That's Patty Loveless singing with Vince. She's a super star in her own right. After Mr. Roy Acuff lost his wife he would ask Vince to sing this on the Opry. Roy would stand there with tears rolling down his face
The woman is Patty Loveless. She is a magnificent solo artist in her own right and worth looking into some of her solo stuff. But when Vince and Patty sing together it's magical! Vince does backup vocals on some of Patty's songs too. Next Vince Gill: "Whenever You Come Around" Patty Loveless: "Nothing But The Wheel" "How Can I Help You Say Goodbye" "Timber I'm Falling In Love" (with Vince)
One of my favorite is The Heat Won't Lie, a duet with Reba McEntire. The video is great also. They had an earlier duet together too called Oklahoma Swing.
I lived every word of this song when I found my mom dead on thanksgiving and I talked to her for several minutes before realizing she had passed away and she left a note what to do with her. She died at 68 from cigarettes and bc powders. Her favorite singer was Vince gill. Thank you for reacting to this
One of my all time favorites. That's Patty Loveless with him. She has some Wonderful song's too! She sang with Vince at the funeral of George Jones at the Grand Ole Opry on the song GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN! Thank you so much Craig! I appreciate you so very much! Can't even begin to tell you how much I love your reactions and channel! Sending love from South Georgia USA!♥️😃🍟
Although Patty sang this with Vince, she did not appear in the video. I can't remember the name of the girl. They definitely have their own careers, but with absolute perfection in harmonizing they have to do it sometimes! With Patty, Vince and Ricky Scaggs performing together is a real treat!! Ricky Skagg has his own career too & he's very good! Thank you very much for doing this!! Oh, in the hills and hollers they spent their evening playing instruments(some were home made) singing & dancing on the porch!! They had no where to go & nothing to do but make babies! lol 🤠
I had the pleasure of meeting Vince when I lived in Nashville. Great guy, guitar player and golfer. The next generation of singer/guitar player in Nashville includes Keith Urban, whose "Tonight I Wanna Cry" is just as beautiful as this song was.
My favorite song by Vince Gill is If You Ever Have Forever In Mind... beautiful song. In case you didn't know. He had been performing with the Eagles since Glenn Frey passed away.
Patty Loveless is most definitely worth checking out. Wonderful Kentucky gal. I'm from KY also. Chains is her song that comes to mind right away, hD a cute video with it back in the day. Also there's another I liked really well but can't remember title right now. I'll have to research a little. I'm 70 and memory ain't what it once was. Other people might remember. The actor from Officer and a Gentleman, David Keith was in it. She's fantastic. I agree that another good Vince Gill song and video is Look at Us...Great. I can't hear or see When I call your Name without crying A LOT! Sorry about typos. I had an accident last week where I broke my ribs, wrist, had a concussion with a brain bleed and screwed up my eye. It's a little hard to focus. :)
"Whenever You Come Around" is also right up there. Trisha Yearwood is backup singing with him on that one. He also has a live version the same song with the great Alison Krause. Love your reactions!
Thank you for reacting to this gorgeous song ,I love Vinces voice ,it is so soothing to listen to . Patty was a great support to him when he was emotional singing Go rest high on that mountain at George Jones funeral. Great reactions Craig 🇬🇧 👍
Vince is one of my all time fave country artists!!!! He’s currently been touring with The Eagles 👌🏻 check out some of him performing with them !!! My all time Vince song is… I still believe in you 🥰
When Vince Gill, Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs were singing together in a band called Pure Prairie League their Harmony was awesome. You should check out who these three actually are.
You should listen to Look at US. Patty Loveless sings with him and she has a lot of recordings also. Her recording of Don't Toss us Away is really good.
The lady in the video is MATRACA BERG. yes is a singer in her own right. But she was lip syncing the vocals in the video done by the wonderful PATTY LOVELESS a wonderful artist with many many hits leaning to the blue grass side these days. Pleas check them both out
I still believe in us and Look at us are 2 more beautiful songs by Vince. I think you have listened to Patty on the song Nobody gets out of Harlan alive. Another great song by Patty is You don't even know who I am
review your posts! …. the female vocalist is Patty Loveless and you reacted to her song “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive’ a while back …. check her out on You Don’t Even Know Who I Am and another titled Here I Am ……
You want harmonies without instruments listen to Home Free singing Vince's " Go Rest High On The Mountain". Vince now sings with The Eagles since Glen Fry died.
I have watched several of your reaction videos, you seem like a tough guy, that refuses to tear up or cry on video. I'll bet ya, you can't get through this one. RED SOVINE, TEDDY BEAR. If ya do you are either heartless, or the strongest male I have ever seen. GOOD LUCK
If you get a chance take a listen to Joey and Rory the Bible and the belt. Thank you for your reaction always enjoy it God bless you and yours and God bless the USA
There is another popular song with the same themes called "The Note" by Daryle Singletary. I remember noticing the thematic parallels but only just now realized that "The Note" opens with a short steel guitar intro that echoes the ending steel guitar notes of Vince Gill's song. ua-cam.com/video/GLYeDEXKYDw/v-deo.html
I should have mentioned that "The Note" was written before "When I Call Your Name" but earlier recordings did not have the same steel guitar intro as Daryles' version.
