Congratulations to @aarong402 for being selected as the winner of the Whiteside CNC bit set giveaway! He will be receiving a brand new set of the 4 Whiteside bits I use the most on my CNC projects. I also want to thank everyone who left a New Year’s resolution in the comments. I was overwhelmed by the positivity and wholesomeness of the comments left by my viewers. Thank you for making this such a great, welcoming community. Stay tuned for future videos. I will likely do more of these giveaways in the future to help give back to this amazing community.
Thanks for sharing your projects, love them all. This year’s resolution is to slow down a bit and make more time for family. Spend more time designing and working on CNC projects that I really enjoy.
Recently discovered your channel and subscribed. My New Year's resolution is to reorganize the garage and add a CNC into the shop. I want to go with the Foremen, but not sure if it will fit. Everyone says go to big!! Thank you for your videos!
Hey Doug, glad to have you as a subscriber. I bought a smaller one to start with and my advice to you would be to get the biggest you can fit into both your shop and your budget. I hope you're able to hit your goals in 2024!
That's a great goal and big step forward. I feel like a dedicated shop is when you know you have made it as a wood worker. I hope you're able to achieve this is 2024 Lee!
Thank you for explaing everything so clearly. I'm a total beginner - just got my first CNC and cant waity to get started. I have a lot to learn and your video is a great start.
My New Year’s Resolution was to get out into my shop more this year. In 2022 I dang near lived in my shop, but ended up moving to a new state in Dec 22. For some reason, I had trouble getting my butt out into the shop in 2023. I plan to make 2024 a year of more fun in the shop!
Great ideas in this video. Thanks. Two goals this year. 1. Design and build the nicest piece of furniture I've ever made. I'm thinking liquor cabinet. 2. Lower my golf handicap by 5 strokes.
Awesome ideas! Mine is to find a new creative craft that I can truly dive into and possibly turn into my own business. Woodworking? Metalworking? 3D printing? Who knows but I am currently really enjoying going down the rabbit hole of woodworking.
My new years resolution for this year is to get a certification or two and to do one major project a month giving me 12 big projects for the year. All leading up to a bigger project at the end of the year. It’s the little project in between and the monthly ones that will build the confidence I need to do the bigger ones.
Love the Falcon tray so much! This year I am doing my first real craft shows, so my goals are to build up enough stock on time, and to design a booth that draws people in.
Thanks for all the informative content that you put out. I have learned a ton from you. My resolution is to put more of yours and others info to work for me and my creations.
Get wife's shop and mine done so I could get my wood working shop up and running a long with my Lazer and cnc up and running... love your videos and thank for sharing your projects to give everyone ideas and your g codes to help out newbie like me.
Great Video! My New Years resolution is to go on a walk with my family at least 4 times a week and get started creating with the CNC I got for Christmas!
Those are both great goals, Ryan. Time with the family is always a good investment. I hope 2024 gives you the opportunity to reach both of these goals.
Great video, love the humor of the shark cookie board. My new years resolutions are to learn more about inlays with my cnc and focus more on mental health. Happy new years to all.
Inlays are fun and challenging. It adds a completely new dimension to CNC work. There's a lot of really good information on this over at @twomoosedesign
Love the video. My resolution is to share my love for CNC work with others, both on the projects produced and the knowledge I learn through the journey.
I like your videos, looking forward to watching more. My new years resolutions to work more in my shop and learn how to use my cnc better. I have avoided it for a while but finally completed a couple of.projects and they turned out really nice. Gives me the confidence to try more projects out.
Great video as usual Mark! My new year’s resolution is to finally get my cnc up and running and use it to grow my small business. Thanks for all you do. Great job!
Cool designs, and nice video! My resolution this year is completely rearrange my shop as many times as needed to create an inviting environment for making.
I love this goal. What are your ideas for organizing your shop? I have found over the years that if I keep my shop clean and organized I am much for inclined to spend time in there.
@@EigenDesigns I do not have a specific plan, so I will mobilize any tools that need it and try new configurations/orientations until somethings feels right.
Thanks Johnny. CNCs are a lot of fun and provide an infinite outlet for your creativity. The learning curve is steep at first, but you'll be a pro in no time!
