I really loved the room where you're sliding on the powerlines. The orange sky, the smiling moon and the stars. Remember just hanging out there and enjoying the vibe
This lady was on point, excellent commentary and great run. And she wasn't awkward or shy. Good job to her. Wish more girls got to show of their skills at events like this.
This and World of Illusion were my favourite games as a kid, and Simpsons Krustys Fun House. I remember so much of this game up until the last level to the last boss, i dont think ive ever beaten this game either, we only borrowed this game from a friend and never found it at our local video stores. I LOVE the internet annd i love GDQ for bringing these games back from distant memories.
I remember loving this game as a kid. I think I fell in love with the animations. :p On the other hand, the castle in Transilvania gave me countless nightmares (I was like 5 at the time), to the point where one of my parents always acompanied me to the kitchen while the other one finished that level. :p Oh, the memories... ^_^
So happy you played this, I remember this game from when I was super duper young but never got to ever finish it since it was my cousin's Sega and we didn't visit them very often. I will say I don't remember the game having cannibalism but maybe that's a repressed memory. Anyway great job!
Amazing run YKB! I remember you and your "controller sibling" story during your awesome run last time! Great to see you kept up the antics this year! As an older sibling whose done the same thing: I apologize for keeping the tradition going. To be fair though, I had that bite me in the butt when I left my PS1 and Final Fantasy 8 on, but shut the TV off when I left, only to come back to my entire party being dead and my save not being anywhere near where I last was; all because my brother wanted to play on a controller that our dad thought wasn't connected to a game. :(
One of my favorite games from childhood. Came with our Genesis along with Sonic 1. Was intrigued to see what a speed run was like of this. Since WEIRDLY as an adult, who's way more impatient, I've tried to map the most efficient route. So this helps. There are few games I go back to constantly and beat, this is one of them, then Sonic 2 which I can "speed run" (50min for all 7 emeralds and beating it) I think 30 minutes is 100% record. So, not close to any record, think my time puts me in mid 100 range when I looked. Also Mickey's World of Illusion, not CASTLE of Illusion.
It completely slipped my mind to mention this, but it's a throwback to when I was a kid and my brother (who is on the couch) would give me an unplugged controller so I could pretend to play! Have to keep those couch commentators happy!
they lost 3 crew members, 2 to hypothermia and 1 eaten by the very whale they were dangling a duck over. Most of the money went to paying the families out in lifetime disney world passes.

Starts 1:25
Awesome skills and performance 👏🏻.
Dang it. I remember doing it in 40mins. My childhood game. One of the first games I ever played ^^ so much nostalgia
26:56 Isn't there like a shortcut here where you can just climb straight up to the exit? I used it all the time.
I forgot this game was a thing! was my favorite sega game besides Sonic and Knuckles, bringing back my childhood. Great run!
Delicious, delicious roast duck

kinda looks like the sound is unsynced? Or maybe its me?
lilbit
lol I forgot I had this game. I bought it from a guy who sold me his Genesis and all his games back in 2005
Weird Question +yellowkillerbee I don't know anything about SDGQ why do the guys in the background have controllers?
I was going to ask the same thing cause I've never seen that before and I've watched this for years
It completely slipped my mind to mention this, but it's a throwback to when I was a kid and my brother (who is on the couch) would give me an unplugged controller so I could pretend to play! Have to keep those couch commentators happy!
YellowKillerbee haha that's great. I had no doubt it was actually you playing, it was just so perplexing :)
this game looks cool
Why do the two guys in the back have controllers?
Enjoyed this! Why are the two guys on the right on the sofa both holding controllers as though they're the ones playing?
wow I didnt know you could just skip the "sun, moon, star" thing! Damn.i wish I'd known about that nifty trick
Announcer sounds like Johnathan from Penn and Teller's Fool Us, but then randomly breaks accent.
that slide tech!
Nice job!
Run starts at 7:08
The final boss really does have way too many hit points
7:10
The audio is slightly out of sync.
Nevertheless, the lady sure can play the shi*t out of this game! She's on point!
i can't tell if the whale comment is serious or not lol, i've heard of stupider ways of blowing a game's budget

i only see this speedrun for the beautiful lady ;-)
