Mediterranean Gull (Larus melanocephalus, mustanmerenlokki) 10.8.2010 Ämmässuo, Espoo, S Finland

This video showcases a Mediterranean Gull (Larus melanocephalus, mustanmerenlokki), observed on August 10, 2010, at the Ämmässuo dump in Espoo, Southern Finland. The footage was captured using videoscoping techniques from Kalliosuo hill. This sighting might be the earliest recorded instance of a 1 cy Mediterranean in Finland.

Fantastic !. So cool to observe this gull that far north. Must be some an event. Something simmilar like when we found in my municipality larus fuscus balticus. ....I 'm from Istria. North Adriatic sea.

Yes it's always special, I think we have had some 50-100 Mediterraneans in Finland so far, the first was in 1984 so it's a relatively "new" rarity here
