Absolutely correct. We're now told (in certain U.S. states) that we cannot have classroom libraries because it will offend certain groups. The days of learning exploration are over. Unless it fits the "approved curriculum", it's out! Mass-stupidity is easier to govern than critical thinkers.

It's a slippery slope because it's a form of censorship on art. Like how critical race theory (black history) is being banned. Censorship on history and expression is a dangerous thing for future generations. It's a huge, huge problem that ppl dismiss because feelings.

The root causes of obesity are the same root causes behind every problem regardless of strength or size. Its a mental problem related to physical problems. Everyone needs better education, more awareness, better organization, focus, healthier diet, and better sleep. In order to lose or gain weight you need to believe you can so having faith is important too. Problem with removing any kind of shaming is that it lowers the chance of being made to feel uncomfortable enough TO change. Pain stirs us into action. Shame causes us to reflect. I see cancel culture as a bad parent that enables their child to live irresponsibly until that child is 30+ years old and still living without direction. Many bad parents think they’re doing something good or out of love but they dont know that what they’re doing is actually horrible- and so cancel culture is tone death and stupid but thats no surprise because many people really are that way.

Especially when it's from ostensibly successful public figures punching down on everyday people Again, I don't agree with them, but they're struggling in their struggles. This attitude isn't helpful, it's just from individuals who can't relate and they're annoyed about things changing around them. If the intent of this video was to help anyone, it misses the mark. There are much more helpful methods of communicating influence to people who are listening to you, and maybe even looking up to you. Pretty cool of you to dismiss my 13 years of education because you didn’t like my point of view in this one video. Very accepting of you. Growing up my school used to tea h us the word fat was related to unhealthy. Was never used to apply any looks or physical aspect of anyone. We Growing up learing not to be fat si we could live longer and better lives and not being fat would help us to achieve great life. Seems that concept lost these days.
Seeing a lot of opinions like this. This was a decision the estates made for financial reasons. It wasn’t forced upon them my society. They looked at some of the language in the books (which should 100% be left unedited) and decided new language would make it more appealing. It’s not the woke mob or whatever. It’s the same as Gillette a few years, rich people trying to maximise profits. Put your outrage towards the actual culprits.
I understand that people can be offended by some old books, for good reasons or not, but those books give a representation of how the mentality was at this period of time and that's what I find interesting. Rewriting books like that is kind of trying to rewrite history, by doing it we can't see how the society has evolved from there.

I'm glad I'm a healthy guy right now because I was little chubby like in a slim side that wasn't being overweight and I used to be skinny like a stick that I was underweight of skin and bones. Now, I'm eating right, barely, and I don't eat treats or soda that often because I'm better off as a fit, healthy, and having muscle in my life to live in a better lifestyle. Absolutely correct. We're now told (in certain U.S. states) that we cannot have classroom libraries because it will offend certain groups. The days of learning exploration are over. Unless it fits the "approved curriculum", it's out! Mass-stupidity is easier to govern than critical thinkers.
Scott is on a roll! Good times create weak men. Eventually we will run into hard times and strong men will prosper once again
We rolling man!
Yeah that little fascist talking point isn't gonna suddenly result in more right wing men at the rate things are going.
The way you seem to talk about them, "strong men" are bigoted men who don't care about how anyone feels about anything - let alone themselves.
@@DAsrada fascist talking point? Are you for real? This is a fact of biology, that good times create weak men, so what exactly do you hope to accomplish with this tired old insult?
@@connernickerson5509 No, it's not. You don't just get to add stuff to biology. The point you made is bandied around by people who hope to induce a "difficult time" to bring about what they think strong men are.
ok dork
I couldn't agree more 💯💯💯
I do think there are types of literature that have aged poorly in today day, but I think it needs to be left untouched to showcase and understand how much we have changed.
We live in a world where opening the mouth and saying anything will be a crime and punishable offence.
