    I took notes, put your video in my favourites in my "Italia 2025" folder. We'll be in Rome four full days before moving onto the Naples region (still haven't decided where our home base will be there for the following 5 nights), then rent a car to drive over to the province of Campobasso in the Molise region and go to Larino, where my paternal grandfather was born.
    I definitely intend to take this tour and split it up to include it in our 3 day itinerary that my wife found (Colosseum/Forum, Vatican City, Trastevere), visit the piazzas in the evening and visit the rest on day 4.
    Tip we got from my sister-in-law, visit early in the morning, go and relax while the people of the cruise ships play tourist between 10 am and 3-4 pm and then go back for the rest.
    Bonjour! Hi! Buongiorno! from Montreal, QC!

      Good advise from sister in law as that does seem to be to most crowded to of the day. If you have 5 nights in Naples may I suggest you spend a couple in Sorrento. Here are 2 places we really enjoyed. The first is in Naples www.airbnb.com/rooms/33966908?source_impression_id=p3_1726344701_P3iqheKd1sgcgsXW. Very nice location, short walk from Metro. The second is in Sorrento.www.airbnb.com/rooms/10018873?source_impression_id=p3_1726344848_P3HNQSkVSU8t2sJF PERFECT LOCATION! We stayed there on 2 occasions and loved it!

    Still loving your vids and great information. We now have our flight tickets and lodging at Torre Argentia. We are there just before Memorial Day (3rd week of May). Would you consider this a busy time? Also, how is the Pantheon in the evening as the day we fly in from NYC I know we will have jet lag and need to crash in the late afternoon and thought maybe an evening visit to the Patheon would be nice and less crowded. Not sure if it's open. If not, maybe then we go to dine in Testaverde area.

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  4 місяці тому

      May is a great month in Rome but also one of the most busy. Do not let that scare you as you can still have a great time just make sure you have you reservations secured in advance and it sounds like you do. resist the temptation to nap when you arrive. Fight to stay up at least until 8pm or you may find it hard to get adjusted to the time even day later. Once we had a rough flight I crashed at 7pm and then woke up a 3am wide awake. So we got up and started touring the sites at 3am. It was incredible! and very memorable. Have a great visit! Pantheon is usually not to long a wait to get in, The Vatican however is so get there 7am to avoid crowds at St Peters Basilica

    I am a new subscriber and found your videos so informative and helpful!!!
    We are doing an Italy tour in September and have an “early entry” Vatican visit
    planned. After the museum, Sistine Chapel and Basilica….We want to take the elevator up in the dome of the Basilica but unfortunately don’t think we should do the final climb for medical reasons. I have read that there are restrooms and a cafe for those descending from the top. But wanted to have a place to sit (rest) and also have a snack/drink before we go back down the lift.
    Is this cafe/restroom area available to those who do not climb to the top?
    I appreciate any suggestions if you think we should just get down and out… then find a place outside.

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  8 місяців тому +1

      It’s definitely worth going to even if you don’t go all way to the top. You can get some great views inside the basilica looking down. There’s a gift shop and restrooms for everybody because it’s right there at the mid-level. I do not remember seeing a café, but perhaps there is, I really don’t know that for sure. The biggest challenge is dealing with all the lines at the three venues. If your Vatican museum tickets do not include entry into the basilica, you’re going to have to stand in line again and if that’s the case, I suggest you go back another day and get there in the morning when it first opens. Saint peters opens up at 7 AM, and the museum opens up at 8 AM. to go to the top of the dome that opens up at 8 AM and the line starts forming around seven 3745 in the morning if you’re not there when it first opens the line to go to the top of the Dom can sometimes be one or two hours And most of the time be at least one hour, so getting there early in the morning to see the Basilica or go straight to the dumb and see that basilica after descending will save you a lot of time in line. There are also a couple cafés at the Vatican museum, which may be a better option for you.

