    MIND BLOWN!!!! I had to rewind that part and show my wife. You really didn’t have to do that but I’ll definitely take it. Thanks my friend. Whenever I’m feeling down I’ll just rewatch this video to give myself a big pick-me-up.
    That aside, I love the logo…especially the weathered look on the first one. Both were great in their own unique way. I also see your subs have really been going up. Great job!

      hahaha, I am glad you actually caught that. I also added your page to my "channels I watch" list on my UA-cam homepage. You have been so supportive to me that I wanted to return the favor. Plus, I think your banner picture is hilarious. Keep on truckin'!

    Do you have or can you make a video where you take us thru the process of how you told your software how to cut this ? I’d love to know the process and feeds, speeds and where or when you told it to engrave and where you told it to take material out and how you did that step by step

    Are you using a Makita router, I saw it in your list and I am wondering how you like it? I purchased a CNC in 2009 and it came with a Bosch, which within 10 hours of work it ate up 2 of them. I have a Dewalt now, but due to medical and physical issues, have not been able to try it out. I have seen some of your other videos and your projects are turning out fantastic. I always have hold down issues, which wastes a lot of wood.

      Hey Norman. If you're looking at just routers (not spindles) then the Makita is a good one. I have over 1,000 hours on my current router and its still going strong.

    Well done! does the onfinity come with drag chains now or did you purchase them from a third party?

    • @EigenDesigns

      That’s a good question. The actual drag chains I bought from Amazon, but the brackets and mounting hardware I found on Etsy. I have some more details on how to buy this in my unboxing video: ua-cam.com/video/tDFD17GlAv8/v-deo.html . Also, here is a link to where you can find these drag chains:
      amzn.to/3lPxymf they aren’t that expensive and really help out with the cable management.

    Another great video. I'm currently conducting research on buying a CNC, and I really like the OneFinity CNC. However, I know nothing about a CNC, especially the software. I know you stated in the video the CAD software you were using was Fusion 360, which I'm vaguely familiar with. Can you tell me the CAM software you use? Thanks for your reply.

    • @EigenDesigns

      Sounds like we were in similar positions. I ended up going with the OneFinity because I didn't want to have to tune/upkeep belts and pulleys used by other systems. The main draw back of OneFinity is the long lead time, although this may be present for others as well.
      The nice thing about fusion 360 is that it contains both the CAD software and the CAM software in the same program. You can seamlessly switch between the two, which I have found very helpful when iterating tool paths on a design. It's an expensive software for the professional, but they offer a free version for the hobbyist. You can find the download link for it here:

      @@EigenDesigns Thank you so very much for your time in answering my questions as I know this takes time away from your schedule, but I sincerely appreciate your help and quick response. I love your video format how each part starts with the underlined title and the clarity of your videos. Again, thanks for your generous help along my CNC path.

      @@EigenDesigns Have you found that you can conduct most of your projects with the free version?

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 роки тому +1

      @@Finewoodworkingofsc There are not many limitations in capability from what I have seen so far. The hobbyist version does limit you to 10 saved projects that can be editable, but you can manage this by making old projects temporarily "un-editable" to free up capacity. I have not been limited from a functionality point thus far.

    NEW SUBSCRIBER!! I am new to CNC and love your videos. I have a newbie question, how do you know what type of bits to use? I see that you cleaned up the design with a flat end mill bit, is this from just trial and error or does the software recommend what bits to use? Thank you

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you - glad to have you as part of the community.
      Regarding bits, as you do more CNC work you will develop a sense for what type of bit you will need for the cut you are trying to make. For example, if you're engraving letters its pretty common to use a 45 degree bit or a 30 degree bit. However, if you're trying to clear a lot of material then a flat end mill bit or even a bull nose bit is a better fit for the job. There are some good tutorials out there if you want to get an overview as to what bit types there are, but experience is the best teacher in my opinion.

    Thanks for the video! Like many, I have a 1F on order and am studying away while waiting. I am a Fusion 360 fan but also plan on using Vectric VCarve Pro. I noticed you left it out on your workflow chart. Have you considered using Vectric VCarve?

    • @EigenDesigns
      @EigenDesigns  3 роки тому

      Hey Alan! I hadn't taken a hard look at Vectric Vcarve. What are some of the strengths of the software? I am curious to hear your thoughts.

    • @BigHWorks
      @BigHWorks 3 роки тому

      @@EigenDesigns Vectric VCarve Pro is focused on CNC routers. It has a post processor available for the 1F. It also has a laser module that can be added. While it is expensive, after watching numerous tutorials and reviews, I am planning to buy it from 1F with their discount. I will continue to use Fusion 360 as well.

      Not trying to brag, but a 4 minute response time is faster than our local fire department. Just sayin
