    Adjust the outboard trim in when you are by yourself and back out when you have more people with you.

    They are fantastic boat trailers. We have had one for years and used it up north a lot. Still in A1 condition despite rough tracks and red dirt. We used to have a Little Bulldog but we had a heap of problems with that. Oh one thing, make sure to put little padlocks on the pins when using it at public boat ramps. Some people think it is funny to pinch the pins...

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Marc, I’ll be so nervous leaving it at boat ramps. It’s just too easy to steal. I may even just pack it back into the canopy if it’s a bit of a dodgy ramp.

      @@WildTouring We use a padlock on the safety chain to the 4x4 and small keyed alike locks on all the pins. Since we did that we haven't had a problem.

    Hi Cam, also make sure the motor trim angle is in the tucked under position. If the bow is then too low , bring trim angle out until its the way you like it. Cheers Cam. Love your work.

    Hey mate, a little tip for ya is raise your motor up a couple notches @8:35 it’s running parallel to the transom, you want to bring it up a bit so it’s basically square to the boat itself it that makes sense?

    Love the trailer have the exact same one, just finished using it up in Onslow. With your tinny mate, you might need to trim the engine up a hole or two by the look of it when you were flushing it out. You want the cav plate level with the bottom of your hull, will help it plane and cruise 👍

    If you use a long tiller extension arm you can sit forward on the front seat and control the boat. Keeps the weight balanced and rides well.

    Nice light little trailer! A few comments are telling you to adjust your trim, but you being a newby to boating are probably unsure of what this means. There will be a pin and a series of holes at the rear of where your motor mounts to the transom. Moving this pin changes the way in which the force of the propeller pushes the the rear of the boat. You will have to do some tests next time your on the water and find the sweet spot to suit on you own, then with passengers and then depending on your load and conditions. It will be most likely only 2-3 different pin locations and you adjust it to suit. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    Get yourself a tiller extension for when you're out on your own. It will allow you to use your own body weight, by moving forward, to balance the boat. You're going to have many hours of enjoyment from that setup you've now got!

    Great concept and well designed
    I wish I could do that with my boat lol
    When I had my tinny I used a tiller extension when on my own to get the weight forward especially when it’s too rough to plane and your in displacement mode trying to keep the nose down
    Can’t wait to see the whole process of getting it off the canopy and into the water
    Make sure you record your first catch even if it’s a blowy

    buy a set of "nauticus smart trim tabs" and put them on the boat around $200 aud , they will keep the front down, and get you on the plain quicker , also help keep you straight, in a following sea , most marine places have them ,not electircal , just spring powered they worked a treat on our boat ( plastic , no rust or galvanic corrosion)

    How long will it be before you get rid of the hand winch for a lil 12v winch. Cant imagine that being to fun after nurmerous times. Nifty trailer may have to search it out for the kayak.

    Looks excellent mate. About the only thing that would annoy me is having to carry a second hitch for the boat trailer. I think I’d chuck a do35 hitch (or whatever you use) on the boat trailer too.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I agree! Just cringe at the thought of paying $500 for one though! I bought an aluminium hitch that I thought would be a good compromise (a lot lighter than the steel alternative), but the bloody thing doesn’t fit!

    Don’t you regret getting a bigger car or a truck so you can live it and take a bigger boat.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  3 роки тому +1

      Nah not at all. It’s all a compromise, but I can work within my weight limits and still have all the comforts/toys I need. I get great economy, sit on the speed limit everywhere I go, can fit down most tracks and self recover if I get stuck.
      Also never been a fan of touring in something that has to be packed up whenever I want to go for a drive.
