    Picked my Verde S up last week and am over the moon. Ok, I'm in my 50s but this Guzzi just does everything I'm looking for out of a bike. Aesthetically, it's a piece of Italian art. Couldn't be happier. Just need to get my head around all the TFT menus and fine tune.

    After doing a 3 week 3,500 miles tour of Europe in the summer on my Ducati Diavel I started to look at sports tourers. Took out a white v100 for as test drive and as soon as I got back to the dealers, order one. What a fantastic bike, my 1st moto Guzzi.

    Other than just some styling exercise for Guzzi, which admittedly is far more successful than we all could’ve hoped for in attracting audiences from all walks of life, what I appreciate is that Guzzi didn’t just “catch up” to the rest of the market in bringing everything new to Guzzi, to receive a sort of “oh, good for them” sort of response, no, they managed to also bring something innovative to the industry by way of those adaptive aero panels. This might not spread to other bikes or manufacturers down the road, but it reminds me of when Harley released their Pan America. They didn’t just “catch up” but also introduced their electronic lowering suspension, and now you see Ducati implementing it in their new Rally Multi V4. The industry is so competitive in a space really not too large at all compared to the auto industry, if a company wishes to survive, they can’t only keep up, but push boundaries, so I’m happy and excited to see how both Harley and Guzzi move forward, and other manufacturers for that matter.

    Took a test ride on the white base model on release date at my nearest dealer. I'd already fallen in love with the press release videos and reviews from journalists. Soon as I rode this beauty, I had to have one. Easy to handle for a litre bike, very reassuring yet powerful and fun. At first, I wanted the S version in green/silver but unlike release videos, comes with black wheels not gold! Not what I wanted and don't get why you can't order the gold rims with a new order. Missing a trick there Guzzi! Anyway, dealer had a red one with lovely gold wheels and I decided I couldn't benefit much from the Ohlins suspension, quick shifter, TPMS, heated grips and smartphone integration. I have good heated gloves, smartphone integration to my helmet and the standard suspension and usual gearshift was very good for me. Saves £2250 which paid for panniers (arrived and fitted 2 weeks after taking delivery) plus top box and engine protectors with cash to spare for insurance, tax and a service.
    Great build quality, reliability unknown as yet, more characterful and classy than equivalent Triumphs and Hondas that I've owned a few of before. Sounds fantastic, so smooth and just quite different (in many good ways) to the competition. Panniers are excellent and so easy on and off. Bit of a long wait for topbox, rack and engine protectors. Guzzi need to up their game with parts/accessories supply but otherwise, a sheer delight and feel so lucky to be owning this bike!

    I usually have zero interest in modern bikes but this is the first machine in years I am actually considering purchasing. Still has the Guzzi DNA and enough power balanced with good technology. I love Guzzis and own an 850 Le Mans. Good review by the way.

    Being a Guzzi owner myself… for me the V100 screams ART ART ART!!! DESIGN DESIGN!!!!
    The way they solved the ‘quarter turn ‘outside’ of the cilinders therefore assembling the exhausts on the outside ( creating space for the cooler) is so coole!!!! Wish I could effort it!!!

    Last year (2021), I started bird-dawgin this Italian beauty.
    In September 2022, I gave Plano, Texas USA Moto Guzzi a $500 deposit.
    Early in the morning of 10/17/2022, on the Moto Guzzi USA web store, I entered my online “reservation” for the 2023 V100 Mandello “S” in “Centenario” Livery (premium Verde 2121 color) - Special Edition $17,490.
    The customer care representative told me my Order# 190 was the 1st V100 Mandello order received by Moto Guzzi USA.
    I’m SUPER EXCITED!
    To me, the V100 Mandello is STUNNINGLY EXOTIC & HANDSOME!

    One of the best if not the best review of this glamour motorcycle, not surprisingly on this channel. The way you describe the outskirts of Mandello del Lario, using James Bond as a comparison, so true. That’s what it is about, a great wine in the right recipient in the right place. You don’t buy a Patek Philippe to know what time it is, or drink a Château Margaux because you’re thirsty. This Guzzi will move both the body and the soul.

    I am a Guzzi guy. At 71 I love the V100. I'd like to travel the USA on this bike. BUT, BUT my local dealer won't be there, will they? I need a big support system for a big country. Honda, HD and Kaw would be a better choose. Multiple weeks in a hotel is a scary thought. Dam, it might be worth it because I've had a few bike over the years and Guzzi just does it for me!

