the vibrato, the phrasing, the tone, or whatever. And her feeling of tempo and breathing technique was always great, it looks so easy, there is an old video where she gives teaching lessons to an adult. Looking forward to the next reactions! :)

Student painters go to art galleries and copy paintings from the past, not to make a copy but to study how other artists approach a subject. For a singer its the same when they listen to other singers.

Yes, Angelina listens all the time and absorbs what she hears. Then she does as you say - she takes the lyrics and adds what they mean to her interpretation. However, I'm not sure that she improvises in the way you suggest. Most of her performances of a given song are the same in outline, though the feeling is different depending on the ambiance of the situation. I think she really does work it all out beforehand and is meticulous about her inflections, runs, etc. In other words, I don't think she is a jazz artist in the way Ami Winehouse is a jazz artist. I think she has incorporated jazz into her own unique style, and that 'in the moment' feel is not in her but in the connection she makes with her audience while performing, if that makes sense. Just my impression.

Okay Valerie, you wanted something different, I hope that you haven't seen this. About a month after she won Norway's got Talent, Norwegian TV had the little eight year old sing Summertime at an outdoor concert. Not many kids could even walk onto the stage, but well, that's why she's special. The two videos go together, the first is the rehearsal and the second is the performance. All together it's about five minutes. It shows the little rock star learning how the business is more than just the performance, and the rehearsal is kind of crazy.
