My male ball is about 20 years old and I’ve NEVER used a humidity box for him. I saw this video and got really excited to try it but didn’t think he’d really “figure it out”. After 3 days he finally did and hopefully this cures all his inconsistent sheds. I’m super excited! Thanks for the genius idea! 😁
so i’ve had my ball python for almost 2 years and i’ve struggled with sheds the whole time. a week ago i put a humidify box in his enclosure (inspired by this channel) and he just had his first full shed!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks again for the tip. I got my first Ball Python 4 days ago and he was having a problem shedding. I made a humidity box and he shed immediately. Cheers.
Emily, I watched this video last week for the first time. My BP was in blue and her first and only shed with me was a mess...pieces everywhere. It "exploded". So I followed your video and made her a humidity box that same day and this morning I walked in to check on her --- and we had a perfect shed in one piece. From her eye caps to the tip of her tail!!!! I've been working so hard to keep the humidity up in the ENTIRE tank and your video helped remove so much stress from me...because I was failing. To have this perfect shed was so exciting. Thank you for all your great videos, excellent content, amazing information...and educating ME and so many others in such a fun, no nonsense, and relative way. I SO appreciate you and Ed!

Thanks for the help...and the good wishes regarding the mites. I hope they're gone too. I should be able to move her back to the 50/50 mix by the end of January.
That's a good question. This is what I've decided to do. I use an opaque pencil box for Elmo, my hognose snake, because he's shy. I keep it in his enclosure all the time, but I don't keep the box humid all the time. When I went to feed him about a week ago, he was inside it, so I removed the whole box so I could tong-feed him. I took video of the feeding, which enabled me to see his belly was slightly opaque. If you have a hoggie that isn't albino, the dark belly is the first place that starts to get blue. I waited a couple of days and looked again to verify and yes, he's in shed. I've misted the moss twice now to keep things humid. Once Elmo has shed, I plan to remove all the moss, clean and disinfect the humidity box (Nolvasan solution), put dry moss inside and wait for the next shed. That seems reasonable to me.
I just want to thank you for this video. I just got a milk snake and was having issues with its first shed. I followed what you said to do and within an hour, it shed the rest of its skin perfectly. So again thank you for the video. It helped a ton

Hi, first off, thank you for your video!! I got my first banana ball a week ago and it’s an amazing snake!! I have watched almost all of your videos! So thank you!! I came home today and my boy’s eyes are milky!! So it’s going to be my first shed!! Should I put the humidity box on the heat pad? Or next to it?? I have him in a 20 gallon tank. I appreciate the reply if you have time!! Again, thank you for the videos!!
Any advice for using wet paper towel?
and how often do you replace the old moss (or paper towel for that matter)?
Will this work for leopard geckos as well?
how warm does the humidity box need to be? and how long should they be in there?
Should you use these for corn snakes
I love your video so educational
What size containers are those that you are using on the racks?
What kind of Moss do you use? Do I have to buy it in the pet store?
I think my ball has stuck eye caps. When i got him he had wrinkled eyes and has shed twice with me and it looked like he had the eye caps on the shed but his eyes are still wrinkled so im thinking he has layers stuck. Would this work for that?
I am going to try this with my corn snake. Thank you
