@@Manwes_Inspiring_Trax Yup, it's in the brass blowing in the part of 0:15 - 0:28 - all that's missing is a 'Now Fall!' afterwards :D Such small nods are in many musical tracks - Like 'Away' having a part of the theme of 'Endwalker' in it.

@@daeronxi2804 It's around the time in the song before the chorus starts singing "Awaaaaaaay" a few times. The notes before are the same as in the Endwalker melody at the final trial boss. Around 3:30 in the full version of "Away"
The battle reminded me like a Godzilla/kaiju fight straight off a movie. Especially how Ifrit moved before getting used to his powers later on in the game. Was epic!
As epic as all the ifrit fights were, this one this is hands down my favorite. The timing, the theme, finding out he was ifrit the while time and you are finally awakening your powers again. It was all perfect

@DarkRei7 I knew at some point he was going to be Ifrit, just wasn't sure if they were going with the "he was ifrit all along" or if he ended up inheriting the powers
@@shevo101 thing is they've been dropping lore since the second trailer and they mentioned dominants being born with the ability to become an Eikon so as soon as you connect the dots you have the answer
hearing the classic prelude hidden in this epic piece is such an amazing experience. I love how most of these pieces are so layered with different themes, I honestly didn't expect this kind of work when I saw Soken's name
Soken hides prelude in a TON of his work.
Outstanding boss fight from the moment you encounter Benedicta up the climax of this fight. Utterly nuts.

I know it makes sense because Clive learned to control it, but man, do I wish we saw more of this Ifrit.
I replayed this fight a few days ago, and I forgot what an absolute beast of hell Ifrit was in this.
It starts with them on equal ground, then Ifrit starts gaining the upper hand because Garuda realises it's going for the kill with every single blow, and by the end of the fight it's Garuda desperately trying to escape Ifrit.
And the way it finishes her off is insane, too.
I was expecting it to pull off some epic attack or just finish her off like it did with the Phoenix, but nope, he just grabs her, roasts her, and *fucking HELLFIRES HER.*
It's almost similar to when Clive was going after Kupka after he lost control of Titan. Except, in that scenario, Clive had learned to control Ifrit making him more mobile. But he was going straight for the kill same as fighting Garuda, because Kupka royally fucked up when hurting Jill, and that set him off. If he decided to use Hellfire against Titan, that would nuke the entirety of Drake's Fang - inside AND outside.

@@CaliMisfitI may not know Soken or FF 14 but after playing 16, I'm convinced Soken belongs in the Legendary music composer group alongside Mick Gordon of Doom and Nobuo Uematsu of the original FF series.
@@Dante999000damn straight he does. His variety I’m FF14 is nothing short of incredible, you should give it a listen. Uematsu himself had actually said that he considers Soken to be his successor.

But seriously, I was waiting for Benedikta to take a breath when they showed her body. It would've been so much more interesting if they had kept her alive instead of using her body to set up a clash with Hugo (who, let me just say, was much less interesting than Benedikta as a character, despite his epic fight). I'd be surprised if there isn't at least one "What if Benedikta survived?" fanfic out there somewhere. And if there isn't, hell, I might just write it myself after I finish the game (no spoilers please).

Im kind of new to FF so how the hell do the eikons work? Is it like the tailed beasts from naruto where you can just steal one?
@@charlie-cv5dfin this one (FF16) they kinda do work like tailed beast from Naruto. Only difference is they’re spirits that CHOOSE their host. Naruto Jinchuriki / Tailed beast_ FF16 Dominant / Eikon. Eikons cannot die but the dominant can. Example: if Benedika, the Dominant of the Eikon of wind, Garuda were to die, at some point in the future Garuda will be born again within a new dominant.

The inspiration for the Eikon battles were from AoT/ Neon Genesis Evangelion/ Godzilla and Ultraman. 😎

This fight gave me some of attack on titans feeling, since i’m battling in an open forest or fields
Benedikta also looks a lot like Annie, and they even gave Ifrit the really cool regenerating arm shot from Eren vs Reiner in season 2

really fucked that benedikta has this whole nice leitmotif that you can catch bits of in her cutscenes and you only really get to hear it in all its glory while she's getting the piss beaten out of her in a quick time event. why didn't they let soken cook
