    For a Kanami deep dive, H-G-K would be the best pick from Unseen World.
    According to Kanami, it’s the hardest technical track she’s written till date. Bonus is Akane went all out on it as well.
    Here’s a translation of her tweet regarding this track.
    Kanami- Saiki-sensei requested for me to write a song that combines both “Alone” and “Choose Me”... how about it? I created something that was completely different. *laughter emoticon*. H-G-K probably has the most difficult guitar parts in the whole album.

    • @maurormatos

      Their first written composition and their best selling record to date. And still I like H_G_K better

    • @Dtagcity
      @Dtagcity 2 роки тому +2

      @@maurormatos With BM's consistency, I always have a hard time picking a fav. But H-G-K stood out to me immediately despite UW being their overall best album in my books.
      Forget about the amazing solo, sillky smooth transitions or the epic 2nd verse switchup, just the main riff alone is pure fire!
      That said, this track is actually very easy to overlook considering its position in the middle of the album and hyped tracks (like Black hole - fastest, Manners - Groovy classic rock + MV, Giovanni - weirdest song structure yet, After life- Single + MV, Warning - Intro track + MV, Sayonakidori- Miku track, No God- Misa solo) taking a chunk of the attention away.
      Also, without a headphone with good audio separation, the guitar lines in this track can sound quite muddy or noodly as some call it.
      I recall reading about how Kanami went nuts layering multiple guitar lines on this.
      So it's partly her fault 😅, not the mix but I'm glad she did what she did.
      Coz I freaking love this track to bits

    I take my hat off to Kanami for doing the scenes on the moving car despite her rather great fear of heights!
    ...
    Since I know that there are many who don't think much of theories, I ask those to skip to the next comment at this point. 😉
    ...
    There is a theory going around about the music video which says that it is a dig at the western music industry. And I can certainly understand the arguments.
    Note the brands of the two cars, which you don't normally see in scenes like this. An American Cadi and a British Jaguar, which are representative of the music markets in their respective continents. The fact that they have been in a clinch with each other for ages is nothing new and is depicted by the race in which both are not exactly gentle with each other. And it is inevitable that there will be a big blow-up between the two markets at some point, which is represented by the explosion after the two drive straight at each other. And now look again at the scenes during the intro, which already spoil the outcome. When the dust settles after this crash, Band-Maid/Japan will still be standing and towering over the two of them, which is also shown by the later scenes of them playing on the cars or Kanami's solo... You can call me crazy if you want, but it makes a lot of sense to me and can be understood as a "Warning". :)

    • @charcolew
      @charcolew 2 роки тому +8

      I have seen this theory discussed on another reaction video, and it is very interesting. You could also say that the two western cars are both black, suggesting a funeral. Perhaps what is being said in Warning is that Japanese rock is alive and thriving while UK / US rock has crashed and burnt.

    In the live stream @Sergof-san commented [The "Over here, Oni-san, follow the clapping." isn't a good translation.]
    It is actually not good. But may be impossible to properly translate it into English.
    This part "Over here, Oni-san, follow the clapping." is exactly inherited from a song/call from a game similar to "tag" in our childhood.
    In this song, it is used something near "Come and get me, I'm here". This would make more sense, but I think they followed the original lyrics.
    「鬼さん、こちら手の鳴る方へ」"ONI-San, kochira te no naru hou-he"
    A chosen person (becomes ONI = kind of devil) will have their eyes folded (with towels or something), the game starts when the other members start calling " ONI-San kochira-he te no naru hou-he" with hand claps. If ONI can tag someone blinded, the game is over and the person who got tagged becomes the next ONI.

      I was just researching this line and saw that the translation seemed way off. You saved me the trouble of finding out what it's really referring to, so thanks! Sounds like it's the Japanese version of Marco Polo.
      I did some research on "oni" (鬼) in this context, too. I've often seen it translated as "ogre", but apparently it can refer to a person who is fierce and relentless. Since this song is about their efforts to break away from the control of record labels, it struck me that this could be an analogy for ambitious and greedy record execs.
      If that's what the lyrics mean here, it turns the children's game into a taunting call. "Here we are, you monster. Come and get us."
      Does that make sense?

    The strength of Band-Maid lies in their songs, individual composition, and band synergy. After I hear a Band-Maid song, I feel I've been on a sonic journey of excellence. When the song's over, I've experienced a shared, emotional experience with each of the members. I leave the song with an impression of substance leaving me uplifted and satisfied. I don't get that with most groups. I do get that with Jinjer, The Warning, and a few other groups (mostly older groups like RUSH, YES, & Foo Fighters, etc.).
    As for individual composition: No one plays like Akane, MISA and Kanami. Even Miku has something distinct - her in-and-out playing which adds dynamics, and her totally unique vocal parts and harmonies. Whether it's in their tones, attack (technique), setups or background (frame-of-reference) with music, they each bring to the table something undeniable and fresh.
    Which brings me to band synergy: On stage, I've never heard such awesome power from a female (and most male) groups, and an interaction that's a fusion of quirkiness, fun and love for each other, their fans, and for their music.
    Band-Maid is a rare, golden music group that comes around maybe once a decade or two... or three... Unless you're a casual listener that bumps into them now and then, it's really impossible to compare them with any other group. Their Fans & Maidaics know the difference from the first moments of their performance. I think if one finds any similarities with another group, like some reactors have, it's that the other groups have been influenced by Band-Maid. ;-) Thx Wave, for another great B-M reaction!

There's some clever editing and scene composition here, the cars are actually going quite slow at least when band members are in the shot. IIRC somebody said you can hear that the music they're playing along to is slowed down when Misa & Akane are on the truck.

      @@bartyslattfast Agree that they all are great drummers. It is all a matter of taste and perception. I could easily make a case to put Anika on number 1 in stead of Senri. The reason why I put Pau on number 2 is because of her personality, approach and application which is combined in her soul of playing. To me it is not the quickest, most technical drummer that is by definition the best drummer. It is the drummer with the feel, the groove and ability to get the meaning of the song across. What probably is underestimated is that Pau has a once in generation music personality. The unbelievable lyrics (Evolve for example, look to Unnatural Selection on Netflix) she has written , the fact she is always 'on' with an intensity of a nucleair power plant, her great sense of humor and accessibility. I can all FEEL that and the messages in her playing. Her layers of intellect are truly inspiring and come back in het drumming and singing (on the piano). When I look at Tamu and Akane I see two sensational drummers but I do not feel what I feel with Pau. Again that is very personal. Again that takes nothing away from Tamu and Akane or Kanade for example. As it looks at this moment in about 6/7 years probably they all will be blown away by Yoyoka. Of all the footage, if available, that I have seen she is by far ahead of the rest at 11 years old. Funny thing is that Kii is 8 years old and also shows tremendous promise. If Yoyoko develops like everybody thinks she will, some rules will be rewritten. Her groove and timing, pffff already unbelievable. However puberty is a special phenomenon so time will tell. At the end of the day all these women are taken very serious in the industry and can compete with male drummers, who very often overpower themselves and therefor have a lack of dynamics. Closing on the drummers a hail hail to the finest biscuit in the cookie jar: Senri, Senri arigato. Finally is it worth mentionning that none of these women have a drug addiction. They are better role models than for example Bonham, Baker or Moon. Talking about another instrument Bass, I would put Mohini Dey high in every top 10, because she has got it all: ua-cam.com/video/CTEWBZY-i5w/v-deo.html.
