What a great love song by the King and Queen of country music, George never got over Tammy....George Jones was The Goat and Tammy was the best woman country singer along with Patsy
My wonderful wife and I were ONE and in love for 51 years. Songs like this take me back to when we held each other, danced, and loved heart to heart. She passed last September and left such a hole in my heart. I keep her memories close by listening to our love songs, still dance with her and hold her close. I love you my Angel.
This song came out the year my wife and I were married. We went to Nashville for our honeymoon. We went to a taping of Crook and Chase on TNN at the time. The guest stars were George and Tammy. What a treat that was. Too bad this song didn't get the airplay it deserved back in 1995.
As long as I live this was a surprise birthday gift from my wife.. she knew I was a super fan of George and Tammy. She told me we were going to eat dinner and I went along.. when we arrived there I was thinking no way... but it was the best thing I ever have gotten. The whole time I was spell bound. Best birthday ever
Shame on country radio for not playing it more than they did in 1995. But what a blessing it was to hear them sing this song live back in 1995 as well.
ChessieSystem I totally agree, sadly when first hearing this, realizing it to be as if the pause button of time had been released, and as if they had never had a break in time. I felt this to be so beautiful, yet something told me this sadly would be the last album we would receive from our greats together and Tammy wasn't long to be with us and George surprised by being around longer than most expected, but, gosh what legacies they left us! And P.S., I'm still pissed they didn't receive duo of the year for it!
Ignorant people rubbish country music for its sentimentality, but although the arrangements can sometimes sound dated, genuine music lovers should be able to appreciate that this pair are truly great singers with the ability to convey the heartfelt emotion of a love song - something to be admired in any genre. RIP George and Tammy, no doubt enjoying each other's company and singing beautiful duets again on the other side of this life. Thanks to you both for your wonderful music.
The first time I watched this video it brought tears to my eyes. Not only because of these two fabulously talented artists but also for such a sweet and soulful song. Just thinking of George's death today brought me back to listen to this again. I don't think there will ever be another duo like George and Tammy - true icons. Love them dearly. Thank you for posting this treasure. My heart feels such grief over them both being gone now. We do have their music. - Paula
Is there any doubt after hearing this song why George Jones never got over Tammy Wynette. Of all they recorded together this song is the perfect way to describe what they had together. They were truly royalty when they sang together and always will be.
They sang sooooo well together, I will continue to listen to them and somehow try to believe that they're still here with us. Many thanks to youtube and all the people who share their uploads with us RIP GEORGE AND TAMMY
What a wonderful wonderful duo. George and Tammy are the cream of the crop. They are so down to earth and natural here and this song is one of the greatest ever written. What a love song ! This was their last one together as I recall before her health got worse. Thinking back to when they first met I'm sure brings tears to many eyes, as to mine, each time I watch this video. If there has ever been true love in anyone's life it never totally ends. Thank you for this treasure. - Paula
Far and above all others, this is the best country duet I have ever heard. This particular song combined with the magical talents of George and Tammy are simply breath-taking. Thanks for posting.
George and Tammy never stopped loving each other if you can see their facials expression they just couldn't make it but they still loved each other I think it was their careers ❤🎉😊
Have you ever listened close when Jones is harmonizing with someone? His harmonies are always so perfect... The man could have harmonized with an ailing cow and made it sound good. Jones has done tons of duets, and I like them all, especially his early stuff with Melba Montgomery- BUT, none captured the chemistry that he had with Tammy Wynette in the studio and on stage. Their private relationship as man and wife may not have worked, but they sure had something special professionally. Thank God his marriage didn't work out though- had it not been for Nancy Jones we wouldn't have had the old Possum around for as long as we did!!
So glad I got to see him it was something special as he was and even in pouring rain he continued. It was summer in Chicago after March Bridge accident and although I never sang with per se until that day thankful to have many more years and his living legacy of songs and influence. Also very thankful to Uncle whose albums and radio listening lead this country/city boy to his true love of country traditional music. Plan to listen Elvis Costello duet(s) with GJ of "Good year for the Roses" etc and On Our Bed of Roses off GJ's Choices album is another song that is poignantly timeless for me. Like the blues in life the sweet sadness of loss also reflects the beautiful touching love of remembrance GJ captured in so many of his songs.
I live close to Nashville and have my whole life. You can't get better then George and Tammy. I haven't had the honor of meeting George but Tammy was one of a kind. She was a trusting and caring person that loved with her whole heart. They were friends again when Tammy died and I know she would want people to remember that. RIP dear lady.
13 years ago today I married my best friend, my protector, my provider, my one and only true love. I know that together we can overcome anything. We are one. I love you Justin Robert Barrett I. I thank God for you every single day.

I posted pic of Tammy and Jones final resting place at Woodlawn in Nashville , Tenn from what some personal friends and some of the care takers at Woodlawn said Jones visited Tammy quite often ! Especially right before he got sick the last time!
AN16ish . Heartbreaking! She's been through so much all her life. Felt so sad of the way she died and for her girls and grandkids. God will have justice for her death😢💖♥️💗 I knew George Jones & Tammy Wynette loved each other so much and they meant to be together forever. Now they are together singing with GOD'S angels in heaven. Love their beautiful beautiful voices and songs. The king & queen of country. I listened to their music on UA-cam and Pandora everyday. Thanks for sharing your beautiful songs with the World. Rest in Love Tammy Wynette & George Jones. R.I.P😢😢💗💖♥️
I have always felt that George and Tammy visited each other secretly and I believe that he went to her grave often after her death. George loved Tammy .
@@priscilladominicci5777 You don't really know how down to earth she really was. Well she talked to us like we were neighbors and posed for pictures and which my mother still proudly displays. They don't make them like that anymore. They knew loved and appreciated their fans. The lesson I see in George Jones life, along with some others, like Lorrie Morgan, is that we go through deep heartache and trials and after we've endured much, God will bring someone who will help us get beyond the pain of life. I think George's last wife was hand picked by God and helped him get where he needed to be. I hope it works the same for Lorrie and those who have suffered a lot. Sometimes we loose the ones we love so much but it has big purpose in our life. God bless you all! Alena/DallasTX
Susan McCaffity I love Gorge Jones and even though I always get joked on for not liking the "new songs(pop)"I will never stop loving him And" one"day I will meet him In Heaven.🙂

Hello Linda, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
It was so hard for them to look at each other - there was a lot of chemistry there still. Magical
I love this song, you can tell those two still loved each other even though their marriage didn't work out.
I totally agree with you

The greatest male and female vocalists in the history of country music.
Tammy and George seemed so happy to be singing together again. Just watch their facial expressions

There will never be another loveable duet like George and Tammy! RIP 💕💕💕
No doubt about it; they are the best duet in country music history. Why in the world did they not win an award for this song?
Ruth Shirley and
Ruth Shirley Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty was a great duet to u can't take that away from them u gotta give credit where it's due
Because people were so jealous of their love
People were so jealous of their success that's why we know they were the best duet and should have won many awards
So glad they recorded this before Tammy passed away.
Shame on country radio for not playing it more than they did in 1995. But what a blessing it was to hear them sing this song live back in 1995 as well.
yes, radio would not give air time to such artist as them along with Barbara Mandrell and others. Conway and Loretta also had some great duets.

"rubbish country music"? "Country" is basic, hard-core feelings, like "blues." I despise your left-wing self-righteousness.
Dolly must if sing with about every country singer. She has outlived them All! Go Dolly Go! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
This is Tammy Wynette
Those crying voices😢😢😢😢💕💕💕💕💕