It's a slippery slope because it's a form of censorship on art. Like how critical race theory (black history) is being banned. Censorship on history and expression is a dangerous thing for future generations. It's a huge, huge problem that ppl dismiss because feelings.
So because when you were in school teachers didn’t “point out” to not call people fat, because well it’s none of your business if they are, It’s okay to still call people fat even though it’s still none of your business? This didn’t sound too much like a political video at first but according to all the people mad at “woke” (which are the only ones that use it most) this isn’t what I subscribed for. It’s weird the aggression because you basically can’t call ppl fat anymore. Y’all need pick a better topic to be in uproar about.
Woke this woke that I'm so damn tired of all the whining. Every time some inconsequential thing barely changes, it's suddenly the end of the world. Aren't we bored of this braindead outrage porn?
Agree leave books and shows alone. They were once loved why do we need to change them. They also keep cutting more episodes from shows I like because there are some "offensive" things in there. Grow up people, if you don't like it or find it offensive don't watch or read it, just do something else.
Oh no, people can do wrong in 2023. If you criticize the craziness and evil they are hurling at us, then you are bad and must be "corrected".
5:46 it’s not a big deal, I don’t care and I am not changing anything to begin with. Is other people.
But I see where you’re coming from. This is just ridiculous.
FYI, I'm a liberal. FYI, Millions of us liberals agree with how stupid and enabling this crap has gotten. Where is it going to stop?
Scott, you are right on! Parents are to blame. Kids are sitting on their ass not getting any exercise and eating junk. I see it everyday. People don't take responsibility on their selfs, it's always someone else's fault. As far as changing books that we grew up with, why? Just deal with it!
The world is absolutely fucked and it hasn't slowed down going down this path. I just read that a trans woman who went to prison, raped and impregnated other women in the prison.....sigh
It's Orwell's 1984 newspeak!!! "Newspeak is a controlled language of simplified grammar and restricted vocabulary designed to limit the individual's ability to think and articulate "subversive" concepts such as personal identity, self-expression, and free will."
P.S. How's Bello? :)
its so weird how much yall care lmao
It takes pressure to make a diamond.
Exactly!
People have nothing better to do with there time
The world is falling apart at the seams or being pulled apart by some and yet people cry of an adjective or a pronoun
You make me miss living in New England lol man what's going on in the world today. They gonna redo every single damn book?
Just another story that shows we are now living in umpalumpa land or looney toon land man people are going crazy is ridiculous
People who have the original books should hold on to them because they'll be worth something in the future.
Maybe!
Several years in prison at worst 😂
u seem like an honest man Scott
i wish allah will guide you to islam
cause it's the perfect cure for all this bullshitty stuff
Love it if I had any candy as a kid it was a privileged it was 3 healthy meals a day and playtime outside. And I getting fit and ripped now I rep 140lb on the curl bar. Love the rant.
Yeah man, moderation right? That’s why they’re called treats as well! Keep the gains coming man!
@ScottHermanFitness yup I thought my glory days were over but I'm back at it at the age of 39
This gives me old man yelling at cloud vibes 😝
I agree with your rant though.
People are WAY too sensitive these days and need to loosen the eff up.
Why is he always shouting like that…? It’s extremely unpleasant to the listener’s ear…
Yes it is crazy world when they ban words that make people feel bad but don't ban the crap food that causes the problem
Roald Dahl wrote some great books...hope this publicity gets them some more attention at least
Wish I could give more than 1 like.
Appreciate that man! All the likes haha!
You're watching too much Fox News, bro
You speak the truth man
Thanks bro!
Keep it up Scott
Thanks man! Sure will!
I concur, Scott. I don't care whatever I am called. Chances are whatever I am, I am more critical of myself than what anyone else thinks. 😌
your first mistake is that you actually on Twitter. The second mistake was thinking that sanity would prevail.
LOL! I only started using twitter about 2 years ago because it is the place to be for CRYPTO. I built a game - www.wagmigame.io
"politically correct" aka "woke" is generally a very good thing. Removing "fat" from a book is utter fucking nonsense.
