Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary or Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful destination located 20 km east of Mananthavady on the Kodagu Road. The jeep ride here offers brilliant opportunities to view various animal and bird species in their natural habitat. One gets to see herds of elephants, guars, deer, monkeys, tigers, leopards, bears and many species of reptiles, fishes, butterflies and birds including vultures. Visitors are restricted to the outer tourist zone. It gives one an excellent perspective on how we must strive to conserve these natural wonders.
holpetty Wildlife Sanctuary showcases in the misty lush green forest, have a glimpse in the Jungle, Feel the freshness of the air and get lost in the stupendous beauty of Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary. The Tholpetty Wildlife sanctuary is stretched to an area about 344.44 square kilometres. The sanctuary is full of tuskers, creepers, colourful birdies and butterflies. This spectacular beauty was established in the year 1973. The jungle is dominated by teak trees. This sanctuary is famous for the various threatened species of fauna especially the vultures.
This sanctuary is not only popular for its breathtaking beauty but also for its activities. One can take a jeep safari to a look on the jungle, or else one can trek. This place is a paradise for bird watching also one can enjoy the stay at the misty covered forest and at the watchtower, this adventurous and unique feel could be acquired at the Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary.
