When Amy was alive British comedians would make jokes about her alcohol and drug problems for a cheap laugh on national tv. Once she died they all looked stupid and rightfully so. Amy was a real talent, a rare talent, a person who comes along once in a life time. I'm glad you did a reaction for her and really appreciated her voice.
She gave as good as she got though - TV panel show asked if she'd be interesting in a duet with Katie Melua, she responded "I'd rather have cat AIDS, thank you very much." 😮😂

Amy was a star, unfortunately her husband distroyed her. Amy Winehouse was a tremendous talent. The first time I heard her was "You Know I'm No Good" and I thought it sounded like the theme to a James Bond movie. It breaks my heart that she died so young and tragically.

She wrote this about her boyfriend leaving her for an old gf, which hurt her so bad. He later came back when Amy started getting famous, with money. RIP to Amy.
Many interpretations of what the phrase "Back to Black" meant....I took it as meaning that Amy went back into a sort of state of mourning and depression(Black being the color worn by people at funerals, especially the widow) after her boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil casually went back to the safety of a relationship with his ex-girlfriend, when Amy thought that they'd just had a bad falling out...She wore her heart on her sleeve and wrote the "Crude" second line out of sheer anger at him for leaving her when she thought that they'd just simply had another of the many rows that they had in their relationship. It's been suggested that he introduced her to heroin and this affected her in a bad way, although it was thought that she had kicked the habit by the time she died. She did stand by him when he was imprisoned and they did get married. The video to the song is all about a funeral and her wearing black and has over 500 Million views. Her friends and family all say she was quite a shy and sweet girl until she got involved into what turned out to be, ultimately, a toxic relationship. RIP Amy Winehouse.
This performance really puts to rest the stupid theory that "black" is black tar heroin. If you watch this and feel she is singing "black" to mean anything other than sadness or depression you need to re-evaluate some life choices.

Amy is one of the most recent members of th 27Club. Artists that died at the age of 27 Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin I’m not as sure on the other newer members of the club.
Lauren is straight up R&B, while Amy was pure jazz. The two genres can sound quite similar in many cases, though, so the connection/ comparison between Queen Lauren and Goddess Amy is certainly understandable. The way they both hit those runs too... I love Lauren to death and there is no denying her amazing talent, but I personally am drawn to the soul in Amy’s voice even more.
She did go back to black, she joined the infamous 27 club along with Hendrix, died at 27, Janice Joplin 27, Jim Morrison 27, Kurt Cobain 27, Brian Jones 27. I believe there's more.
Davis Comics There are so many great songs about drug use and abuse as well as many that talk about the regrets or recovery from it. I decided a long time ago to simply enjoy the musical genius that abounds.
Back to Black does not reference heroin. The line, "you love blow (coke) and I love puff (weed)" showing the dichotomy of Blake and Amy. She was a polar opposite to him.
It was more than drugs. Amy had an undiagnosed mental illness called BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). It caused her to distance herself from the people who wanted to help. But Amy was an adult. You can't make a grown woman do anything she doesn't want to do. Not really.

Valerie Acoustic version would be dope!
She truly wasn’t appreciate for how rare of an ace she was
I wish Amy had more good friends around her. Maybe she’d still be here. She was truly an amazingly talented woman. R.I.P beautiful lady!
There's a documentary on Netflix telling her story...sad...she had an incredible voice.
I too get full body chills listening to her, she's incredible
She literally sang her heart out
My mumma raised me on amy, she will forever be in my heart, so so talented. Such a tortured and genuine, beautiful soul 💨💔💚
Amy is one of the most recent members of th 27Club. Artists that died at the age of 27 Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin I’m not as sure on the other newer members of the club.
Jim Croce
Jim Morrison and Brian Jones...
Robert Johnson is the original member
50K DAY!!!!!
CHILLS ACTIVATED!
Congratulations. Thank you for all the fun.
I always felt like she sounded like Lauryn Hill. Not a copy, just similar vocal quality.
Oml I was thinking the same thing
she used to do a cover of "that thing"! remixed with "he can only hold her"
Lauren is straight up R&B, while Amy was pure jazz.
I miss Any Winehouse and her beautiful Angelic Voice... Love You Amy
Incase you didn’t know she’s dead :( that relationship killed her
She puts all her emotions into her music.
Another rare talent taken too young.
So much talent, so much potential, so much beauty inside and outta that girl. People close to her killed her. Died too early. R.I.P.
"Oh she can sing?!" Well she could. Not no more.
She did go back to black, she joined the infamous 27 club along with Hendrix, died at 27, Janice Joplin 27, Jim Morrison 27, Kurt Cobain 27, Brian Jones 27. I believe there's more.
now watch it again knowing "back to black" refers to heroin. intense, short life. so sad.
Davis Comics Not true, she did use heroin but she didn’t start until she got back with Blake, the year after Back to Black was released.
LiamTheLioness That’s what I thought too. Thx.
At the the time she wrote this she loved weed not heroin that's why she said "I love puff and you love blow" Blake loved coke
Yeeeesss please please more Amy Winehouse 🙏🏼
Great singer too bad drugs took her down, what a waste, so talented.
It was more than drugs. Amy had an undiagnosed mental illness called BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). It caused her to distance herself from the people who wanted to help. But Amy was an adult. You can't make a grown woman do anything she doesn't want to do. Not really.
Hands down my favorite Amy Winehouse performance. Thanks.
This is the funniest thing I’ve watched in ages. New sub.
A beautiful voice and talent. Our World is missing a shiney star. R.I.P Amy...
Every song she sings live sounds different every time! It's never the same song, an expert jazz singer, she could improvise!
27 years old when she died we love and miss you 💖💖💖💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏
I've been watching your videos for a week. Everytime I think I'm caught up, I find another one I haven't seen. I love your videos, they're awesome! You bring light to a dark time in 2020. Thank you😊
The pain in her voice and lyrics still makes me emotional because it was real and relatable..Rip Amy You are truly missed
I had to read the comments.
Another legend lost. What a great voice. R.I.P. Amy Winehouse.
I love her voice. It’s tough for me to listen to her music now. It makes me sad thinking of what could of been. She shouldn’t have passed like she did. #RIPAMY
