Could you imagine, being on camera 5,5 hours a day, 6 days a week?? Constantly entertaining people, singing several songs live daily, trying to fit in ad lib commercials for endless products - and keeping your audience interested and engaged - all off the top of your head??? If someone ever deserved a movie, made about them, if only to try and grasp at that legacy, she left behind - it would be Betty White.
Trouble is, who on earth would be able to play her believably, and how would you capture a life like that on the silver screen?
As I watch this, it's very difficult to believe that she's gone. How I would have loved to have coffee with her...and her animals! Not just an American treasure, a treasure for the world. A most fascinating lady. Much loved here in Canada.
She is a gem if there ever was one! A true pioneer, or maybe THE pioneer!
I miss you Betty White!
I could listen to Betty talk for hours. Her voice is so soothing. Thank goodness we still have access to her online! Rest in Heaven.
The world seems so different without her presence. But she is now again with the love of her life Allen Ludden and enjoying eternal joy.
Betty was a gem. There are so many of these wonderful entertainers who no one can ever duplicate.
Unique histories can produce unique individuals, Betty was probably born that way. Smarts + decades of hard work.
So sad she passed before the big three digit 100. But she is now with her beloved Allen, so bless her & am happy she is back in his arms. All of her fans will miss her very much. RIP Ms. White.
I could listen to her all day
Me too!!! ♥️
Love you, Dearest Betty!
Betty White was a legend in the Entertainment World!
May she Rest In Peace
(1922-2021)
I hope everyone who's watching is grinning like I am.
She had such an amazing life. She lived through so many worldly changes it pretty amazing. The depression and the changes of the 50s,60s,70s and on and on. No TV to b&w tv then color tv and internet and to have such amazing experiences in her life is remarkable. She definitely didn't waste her life away, she absolutely took full advantage of her life's opportunities. ❤️ What a precious beautiful legend. ❤️
She is marvelous at putting her life stories into a compelling tale.
back In st olaf???
I still can't believe she's gone 💔 😢 😔. Also you could hear the pain in her voice when she mentioned Harvey Korman 😢 💔 😔 you could tell she missed him 😢
Six days a week -- live 5-1/2 hours a day! I would love to have seen Betty back then or even a re-run. Imagine Betty and Eddie Albert singing their duets.
She's the reason I believe in heaven.
She deserves nothing but eternal joy and happiness after what she gave to the world!
A true pioneer, she did it all. In the 70's I grew up watching her on game shows by day, and on MTM Show on Saturday night. In all her successful shows, she was surrounded by impeccable casts, too. Good fortune or good chemistry, or both.
Betty. Sue Anne & Elke were both supposed to be 1 shots, just as she was 1st cast to play Blanche. Betty made them all classics.
Hard to believe she’s gone. Larger than life & everyone’s favorite grandma. 🙏❤️
Buster Keaton ….. and Betty White ….. “I inherited the show, because I was there”.
Mentioned casually.
What a true talent of a lady she was. The world is not as bright now, but heaven surely lit up a little more. God Bless you Betty White. You gave us so many happy memories to enjoy. We all loved you. 🙏❤️
Oh my! We still miss you! What a legacy she left behind for us still enjoy!
Even the necklace is stylish. Class act.
"Yet Another Betty White Show," OMG!
If only.
Wow… she worked with Buster Keaton… I mean that’s as legendary as it gets.
She is so humble.
“I would sing like 3 songs… you couldn’t tell me from the amateurs I’m sure…”
I’ve seen her singing from that time in her life, she had an absolutely amazing voice.
Betty was a gem that we didn’t deserve.❤️❤️❤️
Have Always Loved you since 1963 😘
Can we count the 'firsts' this woman is discussing as casually as though she were clerking in a Mom & Pop grocery? I thought Carol Burnett was the first female host of a variety. Nope. Go back a few years. First female star of a situation comedy. Not Lucy. Go back a few years. First female host of a talk show. Not Virginia Graham, or Joan Rivers. Go back a few years. First female producer/ performer of the same television show. Not Lucy, or Carol, or Mary Tyler Moore. Go Back a few years. She was NOT the first woman to host her own game show but she was the first to win an Emmy for one. Think about it this way. Betty's first experience doing sketches on regular scheduled live television was around 1950 in Hollywood on Television (that 5 plus 6 days a week show). Her last was her sketch work as guest/ host in SNL appearances from 2010- 2015 (the Californians was her last live sketch). her first sitcom work was in 1951 with Life with Elizabeth. Hot in Cleveland's final episode was again in 2015. There was 60 years between her first Emmy nomination and her last. It's astounding.
Yes, that's wonderfully put. We keep talking about how lovely she was, but I will always be in awe of her professionalism.
@@lindam.6782 That was an experiment, tv wasn't even broadcast into homes then, Betty was there before the dawn of television, didn't she sing?
Love Betty and Carol Burnette but I'm tired of hearing about "firsts." How about we get back to focusing on what was and is BEST. Saying an accomplishment is the first for a woman, black, Asian, blonde, left hander or other identity group diminishes how great these human beings and their accomplishments are, like they were merely the best of their identity group. Sorry to go off on your comment. I'm sure you're a nice person but we're never going to move past our obsession with race, gender, sexual preference, skin color, religious affiliation or any other identity subsection of human beings until we frame our world and our individual experiences as all members of the same identity group-- the group of humans who are all the same naked and screaming child on our birthday before being taught that we are different somehow.
I love and miss you , Betty
Kids today don't realize they live in a time with some people born when TV hasn't existed!!
Miss her already 😢
Betty's a TRUE pioneer... most of the others ones are legendary perhaps, but not really pioneers in the truest sense of being first and laying the groundwork...
Such a wonderful person, so many good memories watching her all my life!
Such an amazing lady. So classy and sometimes naughty at the same time. I just love her.❤️
Oh my gosh I wanna meet her in heaven. If there is a heaven, there’s no way she didn’t make it
I still can’t believe she’s gone. It feels like just last week she passed, but it’s been three and a half months.
Rest in peace Betty!
I miss her presence
I find it quite fascinating hearing her talk. We can look back at all her career. It's strange to see these people, who may not of known of her until her passing away. Then seeing this and constantly speaking how sad it is her passing away. It is absolutely terrible but I I just want to enjoy this without all this.
"I can laugh at exit-signs" :,D
Betty White appeared on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on Dec 17, 2014. So this interview is 8 years old.
By December 2014, Craig was leaving the show, as he had enough of it...
Rip Betty white was beautiful singing beautiful l didn't know could sing was beautiful lady 😢
💚💚💚
Betty was a true National Treasure. The US Postal service needs to issue a stamp to honor her.
Does any one know when that interview was filmed?
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
What year was this?
How old is she during this interview?
@@lindam.6782 wow.
betty is great. the spelling on the chapter screens is however atrocious
The producers of the show had Betty and the host not play records anymore, because no one wanted to listen to records. So instead, they sang 🤔
Lucille Ball is the Queen of television
Must be 15 years old or more
There is nothing 'complete' about this interview. It appears to be heavily edited.
the Pioneers of Television interviews consist of a series of questions that they used in the various episodes that they did about Television, with these they just compile them into one video
You should do so well at that age...
It's the Q&A style. Sometimes you hear the well-versed interviewer pipe in. All the others in the series are like that.
