Thank you! I replaced the battery on my Samsung T580 for £19 using your video and links. Your very honest, step by step and down to earth video made it easy to follow and trust - plus the links to what replacement battery to get were invaluable. So satisfying to get it working again, save money and waste!
Thank you, I was able to repair my wife's 2016 tablet using your video which made it a very simple process. She loves her tablet and does not want a new one. Cost me $19.
Just followed this exactly. Cost £25.56 in total after p&p and arrived with the same tools you have there. Video instructions worked perfectly, thanks a million.
I've had this problem with the flickering charging icon when the battery level drops right down. The fix I use is as follows.. • Press the down volume, home button and power button all at the same time. • It should bring up a screen for installing an OS, at this point connect some power. • Press down volume to cancel and to restart the phone, it should then start charging.
Thank you very much! Werner
So I have exactly the same tablet you had in the tutorial. I hadn't used it in like 2 years, but needed it because another cheap generic tablet was annoying me. Anyway mine was behaving exactly the same way the battery symbol jittering. I fortunately had all the good tools for taking these things apart. Ordered my battery from Amazon (so I could return it if it didn't cure the problem), then did exactly what you advised me to do. It started working and charging so i completed it all, even those nasty little connector crimps (real scary). Now my tablet is working perfectly and charges to 100%. Thank you so much for this video.
Thank you for the video! I just repaired my Samsung SM-T580 using your instructions. Thanks also for the link to order the battery! It was extremely helpful! The tablet works again and I'm happy!😊
Thankyou so much I did what you said in the video you've just saved me from buying a brand new tablet all I needed to do was unplug the battery and leave it a minute then plugged it back tested with my charger and all is good again 😀
I had the flickering screen with the battery icon First, you must use SAMSUNG cable and charging block. Aftermarket cables don't pull enough power to charge up a zeroed out tablet. Plug directly into wall outlet -- don't use a powerstrip. Now, place tablet facedown on a flat surface, rubbing & pushing down-- like you're giving it a back massage. Really. I know that sounds weird. Plug into wall socket. My tablet starting charging up, albeit slowly. It's a 2016 model, so I can't find a replacement battery. Good luck everyone.
OMG, this worked! I plugged in it and used my Samsung "super fast" official charger and put it face down and gave it a little massage and then flipped it over and it showed 1% and charging! THANK YOU!
Thanks so much for this howto! Just revived my SM-T 585. Glad I could contribute to a greener world where we prolong the life of our devices, instead of just accepting 'scheduled obsolescence'. Thx for making this possible for me!
Not sure but my tablet was doing the flash on then off while trying to charge with no charging...now its flashing thr samsung title im so confused on whats happenin
Your old battery was probably still fine. It got fully discharged and then the charging circuit got stuck and assumed that the battery is dead. It's too bad that you didn't plug in the old battery back up after testing the new battery. Maybe just that was enough to get it to start charging the old battery. Also, someone people inject voltage straight into the ribbon with an adjustable power supply. Charge it just for a minute or two and then plug in the battery ribbon into the tablet. The system started charging the old battery once again ($40 saved on a new battery).
Well will see Lee seeing your troubles as you are pulling this apart I decided to do the same thing abracadabra. I got the confidence to go through with it. And i did it !Thanks for that
Bro at first i thought the battery was dead too! But i accidently find the way to SOLVED IT! Charged for 15mnt. Plug out the charger. Let the tab off Hold the power button and volume up for 30 seconds (if it isn't showup anything, plug in the charger) It will show up your tab name and going to recovery mode Wait till show up recovery mode menu Click reboot by click power button I accidently found this way and it worked perfectly!
Maybe the hardware just went bananas,,,the same battery you removed might still be good,,I just fixed a Lenovo tablet that had almost the same problem as yours by pulling the battery cable out then putting it back...
You're not going to believe this, but my tablet wouldn't charge either (since yesterday), so I've been looking up tutorials to fix it which is how I got here. I have it plugged in with the no battery grey circle and just joking around I said "hocus pocus dokus locus" like you did and tapped the corners. And it freaking started charging!! It's now 2% and I'm losing it 😂😂😂. However you make your magic spells, keep it up! They work 😆
Get your hands on a super fast charger! I've got a tablet that's sat for nearly 2 years. Did the same thing then as it did tonight.. then I used a super fast charger.. no flickering screen. Just the battery with the lightning bolt.. hold the POWER, volume DOWN, HOME BUTTON together until you see a blue screen instructing you to use the volume buttons to select 2 options.. press volume DOWN to select continue.. then tank me later. Tablet Will reboot and charge. Thank me later.
Thank you for the detailed explanation. I was about to discard the tablet but will be trying a new battery. Local cost ex a battery supplier is Aud30. The problem I had was exactly as you had described it.

Ty so much for this! My tablet was stuck on the battergy charge screen and didn't change at all- I guess the battery was completely depleted but I tapped the corners and it's now saying the charging percentage lol
I have Samsung S7 plus SM -T975 model 1.5 year old. Not getting charged via Samsung charger. Can see charging bolt ring when connected a data cable with power bank but its not getting charged just the icon is displayed. Please comment what can be the problem. Thanks in advance.
I have a Samsung tablet SM T217S that I found in the trash. The screen has cracked all over. When I plug the charger in the screen starts flicking I think I know what's the problem it could be the strip cord connector lose or it's the battery.
Same issue, it would not charge from a power brick, I connected it to benchtop power supply and set the voltage to 5.7 volts. I watched this video then noticed that it moved past the error and the proper charging icon came on. It is just charging slowly now.
Worse Idea ever. Just tried fixing my wife's tablet, and I broke the fuc*ing screen. Awesome, and on top of that, got glass in my eye. U better wear safety glasses if u take your own tablet apart.