Just came across your channel. You have some nice designs. I don't normally make New Years resolutions, but if I did this year it would be to sell some CNC projects to at least pay for the CNC router I just ordered.
Another great video, as usual. My main woodworking goal for 2024 is to focus on organization in my shop. I started in December and I'm hoping to finish by April or May by adding french cleats to hang stuff and reorienting my dust collection. It's already proved to be much more efficient with with the few changes I've made over the last month.
This is a great goal, Peter. I have invested a lot of time and energy into organizing my shop (and keeping it clean) and it makes my shop a much for effecient and inviting environment to be in. I have really enjoyed my french cleat wall and find that it helps me keep track of what is missing (e.g. if something isn't on the wall it is very obvious). Building holders for each tool also helped me get rid of non-essential tools or duplicates of things that I had. Hope 2024 is a great year for you.
Thank you for sharing your video. It was very helpful. I am new to the cnc world. I just got an entry-level unit to start learning. I am hoping it will make a great addition to my shop and what I can do.
My New Years Resolution is Family. Spend more quality time with each of them. And making fun things with the CNC is great way to make gifts vs buying another gift card.
That's a great goal, Chris. I hope you're able to grow your business and achieve these goals in 2024. I always find it's helpful to set SMART goals - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This is your year bud :)
Hey Mark, Congrats on 20k subscribers. I took most of 2023 away from woodworking and CNCing so my New Year's resolution is to get back into the shop more this year.
New subscriber here. Those are nice little easy projects to make. My goal this year is to use my Onefinity more often. I need to make things more often, at least twice a week. Thanks for the video!
My goals are to get my shop organized. And to get my cnc up and running again. I haven’t touched it for a while. I have an xcarve and it’s out of square.
My New Year's Resolution is to reconfigure the entire shop to make room for my first venture into CNC with the Shapeoko 5 Pro 4x4 that arrives in, wait, 6 days!? I have so much work to do. Lots of plans from coasters to classic Mini Cooper dashboards. Might even carve out that Pinball Whitewood my son is begging me to do.
Congratulations on 20k!! My resolution is to make and sell my first CNC product designed entirely by me. I’ve sold my services for a long time in finish carpentry, but never my own designed product. Cheers!
My shop new years goal is actually to not only use holiday profit $ to buy a cnc, but also learn to do the actual file designs myself before the next Christmas holiday season starts instead of always hunting for files to buy!
Great video. Excellent projects to get people going. My New Years Resolution is to get my shop back in order. I had a remote site with a lot of duplicate tools and when the project ended I ended up with everything in my home shop. I have slowly started selling off the duplicates and can almost see light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it's not a train LOL
Mark - it's been a while since you've done some new CNC videos. This one follows the early tradition that you established - so congrats on another great one. My 2024 goal is to build a new shop in my basement. I've already relocated my Onefinity X-50 there, but need to create the new space to house all of my tools. I had to take a hiatus this past summer to help a friend who was diagnosed with lymphoma. She didn't make it after a 5 month battle. Now refocused on a new year and back to skill building and creating new and useful projects for friends and family. All the best in 2024!
Sounds like a great goal Tom! I hope you're able to find the time and energy to get setup in your basement and continue fueling your passion for the craft. I hope 2024 is a great year for you.
My New Year's Resolution is to finish putting my CNC together and get my garage/ shop organized. My spoilboard is inspired by the one you made for your CNC.
New subscriber - one questions - did you make those maple panels or find a source to buy them? I've only ever seen pine "project panels", but the maple is much nicer.
Hey Brian, yeah I made the panels. I didn't include that part in the content because I have shown that in prior videos so I tried to keep this one focused on just the cnc content. It sure would be a time saver if you could purchase maple in project panels.
That's a great goal. I am interested to hear what you will focus on to help achieve this (e.g. focus on more marketing, increase production, make more content, etc.). I hope 2024 is a great year for you and your CNC business.
@@EigenDesigns thank you sir! I would like to focus on more content and production. My background is in sales and marketing so that part isn't so scary. Being able to produce more content to become more relevant is a huge focal point this year!