Great reaction and thank you!! Vince is special and especially with that voice. Try "Never Knew Loney", "Pocket Full of Gold", "I Believe in You" and my favorite, "Look at Us". ua-cam.com/video/uSfjp1ky4Mw/v-deo.html
Vince Gill and Patty Loveless' voices harmonize better than any two people I can think of. Their voices are haunting. Two songs you might want to check out from the same era are Doug Stone's "I'd be better off (in a pine box)" - one of my top 5 favorite country songs - and Mark Chestnutt's "Too cold at home." As for haunting, I would recommend Alison Krauss' song, "Jacob's Dream."
Mark Chestnut's cover of "I'll Think of Something" is incredible too. I saw Vince in concert in the early 90's, and Patty was his opening act. That was great!
Also, if you want a great Patty Loveless song to react to of her own, try "You'll never leave Harlan alive" (about the Kentucky coal mines near where she grew up) and "You don't even know who I am".
This was a great one! A couple of my favorite Vince songs are "Whenever You Come Around" and "Look At Us" The thing that always stands out the most to me with Vince Gill is his harmonies!
So pleased to have found your channel. You listen to the songs - unlike some others and your reactions come from your heart. Happy for you that this wonderful music is new to you. Enjoy and keep it going love.
Vince Gill is a fabulous story teller. He wrote a song "It's Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night That Chew You Out All Day Long" with Rodney Crowell. The story and reaction from family are funny. Try and find the video of the story and the song. Patty also sang with Vince on Go Rest High on That Mountain. Love you reactions
Patty Loveless is definitely a great solo artist. Here are 3 songs that that I really like. [I try to think about Elvis]. [Chains] [You don't even know who I am]
The backup singer is Patty Loveless. She is incredible. She sings "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" as well as many many other great country songs."How Can I Help You Say Goodbye" is a must listen. Beautiful and heart wrenching. I can't listen to that one without tears.
Vince Gill has been my favorite Country singer since he started. His voice is just the purest sound you'll ever hear. It's been hard for me to listen to him for about the last 4years as a good friend and I had the same appreciation for him and then my friend was killed in a motorcycle accident. Now I cry when ever I here Vinces sweet voice. 😢 Thanks for your appreciation of Vince. 🥀
This was the song that first got me hooked on Vince Gill. And yes, that is Patty Loveless singing harmony vocals, as she did on quite a few of Vince's songs. Thank you, great reaction!
Patty Loveless is an incredible country singer in her own right. There is another Vince Gill song called Go Rest High on that Mountain that Patty loveless and Ricky Skaggs sing with Vince. It is a beautiful song
At the time, Patty was the big star who was the "mystery voice" on this, because they never showed her clear face. He wasn't as big a star as she was back then.
Vince Gill has some amazing songs. Look at us, Whenever you come around, One more last chance, Never knew lonely, Don't let our love start slippin' away, I still believe in you ,The heart won't lie ( a duet with Reba McEntire) give these songs a listen you'll love them. The woman singing harmonies on this song with him is Patty Loveless (she's Loretta Lynn's cousin) and she has some great songs of her own. Here's some of hers : Blame it on your heart, I try to think about Elvis, I'm that kind of girl, Chains, Timber I'm falling in love, Don't toss us away, Hurt me bad(in a real good way), How can I help you say goodbye, Lonely too long, You don't seem to miss me ft. George Jones, You can feel bad, You don't even know who I am, Here I am, to help you find her songs and give her a listen.
Vince has one of the best voices, very recognizable. I love "Whenever You Come Around" and " Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away." They're two of my favorites.
One of my favorite songs/duets by Vince Gill. I love Patty Lovelace as well but haven't heard new music from her in quite awhile. She's an amazing musician as well.
I love Patty Loveless. 90% of the women in country of the 90s were absolutely bosses and rockstars! They lit up the decade. You should check out, "Chains," "Timber, I'm falling in love," or "Blame it on your Heart." Really just about everything from her is top tier.
Can't go wrong with Vince!! I'd love to have you do...Pocket Full of Gold!! Also, Patty Lovelace, who just sang with him is awesome, then throw in Ricky Scaggs & the three of them together is a powerhouse that I can't even think of comparing them to!! But Please do Pocket Full of Gold!! Btw, I love your reactions!! Thank you!!

For a more lighthearted side of Vince Gill, may I suggest One More Last Chance. George Jones makes a funny, short cameo at the end of the official video.
My heart aches for this kind of Country music. I miss it so much!
I remember those days.....the music was magic.
That's Patty Loveless singing with Vince. She's a super star in her own right. After Mr. Roy Acuff lost his wife he would ask Vince to sing this on the Opry. Roy would stand there with tears rolling down his face

What a beautiful, beautiful song! What harmonies and Vince's voice is perfection.
She is Patty Loveless. She has sang with him before. They sound great together, don’t they? Great song!
