I personally think that Syndicate's parkour is an improvement on Unity's for the most part. Unity was slow, clunky and inconsistent and Syndicate cut unnecessary animations from the system to make it faster and more responsive. In Unity there was little opportunity for the player to target specific parkour elements because Parisian buildings were so complicated, but London's buildings are simpler. I know the rope launcher is controversial but the way I see it, Ubi Quebec came up with a solution to London's wide streets that didn't interrupt the flow of movement and also fit the time period of the game.
i honestly prefer Unity parkour but not because of the system itself since they are really similiar but mainly because London’s wide street makes parkour really hard forcing you to use the rope launcher that i personally don’t like but as you said it was the only way to improve the movement through the city
You saying Unity is slow and clunky but Syndicate being the whole definition of those two is crazy. Also, Syndicate was far from being more responsive, actually it was quite the opposite with the side ejects and lack of a jump button
@@AdamAircraft most of it actually isn’t an opinion, like the reduced responsiveness and the lack of a jump button affecting the overall parkour. Factually, and it’s really not an opinion, Syndicate’s parkour is overall worse than Unity’s
You definitely aren’t. The lack of a manual jump button, the spaced out buildings, the rarity of doing a side eject, and the fact that you don’t gain any height with either type of eject are the main problems with Syndicate’s parkour. I don’t like Syndicate much as a whole tbh
Most people don’t like it, I’m one of the few that do. The side building parkour just slows you down. Scale a wall until you can side hop or side drop onto an obstacle you can shoot your launcher from to scale the rest of the way and then run the rooftops using windows and chimneys for successive jumps and rolls again using the rope launcher to cross streets
thank you very much! Yes,glad i’m not alone on this one,i feel like the two big problems are that you have to use the grapple so many times to actually be able to get from one roof to another and that the buildings are way too far apart from each other.
Nope, I do as well. It's not a bad parkour system, it just could of been better, and probably could of been better then Unity if Ubisoft actually tried and learned from their mistakes. Just because Unity has more clunk doesn't make Syndicate parkour better. The environment is a bit too open, which shouldn't have been an issue if they made the grapple hook better then what we got, missed potential right there. They practically removed side ejects from Unity, which again could of been improved upon. And the back eject didn't make you gain height anymore. Not to mention they also removed manual jumps. So yeah, I understand 100% why you don't like Syndicates parkour. Still a fun game imo though.
agree with you,i really don’t like the fact that you have to use the grapple hook almost everytime,it kinda kills the flow of the whole parkour but yeah the game itself it’s pretty good,i liked it.
i personally enjoyed the stealth as well,i just can’t get myself to like the parkour,i don’t like it as much as others but i can’t say it’s bad or anything.
@AndreaVP_AC i played it before unity so when i tried unity i felt a huge upgrade , the only problem i faced was that the building where too far away sometimes
@sozzem8869 that’s exactly my biggest problem with this parkour and i don’t like using the grapple much because it kinda ruins parkour,i’m glad i’m not the only one that thinks that.
I can say that you're not the only one. But i personally like it, i don't like a lot but still like it. not having a jump button doesn't permit to do a lot of movements, it's mostly linear and the map usually doesn't permit to have a good parkour run
"I don't like syndicate's parkour" and proceeds to avoid doing any parkour at all.. not a single eject, hop or anything. It's supposed to be weird and unfun when you just hold A and expect the character to do everything for you, its kinda supposed to influence you to learn it and try to actually do it, that's since ac1, try to not eject or breakfall on the first games and you're jumping straight to you death, the difference here is that unity/syndicate have more mechanics and are less punitive, but you still have to learn and try if you want to be efficient have fun with it. (ac has always had the problem of not teaching the player how to play it and letting them play the entire game without ever using it's mechanics and movements, like, I played the entirety of ac1 without knowing about grabledge) The big problem I see with syndicate is how the grapple replaces parkour instead of improving it in a franchise players are used to not do parkour and just let the game play itself. The map is also very bad for it and doesn't influence moving vertically, so I get where you coming from.
If he avoided doing parkour, then what did he do in this whole video? Also it’s quite rare to actually trigger a side eject due to this system’s shit design
you chose the worst parkour route.there are other routes where you can consistently do side ejects and more swings.also back ejects can be useful in some cases.you basically chose a route where you can do none of this.try doing parkour in southwark or ww1 london.you won't even have to use the rope launcher in these areas
