I have always loved this hobby so much. I’m 44 and now race the Kyosho MP10Ki2 and it’s like driving butter, if that makes any sense. Back in the late 80’s, and early 90’s was always amazing racing cars, wether it’s a dirt track or a parking lot. The biggest problem I see now “as a parent” is the kids these days have no interest in hobbies like this anymore, except for using their phone, which I discourage and limit them. Most people these days are stuck on their phones playing video games. I may be living in the past from a few of the people on here but that’s when we had the most fun and it was educational, and it also taught us to turn a wrench per-say. I will do everything in my power to keep this hobby alive and this channel is “in my opinion “ hands down the best channel I’ve seen to support the hobby. The tuning videos are absolutely amazing, because most people at your level won’t talk, and or help the newbie’s, which is a shame. Keep up the amazing channel!

Hello JQ, I used to practice RC racing car a lot in the nineties, when I was a teenager. Up to national championship in 1/10 electric offroad, in France. Then I stopped before beginnig college. And then I became a mechanical engineer. I owe a lot to RC car for my intuitive knowledge of mecanics.
But at that time, I had a terrible lack of theoretical knowledge for the setup of RC. What you have done is really great.

I do enjoy your growing guitar collection.
Having that said - me and the kid are getting back into rc racing on a tiny club level. Nobody there gives a fuck about any org and just wants to have fun. Maybe that should be it.

I believe that is time to start thinking this hobby as a motorsport. I strongly believe that is more like a sport with all the practice and the competition than just a hobby. Of course you can enjoy bashing.
I think promoting as a sport will completely change the way people see it. And it is much easier to organize events along other (1/1) race events. But fundamentaly it will change the way people see it and possibly will bring more people to this hobby/sport.

Im 100% with you... But they dont do it because its you talking... because if they do change they feel that they will be giving you something and thats why they more concern with them selfs then with RC and RC community

I have working as a professional change consultant for the last 15 years and from my experience I 100% agree with your thoughts about change in organisations. And yet it is up to us to promote that change bottom up. Everyone can contribute a little and the bigger organisations will follow sooner or later… but the effort towards the tipping point to move things on a larger scale has to come from us by doing things instead of discussing them… Thanks JQ for spreading the message and your efforts!

Thank you. I needed hearing this not only regarding the topic of this video. 😊

Thank you for your thoughts! Agree with most of them, but your main goal is what I really appreciate: make the RC better and reach more people!

EFRA reminds me of a time I worked for a charity. The staff were kind, well-meaning, committed and enthusiastic… amateurs. Everyone had an opinion and the most articulate tended to win the day, even though their ideas only worked inside their own heads, and more committees and working-parties than you could shake a shitty stick at. Result: piss-poor, amateurish output that took 10 times as long as it should’ve done. I went home after each day frustrated & irritable at the sheer impossibility of ever getting anything done. Stuck it for 6 months, left and went back to the commercial sector - the real world. I hope somebody gets a grip of EFRA whilst there’s still something left to fix.

F*uck EFRA I'm over it, it's not fixable. We need a new model. Let EFRA stick to amateur hobby, let's have something new and different for pro racing.

They really need to open their eyes... and Only the "Big Brands" in RC have the power to "talk" to them in a way that they will listen

Unfortunately its unavoidable in virtually all organisations. Better managed meetings can improve things for sure. However, the one or two people making the changes does not work in established organisations. Even the idea to raising more money - that point has to be agreed to by EFRA. So how would you change things? Not what you would change but how.
Thinking about your point about money - maybe if they took more money they could fund tracks/ clubs to try out and prove the new ideas.
Finally - that was a looooong 15 mins.

what you say is 💯 facts, also these race events really need to be marketed like a simple radio add or flyers anything to get the word out. I also believe having spectators at these events will not only create massive revenue but will help bring the next generation of racers. Every event that is streamed i watch and always the stands are empty, it breaks my heart to see that. Keep up the excellent work you do 👊

We dont have a product that people would enjoy watching. They would have no idea whats going on.

Virtual world now for lots of people... 🎮🕹️📺📲...
And RC is in the "real" world, you have to spend time, money, etc... to practice this hobby...😉‼️
It's more simple to stay in your seat, playing with your phone than to work/to set your RC car, to take your car and to drive to the track, to have fun with your RC car..., and to return to home, to wash your material, etc... People don't want to shake their bodies for something else than their jobs now...
They spend the little free-time they have to stay home with their family and... their phone...
The world has changed, it's not just for RC this "problem"... 💯🔥🏁🏎️🤓🇨🇵

I would love to see governing bodies speaking to large events and supporting clubs in running events at them. I dont have the time to hunt events, contact promoters etc but running in a closed building does not bring the hobby to new people.
