I think it took 5 tries for me to finish the movie (I was on a long 14 hour flight). To this day, I'm still not sure what happened in BvS. When it came on tv, I usually slept through it. Dude BvS kept me on my edge the entire time, I fucking adore that movie with every part of my heart. I love those slow burn movies, they fascinate me. I’ve watched the Ultimate Edition over like 10 times and it’s 2 hours 56 minutes and 36 seconds before the credits kick in and I love it.
I've watched a ridiculous amount of horror movies, things that Netflix would never even look at. Let's Be Evil was an absolute snooze, but compared to the abominations I've seen, it was almost decent. The worst movie I've ever watched is Future World - City Of Mass Destruction. I have never suffered more than when I watched that movie. It took me over a year to even finish watching. I doubt there is a movie more agonising to experience than Future World. It grated my very soul. It's been years since I saw it and I still feel tainted. I will never be whole again.
To be fair I rewatched OP a couple of years ago and it really is slow, episodes are like 20 minutes of 5 minutes of actual content. I really didn't notice watching it as a kid.

During Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" there was a dialogue sequence that took place on a Ferry from one end of the river to the other; does anyone remember why that scene was so engaging and interesting? It was specifically because of the directorial decision to have a boring dialogue sequence take place on a moving boat. The entire conversation was one giant long take that began at the beginning of the ferry, all the way to the other side of the river; because of this the background, and therefore the visuals, were constantly changing and keeping the scene feeling visually fresh and engaging. Because this was happening during an exposition sequence, the dialogue scene came off as fresh and engaging as well. This seems to be the problem with "Let's Be Evil": it's visually stagnate and uninteresting, but not just the visuals; but the story, characters, themes, message, and plot - as well.

First Terminator movie did this as well. Kyle Reese explains all the sci-fi stuff about the future wars with the machines to Sarah Connor while being shot at by a Terminator in a car chase. The urgency of the danger in the scene lends urgency to the danger being warned about in the exposition, and stops it feeling out of place or dumped on the viewer.
All of the Howling sequels were complete fucking garbage. Even the first one wasn't that great but it was a masterpiece compared to everything that came after it.
I saw the Howling IV recently and I was actually convinced there would be no werewolves at all. But seeing all the cool effects at the end made me hate the movie way more because it had the means to be a dumb fun werewolf film and they just didn't do anything with it until the last five minutes.

That happened to me with The Lord's of Salem. I was watching it with my mom (I was in Highschool at the time) and every 20 minutes, I'd just fall asleep. And so did she. It literally took us 3 days to watch the full movie because we'd fall asleep, then try to pick it up the next day from the last thing we remembered, but then we'd fall asleep again. As a fan of House of 1000 Corpses, I was incredibly disappointed with that movie and confused how it could have been produced by the same man.
This is actually a genius movie because the real horror is realizing you`ve aged 20 years in a mere 1h 23min Edit: I have grown a beard while he just recapped the plot
Entertainment has 4 thresholds: 1: it's excellent. Either a masterpiece or close to one. 2: So bad it's good. Has many, many flaws that flip expectations of the intended in the opposite direction so far it becomes good again. 3: Standard. Competent in almost every right but just didn't quite hit the mark. Most of these become cult classics. 4: Bland. Not terrible enough to reach criteria 2 but not good enough to reach criteria 3. Universally disliked by all sentient creatures.

You have to watch "Who Killed Captain Alex?". Its one of the purest, most wholesome movie stories in history, and the movie is beyond hilarious.
I love that movie. What you described and seeing the footage of the community getting together to make the movie made it an example of a passion project done right. Even the fact that the director never intended for world wide audiences to see it.

During Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" there was a dialogue sequence that took place on a Ferry from one end of the river to the other; does anyone remember why that scene was so engaging and interesting? It was specifically because of the directorial decision to have a boring dialogue sequence take place on a moving boat. The entire conversation was one giant long take that began at the beginning of the ferry, all the way to the other side of the river; because of this the background, and therefore the visuals, were constantly changing and keeping the scene feeling visually fresh and engaging. Because this was happening during an exposition sequence, the dialogue scene came off as fresh and engaging as well.
This seems to be the problem with "Let's Be Evil": it's visually stagnate and uninteresting, but not just the visuals; but the story, characters, themes, message, and plot - as well.

First Terminator movie did this as well. Kyle Reese explains all the sci-fi stuff about the future wars with the machines to Sarah Connor while being shot at by a Terminator in a car chase. The urgency of the danger in the scene lends urgency to the danger being warned about in the exposition, and stops it feeling out of place or dumped on the viewer.

All of the Howling sequels were complete fucking garbage. Even the first one wasn't that great but it was a masterpiece compared to everything that came after it.

I saw the Howling IV recently and I was actually convinced there would be no werewolves at all. But seeing all the cool effects at the end made me hate the movie way more because it had the means to be a dumb fun werewolf film and they just didn't do anything with it until the last five minutes.

That happened to me with The Lord's of Salem. I was watching it with my mom (I was in Highschool at the time) and every 20 minutes, I'd just fall asleep. And so did she. It literally took us 3 days to watch the full movie because we'd fall asleep, then try to pick it up the next day from the last thing we remembered, but then we'd fall asleep again. As a fan of House of 1000 Corpses, I was incredibly disappointed with that movie and confused how it could have been produced by the same man.
When he talked about horror movies in netflix I remembered when I watched a movie called "bye bye man"... IT'S SO BAD LOL
This is actually a genius movie because the real horror is realizing you`ve aged 20 years in a mere 1h 23min

1: it's excellent. Either a masterpiece or close to one.
2: So bad it's good. Has many, many flaws that flip expectations of the intended in the opposite direction so far it becomes good again.

When I first heard the title, I thought that “Let’s Be Evil” was about a group of friends who one day just decide to become evil supervillains. After learning what the movie’s actually about, I’m absolutely sure that my version would’ve been much more entertaining.
Charlie doesn't realise that he explained the movie with one sentence. The truth is, the AI did actually make this movie, the movie made an AI that made a movie about itself to define itself.
No it didn't, it was all just one kid playing an in depth VR game. He was literally playing a game where he was evil, none of the other characters were real.
The fact that this movie, which felt like it went on for "days", is only 1hr 23 mins long makes this so much funnier.