It feels a lot like people are making ridiculous shit up like this to make actual issues people are fighting for look worse, since they get lumped in with this sort of crap.
Omg kids don’t even read Willy Wonka, get over it.
Gender neutral Oompa Loompas?
Give me a break! 😂
Based.
Ugh. I thought schools banning books was bad enough.
I had “skinny privilege”growing up, when my family was rationing food.
When I was 12 I was a chubby kid. My aunt came to visit us one summer and kept on making fun of me being chubby. I hated it, it hurt me and pissed me off. After she left I started running all summer long, and became "normal". Ever since then I always watched my weight and excercised. Thank you auntie for making fun of me as a fat kid.
Much respect Scott but lately you look for things to get angry about…
You can look this up yourself…
in-fact most of your comment section should too but…
Obese is latin for eat away.
As someone who has studied health you know not everyone eats their way into a weight problem.
Fat is middle english for cram or load.
A more MODERN and accurate way to describe this health issue is the;
patient-friendly term such as “weight,” “BMI,” “weight problem,” or excess weight.”
C&CF was written in the 1960s. Your a fitness expert in 2023.
Stop getting angry and read your health sciences text books. You’ll be surprised how many new words you’ll learn
lol.. my friend. The issue is I am NOT looking for any of this. But it has gotten so bad it is everywhere.
It's time to stand up before there is no going back. It's called having a backbone. I teach health and fitness. I am not for surgar coating BS.
@@ScottHermanFitness
Scott I appreciate you taking the time to respond and btw Im a long time fan.
When you say standup before its to late, and not sugarcoat. What does that mean to you?
Health issues will exist as long as there are human beings.
But we change and languages change.
Im a health care professional, and in my profession what used to be common practice and common language has changed with more science and information.
What I don’t do is use slang and expressions when talking to patients because its unprofessional and UNDERMINES the complexities of their health with opinion.
You address their health with the most ACCURATE TERMS, and if the terms and definitions change, then as a professional you should adjust.
Its 2023 and we all have weak points.
Im a workaholic and need to focus on my physical health which is why Im a subscriber.
I know with all that muscle and heart you have the strength in you to be even more compassionate.
Get a second wind in your life and grow to be a better man in 2023 and be even more successful.
@@anthonydef3000 , Charlie & The chocolate factory is not about health issues. It is a childrens book where seven characters represent each of the seven sins. Augustus Gloop is gluttony. Gluittony is gluttony regardless of science and information.
@@lokeaashamar8943 then lets not discuss that here
I'm a pretty liberal person, but I'm anything but a snowflake. That said I don't agree with these movements trying to bumper bowl people through adversities in life, but the right-hinged reaction to it is insufferable. Especially when it's from ostensibly successful public figures punching down on everyday people
Again, I don't agree with them, but they're struggling in their struggles. This attitude isn't helpful, it's just from individuals who can't relate and they're annoyed about things changing around them. If the intent of this video was to help anyone, it misses the mark. There are much more helpful methods of communicating influence to people who are listening to you, and maybe even looking up to you. This rant was gross and totally "bro"
Thank you for all the workout assistance over the past couple years Scott Herman. I think I've gotten all the help from you I can up to this point. In an ocean of health influencers there are plenty of others I can consume, who don't comport themselves like this
Unsubscribing
I don’t think you judging me on the way I think and speak and punching down on me because I don’t have the same outlook on life as you is very nice.
See how this works?
And I wasnt a “successful public figure” when I started holding myself accountable for my actions and learned how to be a hard worker.
We live in an out of control world where there is an excuse for everything.
Sorry you feel that way. Pretty cool of you to dismiss my 13 years of education because you didn’t like my point of view in this one video.
Very accepting of you.
Also, this has nothing to do with politics so I dont understand the need to bring it up.
