How many languages can you speak?
That hat she wore always reminded me of an early version of a leather football helmet
It sorta looks like the jousting helmet her first Philip wore as Daemon.
Me too! LOL Actually, I had read that Lord Snowden, who prepared the ceremony, designed it to have a medieval look. The hat the Queen is wearing was a style that was popular in Tudor times.
Great actor josh o connor
I know this was deeply unpopular but I do feel we could have had some kind of small ceremony for William when he became Princess of Wales.
What is that supposed to mean?
If His Royal Highness ever becomes Princess of Wales, I shall eat my hat!
William is already Prince of Wales. I don't know if there will be an investiture ceremony.
Were it here in the States, Wills could 'identify' as the Princess of Wales! 😂
😢@gidzmobug2323
He isn't officially. He has to have the ceremony to confirm it.
1:50 sort of reminds me the the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur, CO in July...😅
Football helmet hat! (Actually the real Queen did wear a similar
hat to the real investiture of the Prince of Wales!). 👑
Almost spot on. The ceremony was designed to have a medieval look and feel to it and that hat was a style popular in Tudor times.
@@retroguy9494 Interesting, didn't know that! Thanks!
@@Aramanth You're welcome! 😁
This is so cool.
Welsh sounds a lot like Valerian (Game of Thrones).
P.S. Spare me the critics about this being an abominable comparison.
Valerian is inspired by Tolkien's Sindarin, which in turn was heavily inspired by Cymraeg, so you're not that far off.
Question from an American. Since Prince William is now Prince Of Wales, shouldn’t he be going through this ceremony ?
Not necessarily. The creation of a new Prince of Wales is done by the monarch issuing new letters patent doing so. This ceremony is just a piece of fluff created in 1911 when George V created his son Edward Prince of Wales. The only other time this ceremony was used was in the 1969 investiture of Prince Charles. At the time it led to a lot of anti-investiture protests, as the Welsh people felt he was an English prince being forced on them.
I hate the Queen's hat and the Queen is so icy and chilly here. I mean your son is being crowned here, no smile or anything?
The ultimate Nepobaby.
Jealous huh 😂😂
@@SanthoshTalluri-fs6jb But, of course, who wouldn't want to inherent billions without doing anything but being born? No shame in that, especially since I'm a Brit and as long it's not in the Hapsburg line.
this is how royal houses usualy do their business, you know.
The queen wore that HORRIBLE hat in solidarity with the prince and that HIDEOUS crown, i guess...
🤣
No, that was not it. Lord Snowden designed the ceremony and he did it to have a medieval look and feel to it. The hat the Queen is wearing is based on a style that was popular during Tudor times.
Really,@@retroguy9494 ??? I've never seen a tudor hat that looks like that... And the Tudors weren't medieval... And still it doesn't explain the horrible, HORRIBLE crown...
@@RoPiDe Well, that's what I read about it. You're right. Technically, the Tudors were not medieval. However, early Tudor forces were essentially medieval. The Tudors also incorporated medieval revivalism into their arts, which included some fashions.
Also, The Tudor monarchy was framed by Renaissance values and techniques and it's most spectacular assets were the person and image of the ruler. So that just might explain both the Queen's hat and the Prince's crown.
Prince
Sorry, auto correct!
(Prince,🎸 the musician was SO much better!!)
😂
Lizzie didn't look like a happy camper here. I wonder why she was making that constipated face?
It's a drama .....
Actually one of the issues with the series is that it's historically inaccurate. Charles did speak in Welsh at his investiture, but never made a speech about Welsh nationalism. The Queen also looked very happy and proud in the actual newsreels.
@@cherylhulting1301 Well, I don't know about that one. I've seen the actual footage from the ceremony and to ME, it looks like she's scowling there too!
A rotten prince then, a terrible king now....
Couldn't agree more
Can’t wait until William becomes King
@@PatrickTower-ln7oi barf, the whole lot. Princess Anne should have the throne.
will William have a ceremony like this? in Wales?
@@ernestinehemingway7799 Sadly, he won't.
Every time I watch these clips, I am reminded why I never watched this series. The slobbering over-dramatization of 'reality' would be absolutely laughable, if it weren't nauseating. lol
(But glad for those who enjoyed it. 🤣)
I agree😂
Life in general is quite boring so if we didn't dramatize our movies, shows, games etc, they too would be dreadfully dull 😄
Slobbering over-dramatization of 'reality?' Indeed............
LOVE OLIVIA!! Charles & Co had Diana slaughtered
Diana's death was a tragic accident.
...like most things they pledged to..it was a load of bollocks...
