You know I still watch the show everyday. I have seen all the episodes about 30 times, but each time I see the show, there is always something I learn. No matter how many times I have seen it, you I always get a special tidbit of knowledge from it. I miss Estelle, Rue, and Bea, but I know they are in heaven making everyone laugh. I cannot wait to see them again and laugh 😂 with them. Betty White, you are the only Golden Girl left, and still going strong. I know you have a little bit of all the Golden Girls in you. Thank you all for being a friend.
Even though Bea died of cancer. She also died of broken heart, because Bea really wanted to go to her funeral, but Bea could because she was so sick. Bea just loved Estelle and Bea felt so close to Estelle. I love The Golden Girls and still think of them as second my family.
I read Bea didn’t go to her funeral is because she was either too sick with her cancer or she just couldn’t deal with the emotional pain of our beloved Estelles passing.
I sit and re-watch the show. I almost know it by heart. And every time I watch it, it's still hard to believe that three of them are gone. But, as long as we remember them and keep enjoying the series, they're never really completely gone. Thanks, Girls.
I wasn’t exposed to the golden girls (i grew up in the middle east) but seeing them being referenced in most shows, I decided to watch and now that I’ve started, I seriously can’t stop. It’s such a comfort show. I’m just glad they’re all immortalized through Golden Girls.🤍
Back when face book was still new, there was an app called flair. You could make pins and decorate your space. I made one of Sophias face and the words Shady Pines Ma! Under her face. It was public so others could use it. In one week it had over 200,000 shares. Back then, that was a lot. Everyone loves Sophia.
i loved her so much. she was very pretty, and so gifted with her part on the show...she reminds me of my grandmother. loved the wise cracks she made. a great talent has left us but we have the rerun's to watch.. RNP
I would watch the Golden Girls in the 80s next to my grandmother...now thirty years later, I still watch...and laugh as if its the first time Ive seen the show...with my 9yr old daughter who thinks they are just as hysterical as I do...love the Golden Girls so much...Im black and young but even still I can relate to them so much! I love their jokes...their outfits...and most of all...their friendship!
I was 11 when Estelle died 12 when Bea died and Rue died when I was 13. I loved the golden girls I’m a huge fan. My grandmother loved the show especially Betty White
I still can’t believe they are nearly all gone. Rue especially as she still looked and acted so young on the show… and was only mid 70s when she passed…
Dementia is a horrible disease. My grandma had it as well. Though she never had it bad enough where she forgot who her family and friends were, she would forget things like turning the oven off, locking doors, or remembering how to drive to the store. She passed away in 2003,my senior year of HS. Just 6 months after my grandpa and 2 weeks before my other grandma. It was a horrible year.
I discover snippets and clips of golden girls from Facebook videos. Never heard of them before this. And this was year 2018. Somehow i got to watch the entire 7 seasons and I’m hooked to this show because of that snippets in FB. When i watched the final episode, i felt extremely sad and disgruntled as if all of them are still alive even though I’m aware Betty’s the only one left. Thank you Estelle, Rue & Bea for the wonderful time & memories you’ve left us all with. And i hope that Betty will keep on going strong & healthy for many years to come.
This is so sad! I miss her so much!! She worked so hard her entire life to Finally become an actress. And she was a great female comedian. And great female actress
man this is so sad. #crying its just sad that dementia does people like that. "You need a reason to get up in a morning and sometimes life turns around and spit in your face"- Estelle Getty
Atleast when you have a cancer u still know who is who. When u have dementia thats taken away from u. The gift of Being remembered my parents are starting to lose their hearing But im just so glad they still know who I
I love the Golden Girls. I wish people like these classy ladies still existed today. They remind me of my grandparents and their generation.. hard working funny and no nonsense yet kind and caring, sweet (especially Rose!) My grandma loved them and now many years later I do too. I wish they were all still with us.
I love her dearly. She always reminded me so much of my grandmother. I used to watch the show with my grandmother. What a heartbreaking disease to have.
Tough Italian mom on both sitcoms. Fought right through her dementia in the shows. Golden Palace was awesome with this sassy character. No one can replace any if them!
I was only 8 years old when she passed away. But still remember that day she went. I watched every single episode of golden girls and love each and every one of it. Rip estelle arthur and rue. And long live miss white.😥
I always loved her character (reminded me of one of my maternal grandmother's sisters. Who also happened to be Sicilian). Best part of the show in my opinion.
Without Estelle there wouldnt have. Golden girls!! This lady could act. She made my day everytime i would watch the show she was the one to make me laugh.. R.I.P. estelle still watch reruns.. ❤😃
People are living WAY longer than they did 20, even 30 years ago. With old age, sometimes sometimes comes brain failure in the way of forgetfulness, then worse. Senile dementia is a bit different from Alzheimers Disease, but both rob you of memory and impairs judgment and cause difficulty with normal bodily functions like speech and mobility, caused by injury to or loss of brain cells. Alzheimers Disease has plaque that builds in your brain and eventually affects the parts of your brain that makes your organs function and you die.. Sometimes blood vessels can be constricted to the extent that some blood is restricted to parts of the brain that rule thinking (and other functions) which can become lethal. There are a number of kinds of dementia but all cases of dementia are one of the most misunderstood and least understood medical conditions today. But since people are living a lot longer now, it is something we'll have to deal with in the medical field and at home with senior loved ones.
My Great Grandma passed away from Alzeimers in 2005 and now my grandma (her daughter..my mom's mom..Grammy) has it as well..but Is still with it enough for now to know who the immediate family is..
There is an episode where estelle got in after the dance and she charged pennies for the dance , before she goes in the bedroom rue that is sitting on the sofa touches her hand to make her remember a line
Don't get me wrong she was a very good actor and a great person. But it was the Golden Girls that knocked her career out of the park. The Golden Girls made her famous.

Hi there, thank you so much for your uploads! I'm trying to find online to stream the episode of 'Autopsy: The last hours of Rue McClanahan' with no avail. I'm in New Zealand so I can find, but believe it can be watched on the REELZ Channel.
She was 85, 2008. I wonder if dementia ran in her family? And how do we know if we are over taxed or have dementia? I forget things or will do chores to fast, running all the time. I worry about it although my parents were clear when they passed of cancer and a heart attack. And why do you die with dementia? Does the autonomic nervous system shut down?
Even though she passed almost ten years ago I still miss her.
