- George Jones sang A GOOD YEAR FOR THE ROSES live on Navy Hoedown NH72-16. The record has an inscription: "11-20-71." I assume that's when it was played at a radio station. Hal Durham was the MC and THE JONES BOYS were the band. A GOOD YEAR FOR THE ROSES was written by Jerry Chesnut. It was released as a single by George Jones in Oct 1970 and would hit number 2 on the country chart.
I own nothing. For educational and entertainment purposes only. No copyright infringement intended. I don't monetize any of my videos. I'm just a big fan of Tammy Wynette and my favorite male singer, George Jones.

What a great story! That's why I loved George. He was just an ordinary guy who never thought of himself as famous. RIP George Jones.

You’re right, and he was so loved. This song gets me every time. I start to cry, it took me a while to realize what it meant. Now it’s a favorite. ❤❤

Love this song. RIP George Jones
George Jones is one of the very, very few ...not just in country music. ..that could make a live version sound just as good or better than the recorded version.
Canceled your heart. ..sorry about that...MadMax ...edited grammar.
Oh Wow isn't this Beautiful ❤️?. Only George Jones can really get to your ❤️ Heart. Will ALWAYS miss them. Just wish COUNTRY 🎵 🎶 Music was like this now. 💕 💕 💕
Dang I miss George he was the GOAT. God Bless you, we miss you down here. Rest In Sweet Peace ❤
Great picks may they both rest in peace
This song has always been my favorite from him ❤ I used to sing this when I little ❤
George singing this song to the woman that inspired it is priceless.
George didn't write the song. that was Jerry Chestnut
Miss George andTammy. They were such good singers.
Think this is the only non studio version of this song. Stunning-
George and his Martin guitars were inseparable
I don't know how you find these wonderful new pictures and recordings, but I think you for sharing them. I'm probably the biggest George Jones fan out there, and I've never come across a live recording of this song before; this is a real treat.
The studio version with Alan Jackson isn't bad either.
@@nickpalladino9542 It's alright. It suffers from the overblown bass that was common in 80s and 90s country music. George's voice was also starting to weaken.
Love this one
What a great collection of pictures! Enjoyed this very much. Thank you!
I'm just one of your loyal followers
Thank you for keeping George and Tammy alive.
Still a beautiful song. Just didn't change at all. Thanks for playing this. Just touched my Heart ❤️.

Love this one max. I first heard it on a reader’s digest compilation album I had been given. I was more into pop,but I fell for country then, especially George and his beautiful wife (for a bit ) Tammy. Thank you for posting it. Stay safe
That was great really enjoyed all the old photos . Thanks for posting !
O artista tem obrigação de cantar bem. Mas ter obrigação e cantar bem e para poucos, isso teve de sobra o nosso querido geoge e a nossa encantadora Tammy, são ímpares.
Pic's are going to rapidly.
