In interviews, Saiki has talked about her vocal coach helping out with all aspects of her singing, but also about how she is strengthening her core muscles, taking care of her larynx, and so on. And it really shows: she just nailed the last exhausting US tour with no loss of power that I could tell.
Great commentary and glad that you really enjoyed Saiki's documentary. Here is my favorite little-known trivia story about Saiki. Once during their early years, Band-Maid was scheduled to play at an outdoor music festival in Japan. To get to the stage from their dressing room area, they had to cross this large open grassy field infested with grasshoppers, which absolutely terrified Saiki and because they were attempting to jump and cling onto her, she adamantly refused to walk across the field. So Akane Hirose the drummer (AKA gorilla) volunteered to physically carry the screaming Saiki piggy-back across the sea of grasshoppers until they reached the safety of the stage so that they could start their performance on time. It seems that their willingness to help each other to overcome difficulties is one of the things which makes these five great musical artists of Band-Maid so endearing.
Saiki said "Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more." They will play a bigger venue on November 26th; Yokohama Arena. The next Ohrenje documentary is on Kanami Tōno.
You are going to love the other members in this series. They are all little gems. The information will steep you into the culture of BAND-MAID. Why they are what they are. Blessed be the Maids.
If you really want to hear Saiki in a setting that will melt you like butter, find a way to view their Christmas acoustic set from I think 2021. Aired on Christmas day, 1 hour and 10 minutes long and every track is amazing. Other songs in the vein of About Us are Smile and Memorable. Memorable is another one that you'll appreciate even more if you know that it's about them being blown away at the love they received from the maidiacs during the US tour, so view the lyrics in that way. I love Sai-chan because she's an alto - her voice is awesome in both the hard rock and soft acoustic settings.
Saiki has mentioned that she also loves bands like Foo Fighters and Muse, so she obviously has a wide range of musical taste. Of course she was extremely young when she joined and is the band's youngest Maid.
Good call K-Ross! This documentary is excellent and you will find out everything and more about what you want to know about Band-Maid! Ohrenje et all did an amazing work putting this documentary together! 😎🤘
I avoided checking them out for a while because of the look. I thought it would be pop, which I generally don't care for. But I loved them from the first song. I've now seen them twice in a festival setting, and they stand out from the other acts in every possible way. If you see them, you will never forget them. Now, maid outfits seem like proper rock attire to me.
'Secret My Lips' was a BAND-MAID song first and then became 'Secret Maiko Lips' for the first BAND-MAIKO video. The only stand alone BAND-MAIKO song with an OMV is 'Gion-Cho'. Love their Docos! Many people have that initial reaction to a Japanese Maid Band, but that was the point from the beginning. Miku wanted that Gap, between the look and their sound.
A really brilliant documentary series that Ohrenje and Kasper, as well as everyone else involved in this project, have created. Whether everyone can relate to it or not, this series shows why Band-Maid is so much more than just good music for most of us. They are great people, great characters, each of whom can be inspiring in general. I have to admit that at the beginning of my journey with B-M, I didn't really notice Saiki because my ears were overly impressed by the instruments. But with her presence and sometimes 'unapproachable'/'mysterious' appearance, she had me wrapped around her little finger without me even realizing it. 🤭 An all-round great woman who is as essential to B-M with her 'instrument' as any of these ladies. _____________________ _"Sometimes we laugh because we're sad or to hide our frustration"_ - from *Gacharic Spin* -「 I Wish I 」 🎶✨
I want to take an exception with one aspect of this particular doc. Saiki continued to have an apron after this, you can see it in videos like Real Existence and Don’t Let Me Down. It’s just black :P
If you've succumbed to the Maids music side and want to see more of them try looking for the Kannai Devil BAND-MAID shows, for a quirkier take on their likes, dislikes, activities, coffee, toy trains, grasshoppers, furniture stores, PUBG, drinking and so much more, they're well worth a watch🙂
There is a non Band-Maid performance by Saiki on YT. Look for the song "Wonder" by the band Unchain. Saiki shares the vocals and it is pre-surgery so you can hear the difference. Miku wrote the lyrics to this song.
One thing that they missed was the fact that, amongst all the other things that Saiki was doing, she was on stage in a Play in Tokyo, two days before the band's first performance with her. So you can see, that career wise, she had the most to give up by joining the band.
Correction #2, Saiki did NOT want to be a J-pop idol. That's why she didn't like the Maid outfits. She didn't want to be cute! When asked a question for idol groups, what was her charm? Saiki replyed she's has none!😂😂😂 Both Saiki and Misa are the cool chicks, always dressed in black. The other 3 are the cute ones, always in Maid outfits.
Thank you for reacting to my documentary 😊 I'm glad that you liked it!
Great work!!! thumbs up

Ohrenje's BAND-MAID docu's are best bar none. And all done with the dulcet tones of Kasper Michaels. His voice can make chocolate melt.🙂👍
As do your words GH, suddenly I feel like I'm a Toblerone out under a hot Aussie summer sun. Hmmm feel warm now, woo hoo beer time, cheers GH 😁🍻🍻🍻
Ohrenje and Kasper are the GOAT's
Gary Holloway if the GOAT of Maidiacs.

Orenji does fantastic and informative videos!
"Ditto".👍
These Doc's are really good. You will enjoy them all. And yes, the band is very protective of Saiki and her voice 👍

And welcome!
There are NO black hole, No rabbit holes......only Pigeon hole.....you'll understand soon.
Narrated by Kasper Michaels - a well known voice over artist and audiobook narrator
Absolutely. I think he narrated for National geographic too.
So glad to see more reaction to this series! hope you make your way through them all!
Live she's the on that surprised me she is fantastic on stage she will look and smile at everyone

Yes, it was a smart strategy. All Miku. You will see, Po! 🕊️
These docs are the best, just like Band Maid 🤗🕊
Thanks for watching thie doku series.
Looking forward to the next part.
Thank you for doing this reaction 🤘🔥
If the Maids tour the UK I'll most definitely be flying over from Oz, see you at the bar as I have it on good authority Gary Holloway is shouting 🤪👍🍻🍻
Correction, you're going down the pigeonhole, po!
Similar to going down the Foxhole with babymetal.🤘
