I really love this series! Maybe something like “create a signature _______” for an episode? Like dessert or soup. Conceptualizing the dish is the creative element, then the other badges could be components that go into it.
I'd love to somehow see a badge for saving a dish that's in the midst of going wrong, goodness knows they've all got some experience after all the pass it ons they've done. Good fit for the creativity category, methinks.
Well-done Mike! I'm going to have to give that idea a try, it looks amazing! It would be interesting to have the normals identify ingredients/components of a dish, seeing as they struggled with that today. Equally entertaining to have that be compared to the chefs having to do the same!

Years later and I am still watching. Thank you for still being here! xx
I really like this series so far! Sitting at the edge of my seat waiting to see who gets a badge
Mike just needed to use Janice's voice to ace describing the meal.
You can kind of hear her poking thru when he is reading 😄
Happy Valentines Day
Dad joke of the week
Why shouldn't you fall in love with a pastry chef?
He'll dessert you.
😂
I miss dad joke of the week.
Oh god I instantly heard the "Dad Joke of the Week" jingle in my head. Ta-tara-ta-ta-ta!
@@adde9506 so do i, i wish they bring it back.
The amount of butter these guys used to sauté some of their ingredients... they really are turning into chefs
As a former chef, can confirm! :)
The video is a week old and already I find it good enough for rewatch. Love this series.
Mike looked like he was scared shitless the whole time. He deserves a badge and a half after that compliment from Ben!
It looks like there needs to be an ingredient taste test/identification challenge based on the first two challenges LOL
100% 😂
A blindfolded taste test like they do on Masterchef Australia would be good to really test their palate
Jamie's face when he realizes what Rainbow carrots are realy called lol.
Jamie's face after Ben says "plating skills" is everything
And then he goes and wins that badge!
@@SortedFood I know?! Crazy stuff, very proud!

Watching Ebbers give feedback just reminds me of being in the classroom. Would be a great teacher!
I do not think, having left out NUTS, that Barry should have gotten a badge for his description in the second challenge.
Right? That should have been an immediate disqualification. You do that on a real menu and your restaurant kills someone.
Your allergy is your problem. Just ask you whiny baby.
@@dwightlewis4316 the Internet never fails to serve the most rancid takes I've ever heard
@@thetranscestor9296 I know right! There are literally thousands of allergies out there- acting like it is the restaurant or servers liability for not mentioning every single one of them is insane. My nephew has some very severe allergies and his parents are absolutely responsible about asking about them at restaurants. Imagine blaming a poor waiter for not mentioning soy because you, the person with the allergy, never asked. We live in a society that just wants to blame others.
@@dwightlewis4316 you misunderstand, I'm disagreeing with you. If someone describes a dish to you and doesn't mention nuts, you would have no reason to ask if it contains them. Even aside from the allergy debate, Barry was told to describe the dish and left out a very prominent and visible component, thus he shouldn't have received the badge.
It's really interesting to watch the chefs flex their 'cooking' muscles, especially whenever it shows how levels above the normals they are. I think it would be cool to see the difference, not only between a normal and a chef, but also the difference between a chef and a michelin stared chef. Give a normal, chef and michelin chef the exact same three different ingredients, and see the difference in creativity and technique at the various levels.
can we just talk about how lovely jamie’s handwriting is for a minute
YES!!! Absolutely lovely ❤
@@asiyah7714 i’m so jealous
@@datsvewynice Me too!!! my handwriting sucks

