This is from her second album, 21. She came out of nowhere with her first album, 19, and won the Grammy for Best New Artist. I got to see her live after her first single "Hometown Glory" was released in the states. She's just as genuine and down to earth now as she was then.
It was actually "chasing pavements" first from the album "19" and then rolling in the deep 😉
@@Freja1970 Honestly, I did question that. 🤣 My memory has never the best. I think Hometown Glory was played more here before 19 came out so I remember it more. I think it was due to the whole Pavements vs. Sidewalk that literally confused people somehow. 🤣 Rolling in the deep is from 21 though so at least I remembered that correctly.
She really did come out of nowhere with this. I had never heard of her up until that point and when she dropped this she made my head turn with the quickness. She was and is a breath of fresh air and she always comes back out right on time to bring more fresh air when the music landscape is stuffy.

Absolutely. 21 was a godsend. I think tho that Amy Winehouse heartbreak for Back 2 black is prob the most sad thing ever. That album is a masterpiece. But, damn.... what she went through to give it to us, I just don’t know if I think it was worth it. Or had she had a better support system. Idk. So tragic. We can be thankful for Adele’s because she’s come out stronger and turned it into a beautiful career and she’s happy and healthy.

"Someone like you" is the first Adele song I ever heard and that brought me to tears. The rest of that album was Pure Gold. The album is 21 and "Rolling in the Deep" is off of it too. Her voice transports you to another place. Everyone's talking about "Set Fire to the Rain" which is Awesome and one of my Favorites "Don't you Remember" all on this album. Keep going with Adele Leo. :)

And she was only 21 years old when she wrote and recorded this. She didn't come out of no where with Hello, that was from the followup album, 25, to this album, 21, that was HUGE! She won a boatload of Grammys for this album. Every song from this album is phenomenal: this song, Set Fire To The Rain, Someone Like You, Rumor Has It, and even her cover of The Cure's Love Song. She is truly one of the stand out, unique voices of the past 15 years. She has a great personality, too. Watch interviews with her for a good time :)

Adele wrote this is when she was like 16/17 and it released when she was 19. and the chorus is "You Could have had it all, rolling in the deep, you had my heart inside of your hands, and you played it to the beat." She just got better and better as she aged (she's like 26/27 now, single mother of one boy) and stopped smoking (after this album, 19, was released). Fall down the hole on her music, you will NOT regret it. The song of hers, the ONLY song of hers that makes the tears flow from my eyes, is her cover of "Make You Feel My Love". It was already a beautiful rendition by her, but when they used that song in the Glee episode dedicated to the untimely passing of Cory Monteith/Finn Hudson, I couldn't breathe through it. It's such a deep genuine soulful song of forever love, and so react to it when you can handle it. She wrote and sang that song when she was 18 and its on the same album as this one, her album titled 19 (her albums are 19, 21, 25).

I read somewhere that Adele came up with that beat, just stomping her foot on the floor. Her voice is fabulous. Strong, powerful, soulful. Very few singers can do what she does. She saved the music scene as far as I'm concerned. And those back-up voices are perfect.

I love this song and she is a huge inspiration for me. She was a chubby woman with an amazing voice where people loved her the more she gained/shifted weight. Now she's been forced to lose it all to keep her job. She was an inspiration for me to lose my weight. I'm half way there. She IS a music goddess.
No one should have to Lose weight to keep their job. That’s fatphobic bigotry and discrimination. You can’t tell a person’s health or well being by their size. My cousin is super skinny and smokes two packs a day to stay that way- is that healthy? She has to because most people can’t sustain weight loss due to their metabolisms slowing down from extreme food restriction.