    • @AdamsMom921
      @AdamsMom921 8 місяців тому

      @@RozierRoma I reserved the early entry small tour which I understand gets in the museum at 7:15. We hope to avoid as much foot traffic as we can and marvel at the sights. After the chapel, we will be taken via a back entry into the basilica. I just figured that we would be ready to sit and take a breath at that point in the morning. If the line is too long for the elevator- we will probably leave and look for your pizza suggestions nearby.
      I have heard that the cafe upstairs tends to either overcharge or provide improper change back. One review was a woman who was furious that she was had by a young employee in the center of Christiandom! So I will see how long it will be to wait… and how we feel - then decide!
      Again, I am watching many of your videos- gives me such a good understanding of what to expect…
      I wish you much UA-cam success!

      I appreciate that! Lots of good pizza in the area. One place I like is Pinsa M'Po if it is not too crowded. It is only a few blocks away on the way to the nearest metro station Otaviano. I hope you have a great trip.

    Do you have any advice if the Vatican tickets are sold out on the day you are going?

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  6 місяців тому

      What I think happens is scalpers buy them all up and try to resell them at a premium. If you don’t want to pay the premium, you can show up at about 7:00 in the morning and you shouldn’t have too big a problem.. the Vatican museum opens up at 8 AM. It does get crowded in the morning but getting there an hour early should put you in good position to get tickets quickly and get into the Vatican shortly after 8 AM.. if you are wanting to visit the St. Peter’s Basilica, it opens up at 7 AM and getting there anytime before 8 AM. The lines are short and it’s free.

    Love all of your tips in this video. Do you think we could do this in reverse, seeing Vatican last. I can’t get tix early to the Sistine chapel? Our train arrives in termini @ 8:35 am from Florence, we depart Rome @9:10pm. We are doing these sites free by observing from the outside: Colosseum, Roman forum, largo Argentina, piazza Nuvano, Spanish steps, Pantheon, imperial forum. We want to include the Sistine Chapel but not sure how to do this. I’ve found entry tix @ 12:30, 3:30 and I believe 4:30. Any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
    It’s our 1st visit to Italy

    • @RozierRoma

      Yah you can do it in reverse. On the app there is the option to go in reverse. Buy the 4pm entry giving you plenty of time to explore before getting to the Vatican. After the Vatican if you still have time may I suggest heading to trastevere for dinner. Lots of places to choose from. You will need to leave there by about 8pm to make sure you have time to get back to station in time. A taxi is about 20 minutes maybe 30 if traffic is bad.

      Thanks for your help and dinner suggestions!
      I was only able to get entry tix to the museums and Sistine chapel @12:30 on our only day there. They're selling out fast. I'll squeeze a couple things in on the way to the Vatican, hopefully the Trevi fountain won't be too crowded. This should be interesting 😅
      Thanks again

      St Peters is free but you will need to go through a small security process that creates the line. Opens at 7:00 am, get there early and avoid the line

    I appreciate this challenge and this guys efforts to maximise a day in Rome but, in all honesty you can't do Rome properly in 1 day. Please give yourself more time.

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  8 місяців тому +1

      Some people only have one day maybe they’re coming in from a cruise or they just don’t have the time needed to see Rome properly. This is a good option. If that’s all the time you have. I’m getting ready to put out a second video that is a two day itinerary and another video next week that is a three day itinerary that will include more sites, and honestly, I think you may need even more time.

    Wow sir, i wonder how you did this in a day, was it stop and go? @rozierroama my mother is having some leg issues after walking for extended periods, would you suggest two days instead? Best way to get to Vatican from torre?

    • @RozierRoma
      @RozierRoma  7 місяців тому +1

      Right Largo Argentina, there are several buses that passed through every 5 to 10 minutes heading towards the Vatican. It may be a bit much for some people to do it in one day. It’s just over 3 miles of walking. If you want to slow it down, I would say do the Vatican then head to the Colosseum and spend a little bit more time there and maybe take the walk down towards P7 AF in the Roman forum on the first day and then continue the next day. Some people spend all morning at the Vatican, and then another 2 to 3 hours at the Colosseum, which in itself can be a full day. I recommend going at the pace you feel comfortable. Another option would be to skip the Vatican and start at the Colosseum and do the Vatican another morning.

    • @narvin3
      @narvin3 7 місяців тому

      @@RozierRoma thank you sir. Currently finalizing tickets and surveying air bnbs your right they aren’t cheap. Noticed that it’s cheaper towards the Vatican but there are other options near the Argentina piaza you mentioned. Pretty much a walking guy just needs time and he can cover a lot.
