Your test car didn't have skirts or spoilers so exactly the same as base models bodywise?? Totally wrong about the interior, the least claustrophobic and well put together of its class..Bland and not very informative review...Are you looking for presenters with car knowledge? You need one!
Why do a lot of critics/people think we buy cars to go round a racetrack at lunchtime and weekends or we need a top of the range executive car? The vauxhall Astra may not be as good as Ford focus or VW Golf in a class of 3 but that surely does not make it a bad choice.
I have a red Astra 2L CDTi Sri, i love it, shows you cant rely on all reviews, especially for the price and the specs (front and back sensors, LED daytime running lights etc). The handling isnt bad either. I also disagree about the boot space being inadequate
Late comment to this post but I got myself a 1.4 turbo 5 door, 2014 model. I have loved this car ever since I bought it 2nd hand in September 2018. I must say I absolutely love the car, the looks, combination of power and fuel consumption. I have always loved how the car handled, now even more so I replaced all 4 shocks and front shock mountings, control arms in the past 2 weeks. It is definitely not the fastest, nor the most liked here in South Africa but it has its own flair and must be commended for it.
5 critics will always have different things to say. General consensus is that the astra it is a good car and great value for money . Many critics talk as if everyone wants a race car or a high end executive car.
@@gimlifan12 it’s okay, I have a couple of complaints tho lol one being the A pillar’s - they’re way wider on the Astra so visibility around corners isn’t as great as the focus. I’ve spent more on this car already at the garage then I did my focus in over the 2 years I owned it. I do like it though x
