So DJI, I have a question, for the Phantom 4 will you do the same as you recently did for the owners of the Phantom 2? Issue a Range Extender update that breaks the video connection. Then keep silent for a few weeks, hereafter don't take responsibility even hundred of customers now have broken drones? Then when the customers ask for you to repair it you, you send a mail back to them saying case closed because warranty is out - even it you own software who broke it.
Is that the service that awaiting us if we buy a DJI 4 - just curious?

How ironic. I literally got deliver of a phantom 3 advanced TODAY.
+DP ie If you ordered the Advanced, then clearly you're not worried about 4K, also from what I saw in another video, the tracking system easily loses what it's tracking so is more of a gimmick than something that's a huge bonus. So apart from the collision avoidance (which only works when going forward) and slightly longer flight time, there isn't much that would justify the huge price difference between the P3A and P4.

One thing I had wished they would incorporate was the "Here I am" feature. This feature would automatically start when there was a fly-away. If the Phantom would get lost and fly away it would automatically deploy a homing beacon. The controller would switch to map view and show the pilot where the drone landed.
Casey flew it and it didn't crash, so anyone can fly it :D

active tracking needs a bit of improvement..... well a lot of improvements because the active track is easy to lose track of you. the follow me feature in the Phantom 3 follows a signal so it's extremely difficult for the Phantom 3 to lose you.
+Eric White yea, every demo they've made public has been a complete failure as far as the active track. definitely useless as of now. however, i have been impressed with dji's updates in the past. hell, the p3 didn't have any autonomous modes (waypoint, tracking, circle the subject) when it came out, but when that software came out they did impress me, and it didn't cost me a penny. i expect the same here - the p4 will suck for a year.
Well I will wait for 1 year before I consider buying it. I don't want the sick phantom 4 I want the really cool phantom 4. Lol

I'm sure you remember that, it happened like 1 year ago. What happened in Sweden is the same that is happening in Germany now, but yeah until you don't have the problem right inside your country, you don't really spot it, and even sometimes even having it right there, it takes so much time for people to react. Obstacle avoidance is not my main issue flying straight forward. It's when I am flying side to side trying to get a tracking shot. Wish it had cameras on the side too. Don't know how many trees I have clipped tracking side to side. lol

Last year I commented that I would hold off buying a quadcopter until 2016. I think I made the right choice.

I still see things like the propeller coming out in shots. I think this should be taken care before any other real advancments can be made. Like get the basics out of the way. If the propeller or landing gear come out, that would mean more work in post if even possible to remove. All those things should be able to be addressed by the way a unit is designed.

It can only avoid obstacles in the view directly in front of it like 90 degrees I think so anything out of that it will run straight into like a robot

Try learning to fly an original rc helicopter before gyro stabilization in a cheep package was a thing, one of the hardest things I've ever learned, and I was still never that good. Just hovering was a massive challenge!
I had one of those when I was about 7 or 8.. It had a huge battery (size wise) but only lasted like 30 minutes. I live in a city but the woods are really close, we would drive 10 minutes and fly it there. I think I was too young to effectively fly it but I can't really remember. Even my father had some issues.

Excellent vid and looking to upgrade from my P2. I'm torn between a P3Pro and a P4 but I'm also interested in the Typhoon H. All close in price point, any suggestions? I'm actually not super worried about object avoidance but I like the active track for sure.
I feel that even though this can fly itself its still best to learn the basics of flying otherwise if the sensors die on you and you dont know how to fly thats bad news!!

A racing quad will never has this it would be like putting braking sensors on a f1 car they're designed for racing. But this quad does go pretty fast if your not looking to race

I'll stick with my new phantom 3 pro, I could still return it. I will get the phantom 5.

+Matt Dorris You're better off getting the P3 than the P4. Much better value per dollar and it's on sale on some reputable web sites for around $899 though no telling how long that will last.
The obstacle avoidance feature did not prevent Neistat from flying a Phantom 4 into a docked boat on his VLOG today, so obviously the technology is not fool proof.
