This disc is in my top ten favs of all time. What an incredible album. Sorry I missed them on tour but I'll catch them on the new DVD later. Thanks for the post! Nicely done!
of SC I'll save only TMOLS and ITPOE (except the final part), of BC&SL I'll save The count, the music of the Best of Times and Wither so for me yes...I will push further saying I'll save only something from Octavarium but maybe I'm going too far..
People saying bullshit as they know each member of the band in real life... give me a break. MP is doing an AWESOME job today, and guess what? He is really engaged on his projects. Dream Theater still AWESOME as they always have been. Keep rocking --this is all that matters.
Great work! Amazing editing, and impressive video/audio quality!!! Dream Theater should pay you for this quality work! I bet it was a great show to see live! Again, very good job on the video!
A real fan of Dream Theater wouldn't hate an entire album because one person wasn't involved in it. Personally, A Dramatic Turn of Events is the best Dream Theater album since Awake.
bracknellexile Thanks so much for this and other DT Vids! I' m a newcomer to DT compared to you, having first gotten into them during Images and Words. I love DTOE!
wow i think this song might have just clicked for me. i still think there are some obvious references to learning to live i.e. the first main riff, the bass groove part when the vocals first come in, but damn that instrumental section made up for it all and i actually really enjoyed john's solo he really brought out some emotion. i guess this proves how much this band can own the stage live and make you a firm believer in their art in case you were ever doubtful.
I'm a petrucci fan too, but the video says DREAM THEATER - Breaking All Illusions, not JOHN PETRUCCI - Breaking All Illusions. Just learn to appreciate the fact that hard work was put into this video. Props to the author for putting this together for other GRATEFUL fans to watch this extraordinary band as a whole play.
First time i listened to DTOE i though: God, DT, what happened whith you? Then every time you listen to it again you get this certainty: They have improved!
LaBrie was the best I ever heard him on him out of five different live shows. Only one show at BC&SL, would I say he was particularly awful. In Austin in 2012 I was on the second row. He did something I will never forgot and sang an A5 flawless. He even sang Pull Me Under strong without those add on words he usually does. He almost sounded Pre-Awake that night. I will never forget it.
Nice video of an amazing song which Myung wrote (he should write more songs). The new album is amazing. Portnoy is great and missed but Mangini is just as great. I'm really looking forward to the next DT album where Mangini has more input. These guys are just remarkable musicians and they continue to produce awesome music.
The slow-motion effect is killing the momentum, specially on the technical passages where you want to see those fingers do the magic. Out of that, good job on recording the whole thing.
@bracknellexile Yes the LOT of editing is very evident. Awesome work, mate. I'll agree with the other dude who said this should be there on their new DVD, for the efforts you've put in.
I'm gonna see em live in a few days *faints* and Portnoy is a very convivial, nice, candid guy in person. I'm sure DT will make amends with him later on
I miss Portnoy as much as anyone, but whats done is done guys. Mike Mangini is in the band, and he is one of the most skilled drummers ever. Plus he is having the time of his life up there. I really feel as if Mangini has been disrespected as the drummer in DT. Just listen to the guy and quit bitching. There is nothing like the Portnoy lineup and probably won't ever be, but look at the positive.. This lineup is amazing too.
Look this video up: Dream Theater - Through her eyes (Live scenes from New York) I can't post the link here, but I think he sings pretty well on that one
Yeah Train of Thought was their zenith. Scenes is a tour de' force and Awake was awesome. DTOE was kinda Images and Six Degrees in one. None the less, a good album
Well, this album surely deserves a place since they incorporated a lot of ideas from these albums. For me, this album, in terms of diversity and emotion is way better then Black Clouds and Silver Linings. But every album of DT are amazing in their own right XD.
@Krands85 I've got better footage of "Backs Of Angels". Will be up in a few days. No-one stood up in front of me until the last few songs but that meant the surly staff could see any cameras
DT fans can't headbang in live shows (their heads would fell off) They can't pogo (changing tempo would transport them to another dimention) They just have to stood there and cry. Let the melodies flew over their souls, which are discovered in that show.
It's just mind-boggling how people will find something, strike that... will find JUST ABOUT ANYTHING to whine about, for something that SOMEONE ELSE MADE AVAILABLE FOR THEM, and they didn't have to pay a F-ing dime for it. The Internet: where "spoiled little bitches can't appreciate what's right here in front of them" has become a way of life... Appreciate the effort, man. \m/
Mangini is pure joy when he's playing. I love that guy. So happy he's with DT.
THIS guitar solo. Omg..it made me cry. REALLY
fantastic song..
This album is really good.
By far my favorite JP solo on this album. Loving Live at Luna Park on bluray!!
You can tell from Mangini's face he sure loves his job, amazing... just amazing.
Another one of their epic songs, much like Change of Seasons. I love the counterpoint between Petrucci and Rudess.
Amazing video, amazing guitar solo! Thank you for posting this!!
Are you kidding me? Is the best song of at least, a decade.
One of JP's greates solos!
This disc is in my top ten favs of all time. What an incredible album. Sorry I missed them on tour but I'll catch them on the new DVD later. Thanks for the post! Nicely done!
Really praying they play this one on tour this year. It's got to be one of my favourites!
are you kidding? this is the best song that's come out of DT in the last 5 years!
It's going to have it indeed. I was there at two night gigs and seriously I have to say, I was speechless with such a talent
Great this new song of DT, and Mike Mangini did an excellent job !
I'm seeing Dream Theater in 2014! tickets arrived today!
Best gig i've been to so far this year, nice video man.
whoever made this clip is a brilliant,.. thanks a lot!
After two weeks watching this everyday, it's still amazes me how you pull this off. Great work man.
of SC I'll save only TMOLS and ITPOE (except the final part), of BC&SL I'll save The count, the music of the Best of Times and Wither so for me yes...I will push further saying I'll save only something from Octavarium but maybe I'm going too far..