This is the future health of our children and they are getting fatter by the second.
At least I am TRYING to do something about it. 👍
Scott "based lifter man" Hermann
Well said Scott! Spot on...
Thanks man!
@ScottHermanFitness it's true! Just like when you called out How to Beast for going on TRT because he was waking up "And feeling more tired"......it had to be said! You should do more of these types of videos I reckon.
The problem is no one in this age want to take responsability on there own life. So imagine about taking responsability about your own child. "
The government gonna do is job so I don't need to teach my kid"
Growing up my school used to tea h us the word fat was related to unhealthy. Was never used to apply any looks or physical aspect of anyone. We Growing up learing not to be fat si we could live longer and better lives and not being fat would help us to achieve great life. Seems that concept lost these days.
Why don’t you make fitness vlogs anymore?
just havent been doing much besides training and building my mobile game www.wagmigame.io
Rare Scott Herman W, would be interesting on Fresh and Fit (Brandon Carter type W)
No it wouldn't. Scott has already given his take on "alpha male" clowns, and it's not favorable.

one thing is for sure,
*aUGuSTuS GLooP*
would
*BReaK iT* 👍😁
Seeing a lot of opinions like this.
I enjoy the more condid/opinion videos occasionally, thanks Scott!
I understand that people can be offended by some old books, for good reasons or not, but those books give a representation of how the mentality was at this period of time and that's what I find interesting.
Rewriting books like that is kind of trying to rewrite history, by doing it we can't see how the society has evolved from there.
Well said! Rewriting history.. and not for the better..
Roald Dahl is from my neighbouring town
Oh that’s cool!
Thanks for the rant man. Stupidity just reached 'God-Tier' because of such over-sensitive people promoting 'Health at any size' 🤦♂️ I mean, what's the point of body-positivity if we're not gonna live very long. Absolute Hypocrisy!
You are so true
Nothing but facts!
In México for example the word every kid hates is "weak" or if somebody call the kids "debilucho" the other word which everybody dislike was being called "butter, fatball, greasy" all those words are really offensive it doesn't matter the age a part of kids imagination tent to see everything ugliest than it is talking about their own physical structure, obviously imagine August in chocolate factory movie everybody is maybe imagine is like that boy or like tronchatoro at the other movie, they never think about their own body dimensions, in México for example the kids used to think they were never grow up & is the word we hate the most "enano or chaparro" or even worst "tapón de alberca" suddenly everybody study something about medicine or sports & during the practices we discovered that the ancient & old adults society were evil with children thats the reason they implant bad experiencies using awful adjectives to manipulate kid's minds & forced them to believe that they're something but not SOMEBODY. Thanks for your video was good it helped me to go back the gym.
Love this rant true though
8:43 you think you’re 5 or a 6 ??? If that’s true imma 3😂. No bro you’re a Chad very symmetrical face .if you were single you wouldn’t have any problems pulling .been watching you for years great content as always 💪🏾.
Agreed on many of your points. Overall well said.
I just thought of this, while watching your video, that if you were to be the 'offended' type maybe you would also be wanting to change your last name because you are man whose last name is "HER-man" and you don't want to be thought of as a she with your 'beastly' body you've worked so hard on. But, you are not that type so you embrace your name, as you should. More power to ya.
This is so true and I absolutely totally agree with you. Tired of this cancel snowflake world we start to live in. Everything you said is on point... so I smashed the like button!
Coming from a former fat kid who was 250 pounds at 17, i hated the way i looked and luckily was never out right called fat or bullied but i bullied myself for the way i looked and got in the gym and lost 100 pounds. I cant stand this obese positivity bs. Make a change for your health and stop listening to enablers
I'm still reaching my goal weight and figuring out what body type that will represent myself of who I want to look like.
Enormous sounds worse to me than fat. As someone with a BMI of 29-30 odd, is someone calls me fat, it's like 'yeah' of someone called me enormous. I'd like like hey 'duck you bro'