    I've always had bikes (and always Italian ones since the mid-90s) but never, ever thought about buying a new bike. Until now. A rush of blood to the head two weeks ago and I had no hesitation in ordering a Mandello S. My Gen 1 Tuono, that I dearly love, will have to make way for it. If you look at it objectively, however, the V100 isn't really a new class of bike; it's what all bikes used to be before the mid-80s. In other words, a motorbike. Something that looked great, went well, worked perfectly for 90% of owners, 90% of the time, by people who didn't want to go off-road or do track days and also couldn't afford, or have the space for, a fleet of bikes for every occasion. I am lucky to own some lovely (quick enough) old 80s and 90s bikes but I think the V100 could actually be my only bike.........if I could just bring myself to part with the others!

    Im a certified petrolhead (born in America of Italian descent) and i am just getting into motorcycles now in my late 40s. One thing that i have noticed (and its likely because there is a much smaller german market presence and a much stronger Italian and Japanese presence than in the automotive world) that Italians and their products are actually treated fairly and with due respect. It seems to actually be baked into the motorcycle journalist community. I have to be honest and say in any english language car content italian cars are negatively stereotyped generally treated like crap (and usually complete with goofy racist tropes like its cool or something).
    Part of it is that the Italian car industry has had more ups and downs than the more robust and steadier Italian 2 wheeled industry did, and that means the product suffered giving people the excuse to be provincial knobs, but it would always rub me wrong when auto journalists (and this is across the entire English speaking world, not an exclusively UK thing, if anything the stereotypes and laughing at and not with vibe seems worse in America after the return of FIAT and Alfa Romeo, but i digress)...anyway its refreshing to watch a video in English on an Italian product and not have your culture derided...but in fact celebrated as in the case of this video. It doesnt hurt that this seems like a cracking motorcycle...i think i want one.
    Anyway you guys seem very fair and unbiased and i honestly feels this extends to your motorcycle journalist colleagues in general, and it only makes me feel like i may have found my tribe...Motorcyclists are indeed a breed apart and i look forward to exploring this world further. All the best and look forward to more videos.

    Seems like a good competitor for the r1250r. Its less powerful but lighter and it has better wind protection but its not fully protected. The engines stick out the sides. And once you start clicking around in bmws options they are basically the same price.

    best looking bike release I have seen in a while. One thing that does put me off some of the Italian brands (gizzi, aprilia and MV) is the lack of dealers. If that improves then the Italian design and spec is too good not to consider.

    I think these look great, the Armani suit analogy spot on, and I like the idea of a Guzzi but you hear so many stories of bad support when things go wrong...which they will do. This makes me shy away from lashing out that kind of money. The R1250RS would also be a competitor and would probably get my money.

    I cant wait. Hopefully going to get my Mandello S around Christmas. Dealer just told me the side cases have arrived. Thats for to be a first for Guzzi accessories ready before the bike (waited nearly 10 months for a centre stand for my V7 850). Had a test ride on the standard version 2 weeks ago. Fabulous thing, even as a shorty with 29in inside seam it was manageable. Build quality looked really fad. Its a Guzzi Ok but not as we know it. Some die hard Guzzisti will hate it. My only gripe is the side stand is a bit of a bugger to deploy if youve got short legs.

    Will get one...about a year after they've had real-world road time. The reliability should be much better than any previous MG, but there's still a dearth of dealers in the US, and independents are not keen to work on them after warranty. If you've only got room for one bike, if it is up against the Tracer 9GT, the nod would have to go to the Yamaha. Entertaining is a different way, but no questions about running costs and long-term reliability. You can't have fun on a bike that's in the shop.

Electric motor in screen motor is load compared to Bmw, and switch gear looks great quality until you press buttons, I am being picky as I have BMW,s. and a Ducati, who switch gear is better Quality.

    The BMW R1250RS is the forgotten sports tourer! 1254cc shaft drive boxer-twin with over 130hp & 140Nm torque at the crank 😊 Great spec too if you tick the options boxes for a similar price to the Guzzi. The Mandello does look classier though I can't argue with that!

    • @markellott5620
      @markellott5620 2 роки тому +1

      Yes, this is the main competitor. I've had BMWs for around thirty years, but finally decided to switch to the Guzzi. The last RS I had was the original oilhead boxer - the 1100. If you look at the style of that bike, there are echoes in the V100.