You guys really have to do a blind taste testing ingredients for palettes badge. Hell's Kitchen contestants were known to confuse the simplest ingredients.
My favorite part of the show!!
My favorite series! Can’t wait for more of these.
I don't I have ever been as happy for anyone as I was for Mike winning that creativity badge!
someone wanna count how many times Ben has looked at the camera like it was The Office in this episode?
Identity theft is not a joke.
Ben during the third round talking through the three guys’ cooking process like a sports commentator
The high standards needed make this really fun. Every badge feels earned.
as someone who has worked in professional kitchens for 14 years, Jaime's dish is the only realistic dish that would be served for family/staff meal.
You're probably not wrong... Mike's may not be hugely practical to cook for a dozen chefs... But still... Massively creative!
It was a creativity challenge, not a cooking for a crew challenge
“The other chefs will be thanking you for weeks” yeah, via text or down at the pub once the boss fires you for not using the leftovers and instead cooking duck that wasn’t about to go off.
Big props to Mike for coming up with that awesome ramen burger! I'd be willing to bet that if you threw another 50 people in there to come up with a dish from those ingredients, none would come up with something like that!
Honestly loving this series, its a ton of fun to watch, thanks for the hard work that went into making it!
I would like to see them wearing a sash with their badges like the Girl Guides do 😬
If Ben had his way....
Maybe aprons with badges sewn on!
@@SortedFood should be full girl scout uniform!!! ( Oh god Barry's legs, no changed my mind!).
I really need a sash with badges, dear God!
@@SortedFood Ben *should* have his way. :D
I love how they're waiting for Ben's judgement every time, like they know they're going to get scolded but not necessarily what for ('cause there are plenty of options)
When James is back, hope Ebbers and James would share their experiences working in professional kitchens.
That could even be in a podcast.
Where's he been anyways?
Yeah! I'd love to hear about more of the administrative side of being a chef. Yes, you have to cook, but it's so much more than that especially if you run the kitchen!
You have come back with a bang with this series! This fresh new content has the humor of your older videos with the production quality of your newer ones. Kudos! It has me laughing so hard I’m crying, which was the hallmark of your older videos. 👏🏻
Jay is always my favorite, he just seems like such a cool guy.
I feel like we can all agree that Barry apologizing for leaving the hobs on is what we call Growth.
Ben radiates a sort of inner peace and joy when judging his friends' cooking that I'm not sure many of us will ever achieve.
Ben: "or none if you're rubbish".
Mike after last week: 😳
Love this more please. How about the science behind food? The intermingling of tastes that chefs know off the top of their heads they can pair together?
This is amazing 👍🏻 I love watching all of them. I would eat all the food but Ebbers puts more detail in it, and Jamie makes it so good it's naughty.
Adaptation badge idea:
Reviving a ruined/ spoiled sauce,
Taking a dish to a different part of the world,
Making a savoury dish sweet (vice versa) ?
I like the saving the broth idea.
And "customer asks for something very low sodium" (at a slow time in the restaurant!).
The "Stand up" badge. Have them defend a dish that they designed against the criticism of the chefs.
In other words, a Dessertation
I love how you can see Jamie in the background beating himself up and mouthing the word "heritage".
I just want to say, I love this format! Please keep this up!
Oh it is the best of days seeing Mike be awarded for doing well. He is a heart that makes the show human.
I really love this series! Maybe something like “create a signature _______” for an episode? Like dessert or soup. Conceptualizing the dish is the creative element, then the other badges could be components that go into it.
That duck breast ramen noodle burger was a stroke of genius! Will have to give that one a try myself!
This new introduction is so IMPRESSIVELY well done.
Kind of sums up the whole channel doesn't it?
@@DjTiesticles It really does!
I am loving this new series!!! More chef skills please :)
I'd love to somehow see a badge for saving a dish that's in the midst of going wrong, goodness knows they've all got some experience after all the pass it ons they've done. Good fit for the creativity category, methinks.
“It’s seaweed-y! Of the sea!” -Barry Taylor 2021
Well-done Mike! I'm going to have to give that idea a try, it looks amazing!
It would be interesting to have the normals identify ingredients/components of a dish, seeing as they struggled with that today. Equally entertaining to have that be compared to the chefs having to do the same!
bens “umami?” is a meme 😂😂😂
also i lost it when the boys started pitching their dishes😂😂
Love these! It would be fun to see them identifying things. One could be a bunch of dried spices/seasoning, one could be fresh herbs/ edible flowers, one could be different vinegars, one could be different oils etc.
I love this series! The joy from Mike from finally winning! Magic