Hi Mark, wederom mooie / strakke ontwerpen. Als beginnende cnc’er is bij geadviseerd om mij niet toe te leggen om (snij)planken omdat de markt hiervan verzadigd is. Hoe sta jij hier tegenover. Hi Mark, again beautiful / sleek designs. As a novice CNC professional, I have been advised not to focus on (cutting) boards because the market is saturated with them. How do you feel about this?
Hi George, I would agree that cutting boards are tough to sell because the market is saturated. My advice would be to develop something unique or original to make your products stand out from the rest.
Great to see you back. All look amazing. I’m about to purchase my first CNC machine so going to have to learn to use it as well as everything that comes with it. Noticed quality bits are also expensive. Hopefully by March 1st I’ll be producing something or just buying files if nothing else. 🤷🏻♂️
I would highly recommend investing in quality bits Peter. The cheap ones aren't worth your time and can even ruin a project if you're not careful. I hope your CNC journey brings you joy and fulfillment 😄
Thanks Bryan! It was quite an investment, both from a time standpoint and the thought that went into the design. Now that I have it up and running, it's been amazing. The threaded inserts and dog holes have really changed the way I use my CNC. My spoilboard has become a utility in and of itself. I have a video on it if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/wm2yL85eNJE/v-deo.htmlsi=3y_2h71BONmVPc9O
@@EigenDesignsThanks I had already sought it out and I've ordered threaded inserts. I have a 3D printer myself so I'm printing some toe holds already 😅
My 2024 NY resolution is to get my CNC side hustle to $1k/mo in profits so I can bring my wife home from her job. I really enjoyed this video. You have some great ideas and you’re a very thorough presenter. New Subscriber here!
@@EigenDesigns I forgot to mention that I really liked the whisky flight the best. I can see making that as my first project once I get a machine. Now, I have to decide on Shapeoko, or OneFinity or Axiom. 🧐
@@johnshipps441 They are all good machines. I have had two OneFinity CNCs and they have been nothing short of spectacular. The one drawback was the long lead time when I ordered each machine, but that's my only complaint. I also like how they continue to iterate and improve their design and add new accessories. Good luck in your decision!
I have 2 New Year’s resolutions: 1) learn to use my CNC more and try more elaborate projects and 2) get healthier than I was on January 1st. Thank you for all of your content!!!
This is my first video watching of yours. I like this type of straight forward video and content. I also like your projects. I will be watching more of your videos starting with your spoilboard video you have linked My new years resolution is ..... 1. Become a better woodworker/maker 2. Make more time with the family
Hey Aaron - congratulations! You have been selected as the winner of the Whiteside CNC Bit Set giveaway. Can you please send an email to eigendesigns20@gmail.com so I can organize deliver details?
Great video and ideas. My 2024 resolution is to learn Fusion 360 for my coming Onefinity Journeyman Elite and Bambu Labs 3D printer. Have a happy and safe 2024.
Great video. News Years resolution is to be able to get the Onefinity Elite Foreman and add cnc cutting to my laser engraving.. I think the 2 would get along great...
You'll love the Elite Foreman Dale. If you end up getting the laser that goes with it, let me know what you think about it. I hope 2024 is a great year for you.
Just found your channel. Quality video that's also interesting. Loved the written commentary. My goal for this year is to go deeper in cad/cam and try to make some really unique things. Here's to a banner year for all. Cheers.
Top notch, as always, Mark! I've learned a ton of CNC tips by watching. Already bought the MF plans off Etcy, just gotta get them exported from Fusion for my XCarve. Cheers and happy New Year!
Great video, it teaches me a lot. My resolution for 2024 is to start a small business with my low-end CNC so that I can buy better equipment and grow (while I study).
My new years resolutions: become very comfortable with fusion 360 for CAM, get product into the hands of customers, and have an online store (not Etsy) Thanks for the ideas. I'll see if you have fusion cam lessons. Cheers
Great video, as always, Mark! Congratulations on 20k subscribers. I remember when you had less than 200 and said if you hit 1,000 you were getting a Saw Stop. You've come a long way and despite your videos always being top-notch, they have improved greatly! My goal for 2024 is to stop just recording projects and actually edit and post some videos. I have so many ideas, I can't crank them out fast enough, so I need to focus on what's already recorded and then work on new content.