    • @terrellgarren7125
      @terrellgarren7125 2 роки тому

      Nothing against the RS but I never figured out its purpose. The RT is a more comfortable sport tourer, and the GS is a more capable sport tourer.

    • @markellott5620
      @markellott5620 2 роки тому

      @Terrell Garren the GS is more dual purpose. The RS is the classic sport tourer. I started with one of those before switching to the RT. They are different enough, although overall, I preferred the RT.
      The V100 is a bike I'd consider an all rounder.

    • @terrellgarren7125
      @terrellgarren7125 2 роки тому

      @@markellott5620 Well, I said more capable, you countered with dual purpose. So many categories of bikes and now you add "all rounder". Never mind, I think you just want to debate.

    • @markellott5620
      @markellott5620 2 роки тому +2

      @@terrellgarren7125 Not really, just responding in kind to your points as people do when having a conversation. People like to categorise bikes and I'm not convinced this is a good idea. The term all rounder is as old as the hills. It's a do anything bike - commuter, Sunday rider, long distance two up tourer. I haven't added anything new with this description.
      The GS is a dual purpose bike in a way that the other boxers aren't, as it is designed to be ridden off road and on. When it first came out, it was very much a dirt bike. It's evolved since then, but not everyone wants a tall, heavy off road bike, hence the RS fits nicely in between this and the RT. If the V100 hadn't come along, I'd have switched back to the RS from the RT. I would never consider a GS. Too tall and I would never take it on the rough. So, yes, the RS has its place.

    Had a black '08 Norge and currently own a green 2012 Stelvio NTX; Moto GUZZI is lit and the v100 is just the tip of the iceberg if you consider the broader scope of what they plan to do with the factory itself in the coming years.
    Can we actually wave goodbye to the electrical gremlins and soft roller tappets of yesteryear; and how easy will it be with the new models to change a clutch out? These are the questions that Guzzisti want to know, and that the new market should know if we're moving into a new paradigm with the brand.

    I totally disagree with you about what bikes it competes with. Of course it is the Ninja SX and GSX1000GT. The bikes you compared it to are more "I wanna go offroad" while the Moto Guzzi and the GT/SX are sporttourers.
    I drive the Ninja SX now but went to EICMA both -21 and this year to look and sit on it.
    I´m very keen on driving one, if it is as great as it looks, i´ll by one. It would be the S model but I would like the gold rims.

      In my present bike (Ninja SX) I have more power than the V100 but I almost never uses it outside the tracks. It is the tourqe that thrills me, the SX have a lot of it, the V100 have more at lower RPM.

      @@KnoxArmour Hello Aaron, as a happy Ninja owner who comes from a R1250GS and a keen reader/follower of articles/videos related to motorbikes, I'm always a bit at at a loss when journalists talk about "character", it's very subjective, isn't it? Arguably the BMW flat-twin is more characterful than an Japanese DOHC inline-four but I switched to the Ninja because I find the engine more refined, mechanically less "busy", acoustically more discreet (although I wear earplugs, highway stints on the GS were not very agreeable because of the rather noisy exhaust), it has a beefy midrange that allows you to pull in sixth gear when you're doing 50km/h, it is seriously fast when you climb up the rev range which it does with a lot of ease... what else do you want from an engine? Why would this account to a deficit of character? Unless of course you want to savor the character by just cruising along and feeling the vibrations and the beautiful exhaust note or by listening to it at standstill. But is character any distinctive attribute when it comes to doing miles, covering ground and attacking the bends? Cheers

A forward controls options would have made this bike perfect for everyone. It is annoying, must European and Japanese motorcycles manufacturers mostly cater to short and average height riders with exception of the American companies like Harley Davidson and Indian.

    Just recently pre ordered the tracer 9gt+ and I don't regret it one bit. Other than looks and shaft drive I'd rather stick with yamaha. Moto guzzi has alot of new parts on this bike that could go wrong like the gimmick of the tank flaps. At 16k it's 3 to 4 grand more expensive than main competition without even adding luggage. Don't get me wrong if I wanted a bike I was just looking at then this wins hands down easy. Price and reliability I will stick to yammy

As for it being new, therefore potentially unreliable, as mentioned int he video, all of the tech is tried and tested on other bikes and has the pedigree. Anything can go wrong, even Yamahas.
