If anyone ever had a hint of a thought that George and Tammy weren't truely in love, all you have to do is watch this video and see the truth in front of your eye's.
What many do not know is that George Jones, Janis Joplin, Tex Ritter (Tantamount entertainer to Roy Rogers) Mark Chesnutt, Clay Walker, Tracy Byrd, Jimmy Johnson, (former Dallas Cowboy Coach), Bum Phillips (Former Houston Oilers/New Orleans Saints Coach) all grew up within 30 miles of each other in the Beaumont - Orange, Port Arthur, Texas - Southeast Texas Region. In his hometown, there are no statues, no plaques, no roads, no schools named in his memory.
Did he ever sing a song for Nancy. He never topped loving Tammy ❤ NS was a true business women who managed George's finances. How he looks at Tammy is out of this world 🥰❤
You can tell Tammy is just mesmerized by George's song for her they were really in love, it's a shame it ended like it did. Love them both the best. I don't believe they ever stopped loving each other until the end
I still listen to all their songs and also Georgette's. I have her CD: "Strong Enough to Cry!" She is awesome!!! She got Tammy's voice and George's style! Wicked Combo!!
Oh look at gorgeous George how love is written all over his face,as he sings to Tammy, and looks at her lovingly and gives her a beautiful smile. Love this clip as they were so happy and so in love back then.
I just sat and cried watching how great he sounded and how she looked at him as he sang that to her. It was a match made in heaven if he hadn't had a drinking problem like he did. Two of the greatest voices to ever sing a country song.
Thanks to peanut Montgomery and his wife, George's brother and George brothers wife for saving George's life. George had nothing and Tammy paid for him to get rehab. And NS managed his finances when he was back on his feet.
I love George how he looks at Tammy with so much love in his eyes and often looks her way with a beautiful smile, and at the end of the song blows her a kiss.pure magic.
OMG What a performance! This music is a thing of the past unfortunately. Today's crap is not even worth listening to. There is no comparison. Thank goodness that people like you post such fantastic classic country performances like this for the rest of us to enjoy. Thank you for posting.
I MUST agree with you. One main thing back then, is that singers had unique voices. Todays singers all sound the same. Everyone wants to sound like eachother.
Agree that this is a great song and performance, but people have been saying "country music is crap these days" since forever. Mainstream Nashville has always ripped off whatever genre currently tops the charts. Plenty of "traditional" country music around if you look for it. BTW, does the guitar intro to this son make you feel like you're got sunshine on a rainy day?
Did George Jones know the voice and the talent he had. George had a gift he shared . A voice a gift from the good Lord. And with videos we still.hear that voice when ever we need to hear George sing.
Goodness gracious this is too good to be true... And the speech at the beginning is awesome too, you can tell he had a few drinks before, and still he performs flawlessly. Damn, I love George Jones.
It is so true that, 'He stopped loving her today,' and other-chart-toper's made him what he was. It is material like this that floors me! there's a passion just under the skin that envelopes an matures like a fine wine you do not want to uncork.
oh man his voice. My aunt jammed and played with him before he hit it big, she was so floored by his talent and all her life so thrilled to watch his success
This song went right out the window when this marriage went south. Right along with just about everything else that they owned together. The relationship never was built on the right kind of foundation. Georges river of liquor washed all the love away, and left a dry river bed in its place for all the painful memories. R I P ×2
Well how comes George richie never washed all the love away with his controlling. She could have had george Jones back but didnt want him. He sure wanted her.
George looks like a very romantic man. I wish that I could have met him and to have a fling with him. Only that I am a black woman from the Islands and that may not have been allowed here in America
Nothing against Tammy Wynett, but George Jones marriage to Nancy was the real deal and was the one that lasted. He said so himself. Just read his autobiography " I lived to tell it all"
Yes Nancy came along and saved George, but Nancy and George ,their love would never ever be like the love George shared with Tammy. Their true love was unforgettable, and George always loved Tammy so much up until his death.
How do you really know? I think it was more business than love in my opinion. Nancy pushed him and worked him. I wish George and Tammy had stayed together.
Love this video, but right after Tammy sat down, It "seemed" he was a little condescending of her. It's as if " I owen you, I'll tell you when to sit down", but Love the song and both of them, miss them on the radio.
They probably rehearsed George telling Tammy to take a seat for this song, and George was just pointing out that in his comment. But I have no idea -- just my guess.
Look at the way he looks at her, he loved her so much.
And Tammy had some kind of excuse she divorced George Jones
If anyone ever had a hint of a thought that George and Tammy weren't truely in love, all you have to do is watch this video and see the truth in front of your eye's.
There are no words to describe how good he was. Simply the best to ever walk this earth.
this is the stone cold truth
If we could only get the rest of the world to understand that!
Absolutely 110% Agree!!!!
The Greatest singer, EVER!!!!!!!

Oh shut the fuck up, listen to Chris Stapleton if you think there's no good music nowadays... LOOK INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING DUMB BITCH.
I MUST agree with you. One main thing back then, is that singers had unique voices. Todays singers all sound the same. Everyone wants to sound like eachother.
I could not agree more with you, especially when you live it. Without even knowing it, that the special thing about living and existing.

@@jimbrent6037 very true.
Was this before or after he ruined that one Christmas? lol I don't really care...he's the best.
I don't understand how two people with so much love for each other got divorced.
Tammy was difficult, and George drank. They both abused drugs, but at least he found happiness and sobriety in the end.
woke up to this song on my phone from my husband love u babe michael hawkins
I shed a tear while I was lip sync
Sometimes singer gets drinking cause problems marriage George love her drinking cause divorce

He was only telling her to sing down so he could sing TO her.
Get real
George had a sence of humour and if the sitting down comment looked bad then you really did not know how George joked around
George would say things that were ment as a joke, he was never controlling or nasty in any way.
It was just a little joke, George was a beautiful person and he loved Tammy so much.