That’s AWESOME!!! The fact that you already have footage is half the battle and twice as far as I’ve come. You got this! Reply to this post when you post a vid. I’ll get an email alert and I’d be happy to Sub and support your growth.
@CampfireWoodworksRVA thank you! I do have a UA-cam Short posted under @UBSquaredWoodworks. It's basically just a placeholder for the name, but I would certainly appreciate the sub.
Bryan, you were subbed when I had less than 200 subscribers?? You're one of the OGs then. Thanks for the continued support. I just subscribed to @UBSquaredWoodworks. I am your 4th subscriber so please remember me when you get your 1 Million sub UA-cam plaque 😄
Beautiful work! I can't tell from the video but do you use stock that's been laminated together to try and prevent warping or are you using full width milled stock?
Mark, great video. Direct and to the point. I just ordered a Onefinity Elite Foreman CNC and in this new year I plan to learn to use this wonder machine by making plenty of mistakes and then coming back to videos like yours to see what I did wrong! (I am sure several of those mistakes will involve breaking endmills) That's how we learn isn't it?
My goals for the year is to learn more with my CNC and fusion. I try to keep myself from getting angry at the machine knowing it'll just do what I tell it to do. after messing up a project several times, I take a step back and breath. the Z zero seems to kill me everytime with the z probe. I'll continue to take a breath and refuse to be defeated. outside of woodworking, I'd like to learn to be a better leader. Im always told Im doing great, but theres always room for improvement. always forward and 1 step at a time right!
My New Year’s Resolution is to be more intentional in all that I do. Whether it’s my job, my family, or woodworking, I want my actions to mean something rather than just going through the motions. I believe this will make my activities more enjoyable and have better outcomes. Thank you for the video. Interestingly, one of the reason I was drawn to your channel is your name, Eigen. I’m a physicist and Eigen values are extremely important in topics like quantum mechanics. Just thought that was a cool name. Thanks again.
I like the intentionality you’re speaking of. Each year my wife and I sit down and talk about our goals (e.g. health goals, financial goals, marriage goals, etc.) so that we can have a target to head towards. Without that, you become a product of your day-to-day decisions, which may not ultimately take you to where you want to be. I hope you’re able to achieve this in 2024. Interesting enough, Eigen Designs comes from Eigen Values and Eigenvectors. I took linear algebra in college as part of my engineering degree and the name really resonated with me. You’re one of the few people to catch that 😊
@@EigenDesigns Absolutely. If you don’t plan where you are going it could be anywhere. Yes! Eigenvectors and values were a major topic in linear algebra. I actually enjoyed that class. Love seeing other scientists on here. Thank you for your work here. Much appreciated.
My New Years resolution is 40-52 UA-cam videos for 2024. I don't have a CNC but I thought I'd still participate. So make sure those bits go to someone who needs them. Great video as always. May the Force be with you.
I love the ambition Logan! Question for you sir, of the 40-52 videos, how many of those do you plan to be shorts vs full length videos? I haven't been creating many shorts, but I know some content creators are using them effectively to grow their audience.
@@EigenDesigns Good question. I have resolved to not doing any shorts at all. I put out a bunch in the first half of 2023 and they did nothing for my channel and debatably hurt my channel. My actually goal is a video every week but I fear that is not realistic. My 14 year old son is editing all of my simpler videos and I will be editing my larger project videos. Without him I couldn't do it. Last years focus was quality over quantity and that failed so this year it is quantity + value. We'll see how it goes. So far I think it is working. I'm also working on developing a tool that I think could be a hit. So stay tuned for that.
Nice video. Thanks for posting. Goal for 2024 is to build an enclosure for my cnc.
Great video. New Year’s resolution for me would be trying to be more productive in the shop and finding things that sell.
That's awesome Kevin! I hope you are productive and profitable in 2024 😃
@@EigenDesigns I hope you do as well. I really like the Millenium Falcon tray. Wish my cnc had a larger work area to do it justice
My new years resolution is to learn cnc more and build my woodworking business!
Congrats brother... My new year is gonna be make more stuff on the cnc and maybe wear it out lol😂.... Keep it up brother
I like that goal Dan! Keep cranking away at it bud. Thanks for your support.
