Recently moved to Hong Kong from my small farm in the states, I am now taking advantage and the opportunities I have to travel the world in search of some of the most delicious foods, unique places, and friendliest people.

This is the final video of my Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia video! I went out with a bang, as I got to enjoy a HUGE feast with a family during Ramadan! This was truly a great experience as I got to partake in something that I will cherish and remember forever.
The cultural experience, unbelievable food, and just overwhelming emotions I have felt from the love everybody has shown me in my time here in Malaysia has been unforgettable.
Thank you Malaysia, I can't wait to come back and explore you even more.

Max McFarlin sounds like a plan. You noticed that the flags looks almost identical and the sculpture of Iwo Jima was also done by the same guy who did our national monument. So you can blend in here easily. BTW I brought my teen daughter to the TTDI bazaar for her first time. I think it overwhelmed and baffled her with the stalls.

you should go to Kampung Baru or if you are adventure enough, take the train and go to Stadium Shah Alam bazaar too. actually lots of Ramadan bazaar around town.

I think the way foods are cooked, ingredients, and just everything is so fascinating to how it influences a culture and vis versa! Yeah. And maybe someday if you happens to visit Malaysia again, please come by the state of Melaka. Melaka is one of the historical city in Malaysia and yes, the food here are awesome. You have to come and experience it yourself. Sorry for my not so well English 😅

the nasi kerabu is good when it is mix well, most people that not use to it would try abit by bit without mixing it well and find it not good.. guess it's good if they mix it well for you

Max, you will have to visit Malaysia many more times, spend a week. I am from the States, but have traveled and lived in Malaysia, a beautiful country. People are friendly and welcoming, and food is spectacular. Visit Penang, Malacca and Terenganu to start. Dishes you must try on next visit are laksa, Hainan chicken, fish head curry, murtabak and more nasi kandar and roti canai.
wahh.. you've got good food taste. but you know each states here got their own cooking dish speciality? just ask the local they will explain it to you. there you will taste the original taste of the food like nasi kerabu from terengganu n kelantan. rendang from negeri sembilan, asam pedas from melaka, nasi kandar from penang and so on.
@@eclipse221077 yes, of course, each state has its specialty dishes too. when you mention Malaysian food, my mouth waters. It's the best cuisine, complex flavor, not duplicated anywhere else. Also, let us not forget Peranakan/Nonya dishes!

Oh yum! Wow all that food looks fantastic 😍 max do you speak the language? How do you go about asking for what you want or do you travel with someone who speaks it? I would find it very hard, great video as always.
FitAngie Malaysians mostly speak English. We learn it from kindergarten.
FitAngie there is a lot of English in KL. I was with someone who spoke Malay so it was easier. However, when I’m places there is zero English, pointing at foods works really well😂 or I’ll usually have it translated because I’ll have an idea of what I want!
Most Malaysians can speak English. Its their second language. Hope that helps.

noraayu mustari very good question. Hard because I work a full time job so I won’t be able to take as long a trip as I would like. Going to try and take another quick trip in December and hopefully will be able to take a month long trip in the near future.

I miss Nasi kerabu (Blue color rice), ayam goreng berempah (fried chicken with spices) and murtabak (something like roti canai but is with filling) so much! Is my favorite! You have to travel to other states of Malaysia for more nice and different variety of food.

Home cooking is better than all those stuffs.. its hard for me to find foods which better than self cooking.. Sometimes I always ask to myself why there were a lot of good cooker out there, but they shared delicious foods only to their family members..

Hmmm, a top three would be hard. Loved chili pan mee, Nasi kandar, and Apam Balik. But I’m such a moody eater it was just depend on the day😁 there wasn’t much I didn’t care for but I couple dishes I wish i would have gotten to try a different version as I think I would have liked them better.
No dairy, just pure beef!
Max McFarlin haha moody eater that's a first. I love the crispy thin crusted apam balik, i can eat dozen of those.
Im Malaysia our local beef cattle is Kedah-Kelantan which is relatively small breed beef cattle.But we do have some crosses with Angus and Brahman. I just love Friesien-Holstein, so cute

Max McFarlin hmmm I would say my mom's green beef rendang. It's a variation of rendang cooked with spicy green Bird's eye chilli. It's spicier than usual rendang and quite difficult to get it from food stall as they usually serve the more common brownish/yellowish rendang. The one you had in this video is Rendang Tok, it's black in colour and took hours and a lot of coconut milk to get that exquisite creamy sweet taste.
