Hello, I'm visiting Rome on October 8th and your videos have been a great help in making my decision and helping me during my 7 days in Rome. Thank you so much for sharing these fantastic videos with us! All the best!
Hi, currently in Rome, just heading out on one of your tours. We purchased the guide and used your advice to stay at a great spot overlooking Largo Argentina. Thanks so much for enriching our Rome visit…
@ We are using the Rome 10 K tour and it is working very well for us. It’s very easy to follow along, pause the route when we get distracted, etc. The only real issues are that 1) we are easily distractable and there is a lot to see, 2) my better half doesn’t like to walk as much, as fast, and as long as I do and 3) I spent a lot of time reviewing your routes and videos so for most of it I really don’t need the gps routing to get me where I want to go. We’ve been back and forth on the route several times and we tend to get started and then find something cool along the way. Also, I went with my friend this morning and we hiked the Via Appia Antica from the 5.7 mile point back to the Catacombe San Sabastiano, it was an amazing walk and we wished that we’d done the entire 8 miles. The big issue was our taxi driver was a local to that area, said that he rides his bicycle there on a regular basis, and insisted that he knew a better spot for us to start. Oh well. That was one of the best short hikes ever, given that we both did about 282 km on the Camino de Santiago in September 2023. Anyway, all of your Rome resources are great. One suggestion is that we planned 4 full days in Rome after visiting southern Italy for nearly 3 weeks, so we didn’t feel any need to do a day trip out of Rome while here. You might consider a 3 or 4 day itinerary that contemplates all days spent in Rome. Best!…
So glad to hear things worked out. I had a friend try the Camino di Santiago but did not make it all the way so way to go! Now you have a reason to go back and complete the full Apia Antica. I will work on a full 4 day itinerary just in Rome, good suggestion!
In Rome 10-5-24, staying in Trastevere based on your recommendation and saw you while eating at La Tavernetta 29 da Tony e Andrea. Couldn’t catch up fast enough to thank you for all the videos. Love the channel!
That is awesome but it must have been my dopplegenger as I am in the States visiting kids but we return to Rome next month! I hope you mear was good? I just published a video today about Trastevere that I think you will like!
@@RozierRoma best place to stay. A lot of walking as it is away from the main hustle and bustle of Rome, but we loved being able to come back to Trastevere and find great food, drinks and gelato along with a vibrant friendly atmosphere.
I saved all the places on my Google Maps. In fact I have saved some already while watching your other videos. Merci! Thanks! Grazie! Cheers from Montreal, QC!!
Oh my, thank you so much for this! My wife and I are headed to Rome on October 8th and we will definitely be doing this GPS guided tour because we really love food!
I just wanted to thank you. I recently visited Rome, and your videos really helped me to plan. I had an amazing week and saw loads of wonderful sites. I now have the Rome bug, and I'm already thinking about saving to go again. Thanks again for your videos! ❤
Great article thanks! I have been to some of the places you mention, excellent directions! I go to Roma every year, will be there in two days can’t wait! Grazie mille☺️
Such a great, comprehensive itinerary! Thank you so much for putting this together! Two questions: 1) How long will this one-day walking tour take at a medium pace with a few stops for food, restroom, and photo ops? 2) Which, if any, of these restaurants/vendors offer vegan fare? Please keep the videos coming! Nothing helps us travelers more than recommendations plus maps - and you've cornered that market on those for Rome! Well done!
I am glad you liked it. It is about 4.5 miles, at a very slow pace, giving you plenty of time to eat and just enjoy. Plan for 6 hours. (Actual walking time about 1.5 hours). Sorry not too sure about vegan food. Hard to enjoy Rome on a vegan diet. I get it but if it is not part of your religion you may want to make some compromise. I hope you have a great visit
Thanks much! This is very helpful! I was thinking it would be a much fuller day, so this is great news!! As for vegan options in Rome - I actually hear there are tons of options. I have a list of restaurants and gelaterias, but no street food vendors... I guess I just need to plug all these restaurants into a map so we can walk the itinerary and find the closest restaurants with vegan options whenever we are hungry/ready to eat/need a restroom! I'm not big on mapping technology. Can I use your itinerary and add the restaurants I have listed?
Many restaurants throughout Rome self the Jewish fried artichokes, but the best place is to get them where they originated in the Jewish ghetto. They sell to go ones at Bona Pizza right in the middle of the main street in the Jewish ghetto. If you want a more sit down experience, there are several good options next-door. They sell them year-round but the best time is when they’re in season. I’m not sure when it starts but maybe December January February March April something like that
@@RozierRoma we took the bus to Trastevere. Walked around, had an Aperol Spritz, then headed back to the hotel. The tap credit card worked on 4 buses that we used. I would recommend taking a few different credit cards as the Bank of America travel card would not work… but both of the Capital One Venture cards did. If I didn’t have the spare… it would have been an illegal ride and subject to a fine.
@@RozierRoma the pizza was very good! And the owner at the counter was so friendly… I showed him your UA-cam channel and he was grateful for the recommendation of his business. He took a picture of my screen with your channel… so you might have a new follower 😁
Great video! We will definitely visit some of these places next month. Largo Argentina was where Caesar was murdered. I know it would make your video too long, but there is so much along that route beyond food.
There is lots to discover for sure. I figure I will promote some of the larger known sites and some of my favorite food and people can discover lots of other interesting sites along the way.
Scott, I will be in Italy for a month and in Rome 9 days. I won't need phone data for most of my trip. Your GPS tours look fantastic. How much data do you recommend people purchase to use Google maps apps like Kamoot?
5 GB would be plenty. Have you considered getting a Sim card when you get there? They call it a tourist Sim card. They are much faster than any of the foreign carriers. If that’s important to you. You will use your phone quite a bit for Reviews, maps, looking stuff up. Hope that helps. Have fun.
Hi Buddy , Really like your video , very information & very detail. If I am staying @ Rome Termini Station area. What is the best public transport to Piazza Navona ?can i take the Metro ? thanks in advance
You could hop on lots of buses from the terminal station that take you to Largo, Argentina, Largo, Argentina, and it’s just a short walk from there. H bus, 64 bus and there are others.
Sunday is a very fun day to visit the Jewish ghetto, but it is very busy. I recommend you get over there. I think you will love it and if not, you’ll at least try something very original in Rome.
I agree with you after the Vatican capital Museum and churches it might be time to change it up. When I do is to rent a paddle buggy and cruise around Villa Borgheses Park Or take a day trip out to Tiboli
@@RozierRoma This next visit we are going to stay in Rome, but spend most of our time on close day trips: Ostia Antica, Tarquinia, Cerveteri, Tivoli, and your biking recommendation down the Appian Way. I’ll post stuff on my “Looking for Romans” channel when I get back.