sick shot of John and John playing in unison at 9:30 cool to watch their left hands together....props!
Awesome!!!!!!
Congratulations on another great CD.
I hope they come to Las Vegas.
Thanks for making this! It may tide me over till the the DVD comes out!
Scenes from New York: A Change of Seasons. Legendary!
Great quality, both sound and image!!! Thank you :)
That bass is a ####ing legend. Not to mention the man playing it. And Petrucci etc.
best song for this album, great job DT !!
In my opinion this is the best song in dramatic turn of events album
All that with one camera!!! You, sir, are amazing!!
great show, amazing song....
bracknellexile Thanks so much for this and other DT Vids! I' m a newcomer to DT compared to you, having first gotten into them during Images and Words. I love DTOE!
I love this album...
Guys, I am sorry, but LaBrie's voice is getting so much better. Very happy for that! Looking forward to see DT in 2014! :-)
I'm a fan of good music!
This is an awesome song
6 dgrees & scenes are they best albums from DT and i dont think they'll ever top them
Every time John Petrucci plays a solo a virgin becomes pregnant.
GOD that ending is fantastic!!!!
Something worth seeing!
mangini's faces are priceless. i think they made the right decision
Your work is greatly appreciated, man! Great stuff, truly!
wow i think this song might have just clicked for me. i still think there are some obvious references to learning to live i.e. the first main riff, the bass groove part when the vocals first come in, but damn that instrumental section made up for it all and i actually really enjoyed john's solo he really brought out some emotion. i guess this proves how much this band can own the stage live and make you a firm believer in their art in case you were ever doubtful.
Mangini Is really shine in this vid !!

I found out they were playing in Glasgow on the day, at the time the show started. bummer
Thank you for your efforts.

Petrucci´s guitar graphics are awesome
great footage!

Excellent video bro'! love this song to death!!!
Awesome vid man! Shame you weren't a little further to the right, where I was - everyone in front of me was sitting down for nearly the whole show!
great job, dude!
Thank god you wrote that!!! :D
Great job dude ^^
@bracknellexile Yes the LOT of editing is very evident. Awesome work, mate. I'll agree with the other dude who said this should be there on their new DVD, for the efforts you've put in.
Wow... You are official cameraman of DT. Amen
Really dude?! I thought DTOE was epic, best album in a long time!
awesome video thanks you!

1:20 -- look at that playing. Fucking brilliant.
GREAT VIDEO!
I'm gonna see em live in a few days *faints* and Portnoy is a very convivial, nice, candid guy in person. I'm sure DT will make amends with him later on
Great !!!!
I Love It :X
Fuckin amazin gig. I want them to come back soon

Mike Mangini is the BOSS
Follow Follow!!
Is it just me, or the way John Myung flings and swings his head is so awesome? Haha \m/
i'm freak in this whole.. but this freak too in out there
I can't get over the shape of that mic-stand.

haha love the "portnoy/mangini" death fight bit ! hahaha but still portnoy rules ;) and fucking excellent edit and sound amazing one man :D
Yeah Train of Thought was their zenith. Scenes is a tour de' force and Awake was awesome. DTOE was kinda Images and Six Degrees in one. None the less, a good album
I need New DT album damnit!
I actualy like those quasy dramatic slomo's, like something is about to happen :p
gold rule: disable autogain when recording metal.
lennon cry in heaven
Well, this album surely deserves a place since they incorporated a lot of ideas from these albums. For me, this album, in terms of diversity and emotion is way better then Black Clouds and Silver Linings. But every album of DT are amazing in their own right XD.
fair enough :) i think ADTOE is one of their masterpiece with IEW, awake and SFAM...
1:33 was really cool!
i think this video has a great editing.
@confu5edfella One camera and a -lot- of editing. Thank you! :)
Great!!!
Petrucci is the leader of Dream Theater.
Real DT fans only listen to When Dream and Day Unite...
Petrucci is showing off his at this point!
@Krands85 I've got better footage of "Backs Of Angels". Will be up in a few days. No-one stood up in front of me until the last few songs but that meant the surly staff could see any cameras
podem falar o que quizer desses caras... esse draminha do portnoy e o escambau. MAS OS CARAS SÂO FODAS!!!!!!! QUE MÚSICA FODA!!!!!
did anyone ever notice that the end of this is a musical reference to the part about 3 minutes into Far from Heaven?
perefect>>