Very interesting spoil board design!
Thanks John - I really appreciate the encouragement.
Thanks John. I hope you're able to achieve your goals in 2024.
This is my first video watching of yours. I like this type of straight forward video and content. I also like your projects. I will be watching more of your videos starting with your spoilboard video you have linked
My new years resolution is .....
1. Become a better woodworker/maker
2. Make more time with the family
I share these two goals as well. Thanks for the support Aaron. 😃
Hey Aaron - congratulations! You have been selected as the winner of the Whiteside CNC Bit Set giveaway. Can you please send an email to eigendesigns20@gmail.com so I can organize deliver details?
Great video. What are those hold down clamps called. I like them they're non evasive 😅
I'm trying to turn my hobby into a business this year. Need to buy tickets to see my kiddos in Germany!
Drawing for the bit and tools holder?
I’m waiting on my onefinity to show up, so my goal this year is to get familiar with all it can do and come up with some neat projects!
Just found your channel. Quality video that's also interesting. Loved the written commentary. My goal for this year is to go deeper in cad/cam and try to make some really unique things. Here's to a banner year for all. Cheers.
Thanks for the support. I hope you're able to make some unique projects in 2024.
Top notch, as always, Mark! I've learned a ton of CNC tips by watching. Already bought the MF plans off Etcy, just gotta get them exported from Fusion for my XCarve. Cheers and happy New Year!
You're always super supportive, JP. I hope 2024 is a great year for you!
My resolution is to get my first sale from something on my CNC. I’ve been making stuff for friends and family, so time to step up my goal!
My resolution is to level up a Fusion 360. Thank you for your works 👍
Great video, it teaches me a lot.
My resolution for 2024 is to start a small business with my low-end CNC so that I can buy better equipment and grow (while I study).
Excelente content. Thanks for sharing 🙏
My new years resolutions: become very comfortable with fusion 360 for CAM, get product into the hands of customers, and have an online store (not Etsy)
Thanks for the ideas. I'll see if you have fusion cam lessons. Cheers
One of my goals for 2024 is to start using my old CNC machine again (zenbot) and get into cinematography! If I have time, get out my Traxxas xmaxx!
Thanks for sharing.
My new years resolution is to create a short catchy company name.
Great Video. New Years resolution for 2024 is to do more wood projects.
Awesome goal Howie. I hope you're able to get to more woodworking projects in 2024.
My new years resolution is to learn all i can about the cnc world (and laser) and get my work room up and running.
I’m Sub’d… #5! Let 2024 be your year. Good luck brother!
@@EigenDesigns thank you! You're an inspiration!
What program are you using to generate those simulations? Thanks.
More use of my CNC for 2024. Love it
I like this goal, Al. I hope you're able to get more time on your CNC this year.
My new year resolution is the get my concern that I bought a year ago up and running and cut my first project. Want to try the falcon :)
2024 is your year Cato! I hope you're able to get some projects completed too!
@@EigenDesigns thanks :) Steppers are working but the limit switches are dead.
Beautiful work! I can't tell from the video but do you use stock that's been laminated together to try and prevent warping or are you using full width milled stock?
For 2024 i want to be as creative as you!!!! love your videos keep it up.
Thanks bud! I hope 2024 gives you the opportunity to express your creativity. All the best!
I am hoping to purchase a cnc machine this year. So that is my goal to start doing cnc wood carving.
Sorry if this has been asked in other videos, but I don't see any mention of the clamps/hold-down you're using on the CNC. What are they? please.
Unfortunately, yes. Sometimes we have to learn lessons the hard way 🤣
Very well done. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. I think you're going to make some serious progress in 2024.
I am retiring at the end of the year, so I am going to begin to prepare for my future woodworking business
That's the American Dream right there Mark. I hope your retirement is filled with rewarding projects in the shop.
How do you get around the copyright issue when making star war themed items?
Love the video! My goal for 2024 is to golf in 4 different states! Thanks for running the giveaway.
Great goal Caleb!
Thinking of improving on my Workbee cnc this year. Nice projects!
Thank you @graveurgraveur2691. I hope you're able to achieve this in 2024.
